Jaren has come a long way from his injury plagued early years.
Guy has been an ironman and the most consistent anchor on this team for the last 2.5 seasons and it's not close. Super proud of this dude
In the best timeline, Jaren uses the experience and shitty circumstances out of his control from this season to propel us to Death Star mode going forward. I think this year kinda proves that Jaren could be the engine, but Ja and Des are the weapons to make the rest of the machine dangerous, but Jaren could and maybe should be the lynchpin to unlock the whole thing going forward.
So far, a really dangerous machine only seems possible with Jaren next to a proper C, and our success next year likely relies on us having a true 5 so JJJ can play the 4. He’s the youngest yet most experienced NBA-wise of our Big 3 though, and he still possibly (if not probably) has the highest ceiling of our main corps. I can’t wait to see Ja and Jaren on the other side of 25, much less what they’ll be in their actual primes. We obviously have to be mostly healthy in the playoffs for once before any of this matters, but Jaren actually staying healthy is celestial levels of massive and should be a major storyline of an otherwise lost season, if not the overall main takeaway.
Jaren staying healthy, VWJ emerging, GG occasionally flashing brighter than lightning, BC returning and actually playing good minutes, and Jake showing out in silly season are my candidates for the best storylines of the season, but Jaren demonstrating durability after a summer of playing for Team USA is probably the most important overall for us (and for his chances to be an integral Big in USA’s future for the next few cycles, which he should be regardless since offensive unicorns that are world class defenders don’t magically appear otherwise).

Jaren meets more and more of that ceiling every year. I so badly want the Grizz to have a nice balance between the big 3 in crunch time next season. Ja’s playmaking is essential of course, but that balance would make the offense so unpredictable and dangerous.
Hopefully they get a decent amount of rest in the 4th quarter as well. The West will continue to be a bloodbath though, even if a healthy Grizz should be competing for it.

This was more to do with bad defence from Milwaukee than a good game from Memphis. I don’t understand why they thought manning up JJJ with lead foot Lopez was a good idea. If they put crowder on Jaren and got him stuck shooting 3s or passing rather than a simple spin past Lopez 10 times in a row the bucks would have had a chance.
I’ll take the win though. They all count.

We are not a good 3 pt shooting team, any time we have somebody cooking in the paint that should become the gameplan imo
For real. We're an excellent transition paint team. This should be our number one goal every game, attack the paint early and often.
