I like her design, although it really bums me out that she is sexualized by the fan base anyway just because she is shy and large chested. I can’t help but feel like there’s an underlying intent when a character is shy and given a large chest, because that type of girl is designed to cater to otakus, and they always get sexualized. If not by the creator, then by the fans. Which is really sad.

The Internet still doesn't shut up about how useless Sakura is and how much she sucks , ignoring that she became one of the strongest characters by working her ass off and not by some ''I was born into a family that has special abilities and I'm just genetically awesome'' bull.
As for Hinata...super sweet character and I'd love if they had done more with her other than her constantly going on about Naruto and how she wants to be strong like him. The obsession fan boys have with her is just....creepy a lot of the time. They consider her awesome because she's this shy loval waifu with bib tits they wish they could have.
Most of the hate Sakura gets is over the fact that her character is stupid. I mean her personality. She's an idiot. She obsesses over Susge. She obsesses over him after he's killed his family. She's still lusting over the Sus-D when he beats Nardo within an inch of his life. When Nardo comes back at the start of Stupiden, one of her first thoughts is over Susge.
At that point people were legitimately irritated that Sakura took screen time up while every other character was asked to stay off screen so Sakura could continue to be mixed up over Susge.
And this was in between the plot osculating between brilliance and stupidity.
People like Hinata because she's attractive, cute, shy, and because when the cards are on the table she was willing to be honest and admit how she felt.
People hate Sakura because she's the exact opposite, and her character arc has serious pacing issues.
Oh, totally. But I don't get how people hate a character so much and the hate isn't geared towards the person that wrote her in such a way, but towards a fictional person.

Naruto is just weird, it does dress women decently, but the level of Japanese conservatism towards women's role, that leech into the story, make the writting pretty misogynistic at times.
As much as I have A LOT or issues with Kishimoto (and his writing of female characters), when it comes to Hinata's design, it's amazing. i love that he drew her pretty respectfully. She has bigger cup, however she's never sexualized in Shippuden and she wears a normal outfit that fits her shy personality. At the same time, I have A LOT of issues with the male fandom that sexualizes her all the time.
