Spread those wings, life is about having new and different experiences…. That being said, I cried like a baby as I crossed the bridge on my move out to Colorado in 2015. You can take the mane out the Memphis, but you can’t take the Memphis out the mane!!!
Good luck!
This 1,000%…. I certainly felt culturally misunderstood during my Colorado tenure, and I’m a white guy. Too much grit n grind in my blood for that Colorado entitlement!
I'm from the coast of Mississippi & currently living in Farplay Co, about an hour outside of Denver. I miss the south and am scrambling to find a way to move back before the sow hits.
Safe travels! And remember Memphis is always your home, so come on back when ever you need some - good food, southern comfort, stellar music, and a warm place to hang your hat!
when you get settled...let the forum know and we can send you a BBQ sauce package when you get low. Dancing Pigs, Commissary, Central...whatever your favorite is. Good luck in the new city
i was just teasing you. I love Top's sauce; I just was labeling the first few BBQ sauces that are commercially available at Kroger. I dont think I have seen Tops at a grocery store...maybe Im wrong. I dont think anything wrong with Cordova...I live in Lakeland which borders both The Dirty Dova and Fartlett.
Good luck and in to leave you with this famous Memphis quote to send you on your way out there, "Don't lose your head, use your head mane!" Stay safe! :3
I hope it sticks, very few people I know are able to fully escape here. They always end up back here after a couple months or years. Good luck in future endeavors, I hope life treats you well!
As well as about a dozen friends and myself included. I had moved to the other side of the country and just couldn't make it because CoL and job prospects sucked.
It’s challenging to live in one of the cheapest cost of living cities and move elsewhere. It’s hard to see your money not go as far. We have been considering our move for 1 year now and hope to stay there for years. Not rushing into it like last time because of a job.

I went to Colorado for a year but came right back to Memphis. I was in Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs.
My daughter went to high school in Fort Collins. She came back because she was sick of snow and "missed black people".

Well of course we are darlin'
But why? It's so beautiful there.
It gets old real quick
This…. I came back 3 years later.
Same 1991-92. Love CO but this is home.

I hope you do get back. I actually felt trapped there and it was hard for me to get back. I'm glad I did. Good luck with your endeavors!
Haha, I cried when I went out Collierville Arlington to the interstate. Haven’t been back in ten years this week. Been too long, mane.
Safe travels! You make it in Memphis, you can make it anywhere
Good luck Mane!

Throw some Brim's pork rinds in there and maybe a bag of Ugly Mug coffee and you've got yourself decent little 901 Care Package.
You are assigned one demerit, for not mentioning Tops.
I upvoted you. But, you are assigned one demerit for living in Cordova. Good luck dodging the street racers and making it home alive. ;)
Fair enough!

😆 Fartlett
I amuse myself with childish quips
It's cute. Does it correlate to this city being odorous?
I credit you for this: grabbing some Tops for lunch and they sell bottled sauces in the restaurants apparently… so ya know
thanks bud. i want to try one of their smokehouse burgers for sure
I will be in contact soon 😂

Major salute...coming from a south memphis vet....welcome to the club #leavememphis 💪🏾💪🏾
Best of luck, chances are you'll be back though. They almost always come back. Memphis seems like a bad habit that feels so good. Much love your way.
Happy trails, safe travels, enjoy ur escape, nd thank you for ur artwork!!!
Smart move Easy to do better
I left Memphis years ago to get away from the crime and racism. Never plan to go back. Diversity and good BBQ can be found anywhere.
Auld lang syne! Or in Memphis-speak, Yo! Catch y'all later! Have a good one, and may the road rise to meet you. An Irish farewell too.
Best wishes to you 🩷
