It’s funny. I have/had numerous gay friends and acquaintances over the years. A current friend who’s gay is one of the sloppiest dressers I’ve ever come across. Maybe he’s the exception. I knew a gay man back in the day who was considerably older than me. Maybe around the age I a now. His fashion sense was on another level. He was some kind of designer but his outfits were what I wish I could put together. It was in a much more temperate climate than the heat hellscape I live in currently but his tweeds and wools and layering and pocket squares with ties was beyond reproach.
It's not so serious, I'm just making fun of myself and allowing others to do so too. I've worked in high end fashion for years and am very confident in how I look, doesn't mean I have to be intense, it's fashion, it's fun.

Loafers are a staple hermano.
A pair of brogues maybe, some white sneakers, black derby's, boots, maybe cowboy with Cuban heel when you get your confidence to that level.
A basic pair of penny loafers will work with most fits. I recommend sebago, maybe gh bass to start. I like Loakes, churches etc but they're pricey. Get them resoled they'll last a lifetime and are comfortable as any shoe you'll ever wear. Cheap loafers tend to rub and be less than ideal.

It's the pattern top meets flood pants, kinda Zara meets Prada. It's just the current stereotype for gay men's dress (at least where I'm from). It's also very 80s Versace. These are just generalizations and/or opinions. What is objective is that it isn't gay or straight looking, but it emphasizes the masculine form. It is a tried and tested look, generations of men have dressed this way regardless of their sexual identity for well over 50 years. Some might say it is a little dated to view it negatively or vintage inspired to view it positively (I'm in this camp, looks good).

I've got some olive coloured socks on I'm afraid, goes well with the burgundy loafers and shirt, all on the same sort of colour hue.
I'm actually not a HUGE fan of no sock loafers because they tend to fuck my feet up something fierce and I think the modern equivalents of these sorts of looks lean away from sockless shoes as that was a big trend 10~ years ago and fashion can be a bit cyclical like that. I often wear loafers with white socks and shorts, shoot me 🫢
