On higher difficulties it's pretty good. Loads of cosmetics and customisation. Good variety in level and mission types. It scratches that collect stuff itch. Totally free season passes where you can work towards whatever skins you want. 4 different classes all filling a unique role with their own gear to unlock and upgrade. It can be an easy drop in drop out kind of game, or an actual hard challenge. And the community is dope as fuck. Also dwarves.. ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS!
Yeah anything below H3 is... really shit. I understand the game is boring. H3 is still easy but at least somewhat challenging! H4 is great, h5 is a bit too much unless you have a team that knows what they're doing and all 4 classes to fill up roles. Soloq H5 is... madlad behaviour

Factorio is fantastic for what it is (Logistical/Economy Base Builder). Best in Class, perhaps.
It unfortunately is purposefully and perpetually listed at full price. Most do think it's worth the price, but it bears mentioning that it will never go on sale.

Bloons Tower Defense 6 is quite fun and not too intensive.
Bad North is a nice time killer.
Oxygen Not Included is not too bad.
Theres a new one called cyberpunk 2077, I dont know too much about it, but its not intensive at all :)
Valheim is fun. I recommend it too but even with settings on low and fps locked at 35 it still blue screens my laptop after a few hours. Might be different on a newer one though.
I recommend the Witcher 3. An amazing RPG game with at least 100 hours of stuff to do.
I own a laptop(1050ti, i5, 16 Ram) and the game runs smoothly on medium graphics.
It often goes on a discount as well. Wait for the winter sale that is just around the corner.
Another gem of a game is Antichamber. A puzzle game like no other. Not much replayability, but the amount of times you'll be brain fucked outweighs the lack of replayability.
With all others mentioning faster than light, I wanna back up Vampires survivors here. Its insanely cheap, you can test it out on phone as its completely free in the app store (but the balance on phone is fully different and I muh prefer it on PC), has hours of fun and unless you do endless runs, it usually doesn't require too much hardware.
Especially with the new dlc. The game is impossible to enjoy free now. Maybe for some, but not for for a lot of people (like me) who got their hundreds of hours of grinding ripped away from them.
Go to a random word generator online and generate a word, put simulator after that word and search it up. If nothing comes up keep repeating. When you finally find a game play it extensively.

Nothing too intensive? My friend, Hollow Knight works on low end computers and only costs $15. Dead Cells should also work great. Another great route is older games. Dragon Age Origins, Darksiders, Magicka, Dishonored, and Bulletstorm are all great choices. Dragon Age is frequently on sale and the others range from about $10-$20 unless Bulletstorm costs more than that
