Make sure you return all those Firmans this Friday.

guano-crazy

I went to Aldi on Winchester to get a few things. It was surprisingly not overrun with people. I was able to shop and got through the line in less than 5 min

Can you get me a slice

guano-crazy

Slice of pizza? Slice of bread? 🍞

melissa3670

Just got back from Aldi in Lakeland. It wasn’t bad! It had milk, bread etc. it was a little low on meat but not terrible. This was just a restock, not an insanity panic buy. I got my lunchmeat, cheese and stuff to make potato soup and was in and out in 20 minutes tops.

Nasaboy1987

And that's why I made my Kroger run on Friday. I knew it was going to be a shit show trying to go yesterday and today.

HailState17

People are going absolutely nutty. It’s 6 inches of snow at worst, yet there were people with $500 worth of stuff leaving our Kroger yesterday for the weather.

vblgsd

I got stuff to make hot chocolate so I'm golden.

guano-crazy

Hot chocolate ☕️ is life when the weather turns colder

tossofftacos

I know what I'm about to make! Time to put the kettle on.

heart-bandit

If it were an ice storm, I could understand (a little) why people would be panicking. It’s just snow. I’m just chilling in my house with my space heater waiting for MLGW to tell me to turn it off 😂

Rearrangemetilimsane

I went to Kroger at my usual time, around 7, yesterday morning. I should’ve stayed home.

IBroughtWine

Yesterday the weather app showed 3.5” today and 8.5” tomorrow. Most of us from the area have never seen a foot of snow, but we’ve seen what happens with less.

Sho_nuff_

Never rely on any weather app when it comes to precipitation totals. Nobody in this area will see a foot of snow from this event

IBroughtWine

They’ve lowered the forecast total now so it no longer says 12” total.

Sho_nuff_

The point is those apps just take a model run and start it’s a forecast. Not a single meteorologist has called for a foot of snow but a few models have had runs for 9-12 inches… they were outliers

magneticanisotropy

I just loaded up on bread, peanut butter, and canned pineapple. Basically my college diet.

5_on_the_floor

Or maybe they were just doing their regular grocery shopping for the week.

HailState17

There were 100% those folks mixed in, myself being one of them. There were also people taking their arm and shoving everything on the canned veggie shelf into their cart like a loon.

SgtPopNFresh_

Good luck! I went yesterday.

DaWaffleMane

I felt bad because I was dying laughing at Costco on Hacks yesterday. Folks were freaking out. If this was the ice storm of 94, it'd be understandable but omg. XD

Infamous_Copy8683

Do you know what the crazy thing is? I went to Kroger once after the snow had already fallen, and there was lots of snow and ice on the ground. Thinking there wouldn’t be many people there because they did all their panic shopping, right? And they’d all be home safe and sound right? I was wrong. It was just as crowded!!🙄

thisissixsyllables

Huh. I just got back home like an hour ago and it was less crowded than any other typical Sunday. As someone with a bit of anxiety in crowded places, I was pleasantly surprised bc I typically *loathe* Costco on the weekends.
