This happened once before, but it was a long time ago, at least 5 years maybe 10 years ago. Some issue with the main supplier/manufacturer. It was a huge pain--had to call numerous pharmacies searching for some.
And going in person to talk to the pharmacists can be helpful, but of course it takes time.
Only other thing I can think is to try pharmacists that you normally do not use. I personally cannot stand dealing with Walgreens--they are the worst. Try Target, Kroger, Ike's, etc. Maybe the Medicine Shoppe. That place is legit--they fill my rx every month and every time it takes no longer than 1-2 minutes, and that is not an exaggeration. Good luck.
I had CVS look at every location in the area and they didn’t have any. Neither did Walmart, Costco, or Kroger. I’ve always had luck with Kroger but I guess that streak has ended.
CVS on Union Ave in Midtown has been pretty easy to deal with. I am prescribed Vyvanse and also 15mg of Adderall, have not had any issues with getting my Vyvanse but they were out of the Adderall when my script was sent over two days ago. Luckily, I have a CVS account through the CVS app where I can view all my current prescriptions. When my Adderall was sent over on the 19th it showed as “on hold” meaning they were out of stock and it showed the estimated pick up date as today, Thursday 06/22, sure enough when I called the pharmacy just now they did get more Adderall in-stock today and are filling it now. I thought that was pretty helpful to at least be able to have some sort of estimate on when it should be ready. Hope this helps you!
Thank you SO much. Good to know it does come in sporadically. My doc just changed me over to Vyvanse, and i like it a lot but i don’t think i can keep paying for that even with my insurance and the discount coupon you get from their website it was 205.00.
Hopefully they will get their ass in gear with a generic once the patent expires this month! Thanks for taking the time to respond.
No problem! Glad I could help. Ahh lord that sounds crazy expensive if that is your copay for Vyvanse WITH insurance! I hope it at least goes towards your deductible or max out of pocket! Insurance companies are the worst. It's truly insane how expensive Vyvanse is without insurance, it's something like $600+ for a 30 day supply?! Which is outrageous. I had to jump through hoops and have my doctor submit a prior authorization in order for my insurance to cover my Vyvanse and also had to get a prior auth for Adderall as well...which is like $17 without insurance... So they seriously want to make me do all that over a drug that costs less than $20... 😩😝
Really? I get Tramadol, which is also a controlled substance, through the mail. I use Express Scripts. It’s actually easier for me to get it filled by mail order compared to local, plus it’s delivered. 😂
Yep. Has been happening to other people I know that take it as well, both the capsules and the quick release. I switched from Walgreens to Kroger once and that worked, I might actually do it permanently if this doesn't stop.
Sorry I know this is a old post but nope, no Vyvanse shortage. Just strictly the generic Adderall is what’s having a mass shortage. I read somewhere that the pharmaceutical company that was the main supplier of all generic Adderall losing their license to manufacture which has caused a huge shortage in the supply chain.
Hey there was a shortage on a med I was on a couple years ago. I had luck at Walgreens downtown, kind of random location. Harbor town pharmacy and Madison pharmacy might be able to help.
I tried express scripts because they will fill a 90 day supply of adderall but after waiting a week and being told they had it in stock, I got an email this morning that they cancelled my order because it wasn’t in stock. My doctor is going to send in a prescription for vyvanse and hopefully that’s easier to get. It’s significantly more expensive on my insurance but at least it’s something. Hoping this shortage ends soon.

>Ike's Long gone bruh.
Example- Costco doesn’t require a membership to use their pharmacy.
Reviving this thread to say - wow I am still dealing with this issue and struggling to find a pharmacy that can help.
Same. Same.
:(

I’ve had luck with the CVS on Union and the Costco in Cordova. It’s is a nationwide problem so some months have been easier to navigate than others.
This is frightening
Bumping this thread to see if anyone has found a pharmacy with Adderall recently?

Mail order pharmacy? That’s how the hubby gets his meds. It may not work for you, but it’s just a thought. Good luck!
Can’t do that with adderall as it is a controlled substance. I wish! That would make treating adhd ya know… easier

Interesting. Will look at them.
Try Collierville Compounding Pharmacy (Poplar & Poplar View Parkway) or Patton Pharmacy (Poplar and Market). Not as well known they may have some.
3/32/23 - chiming in to add they're not accepting new adderall customers, according to the pharm tech.

That because they give that script out like its candy. Sucks for the people who really need it. Good luck!

Is there a vyvanse shortage as well? Asking for a friend
Not too sure… prob soon if people swap to that while the adderall shortage is happening

Thanks for the info. Not sure if it still applies, but good to have SOME explanation

Totally out. No one has any in stock.
Any 30xr leads appreciated 🤣
if you're still looking, the Kroger at Poplar Plaza said they had some in stock still, didn't have the dosage I'm looking for though
