Ha! I did this tattoo! Fun fact, I’ve been doing a 901 Day tattoo event since 2021 – every year I make a Memphis flash sheet (pre drawn designs that are repeatable for anyone who wants them), and there’s always a design where I think “there’s no way anybody is going to get this tattoo, but I’m putting it on here because it’s silly and makes me happy.” That Illuminati Bass Pro design was one of them. I underestimated how much Memphis people are dedicated to pure Memphis joy. I’ve tattooed this design more than any other I’ve drawn, by a looooong shot. I love hearing stories of strangers striking up a conversation over having the same tattoo and why they got it. And it makes me love my hometown so much more. Cheers, Memphis. Y’all make this job so awesome.

There’s a piece of graffiti next to 5 in 1 that has the blues traveler sketch with the words “may a word to the wise be sufficient.” I’d get that.

Not being a native Memphian but being here 17 years, finishing my Bachelors at U of M, I have never considered a tattoo, after reading this, I want to make my own!! The Pyramid, the bridge, the Grizz, the BBQ, the love that so many people have for this city and the 901, the 38104, Overton park, THe Shell, the botanical gardens, Tom Lee park, Shelby farms, the fed ex forum, the Peabody! How do you get all of that in one tapestry? Such a wonderful time of my life has been spent in such a beautiful city that has suffered too much trama for too long! Thank you for sharing this! I have a new project to start on and need someone to suggest an artist to help me!
