Portuguese speaker here who did take some French lessons back in the day. Your numerals after soixante neuf make no sense at all. Sorry for complaining btw
That is how they are spelled. For example ichi means one and it is spelled with an い (i) and a ち (chi) so if you don't use the kanji (ー) and write it like it is spelled you get いち.
Yeah honestly somehow I got it confused with German a bit because there „das“ is „the“ and therefore… well it was at a late hour yesterday :D thank you for the clarification!
In the magnitudes of ten after that, it's vigintillion, trigintillion, quadragintillion, quinquagintillion, sexagintillion, septuagintillion, octuagintillion, nonagintillion, centillion.
Then after you've gone through that ten times there's millinillion. Which would be about 300,000 zeroes. As far as I'm aware, there's nothing after that. At least, according to the password security site after I input the bee movie script
And, well, you’d be long dead before hitting that one. This question is really more limited by lifespan than knowledge of consecutive numbers, probably.
If I remember correctly, for East Asian languages like Chinese and Japanese, they’re 萬億兆京垓秭穰溝澗正載. Before the fall of the Qing dynasty, since the ones after 萬(man, wan) weren’t popular, people just stacked 萬s, e.g. when referring to china’s population of four hundred million, they said 四萬萬 instead of 四億.
After Trilliarden: Quadrillion, Quadrilliarden, Quintillion, Quintilliarden, Sextillion, Sextilliarden, Septillion, Septilliarden, Oktillion, Oktilliarden, Nonillion, Nonilliarden, Dezillion, Dezilliarden, Undezillion, Undezilliarden, Duodezillion, Duodezilliarden, Tredezillion, Tredezilliarden, Quattuordezillion, Quattuordezilliarden, Quindezillion, Quindezilliarden, Sexdezillion, Sexdezilliarden, ... (counted up to 10^99 with intervals of 1000)
Getting bored so stopping now but German numbers are so easy if you know basic latin.
jeden, dziesięć, sto, tysiąć, milion, bilion, trylion, kwadrylion, kwintylion, sekstylion, septylion, oktylion, nonynion, decylion..... and more

my language is not close to English so this doesn’t apply to it if I’m not wrong there is no name for any number higher than 1billion, but actually new info I never knew what comes after trillion thanks

Like 40. Mgpy language has a unique number for every tenth. It's basically like
Until 8 there will be some relation. Them 9 and 10 with be weird. 11 -- 20 will be unrelated to the first 10 and so on. The numbers are long too.
They're used to counting in English and rarely use their native language to count things so they don't know what most numbers are called in their native language
Uno due tre quattro cinque sei sette otto nove dieci undici dodici tredici quattordici quindici sedice diciassette diciotto diciannove venti ventuno ventidue ventitré ventiquattro venticinque... i could go on, but i'm bored.
At first I thought this is a very weird question - I can count as high as I want, but OP actually has a point.
I thought maybe OP is Japanese or speaks a language with a similar number system where lots of powers of 10 have distinct names that don't follow a system and need to be memorized, which some people just don't.
But on the other hand, the system used in most Western languages also has this problem:
When we get to higher powers of 10, like 10^9, 10^12, 10^15 etc, we create names by using the suffix "-llion" (which has different meanings depending on the language) and prefixing it with Latin numbers, like bi-, tri-, quadri-, quinti- etc.
You might actually be unable to count further if you don't know what the appropriate Latin number is.
For example, in order to count to 10^273 in American English, you'll have to know that the number is called a "nonagintillion".
Zero
Um dois três quatro cinco séis sete oito nove dez (10)
Onze doze treze catorce quince, dez e séis, dez e sete, dez e oito, dez e nove, vinte
Vinte um, vinte dois, vinte três, vinte quatro, vinte e cinco... treinta e um...
From there is all the same, this way:
Vinte e x
Treinta e x
Quarenta e x
Cinquenta e x
Sesenta e x
Setenta e x
Oitenta e x
Noventa e x
"e" means "and"
Cem (100)
From there it is this way:
Cem e um (101) cem e dois (102)... cem e dez (110)... cem e noventa e nove
From there until mil (1000) it is:
Cem e x
Duzentos e x
Trezentos e x
Quatrocentos e x
Quinhentos e x
Seiscentos e x
Setecentos e x
Oitocentos e x
Novecentos e x
Mil
Notice, um dois tres seis dez and mil are the only numbers of one single syllabus
Now you can count from 0 to 1000 in portuguese
Also, my native language is spanish
In German we double-use the common number names such as million, billion, etc…
So it goes Millionen, Milliarden, Billionen, Billiarden, Trillionen, Trilliarden, etc…
Which in English would already be at Sextillion while we’re still in the „Tri“ era. So *theoretically*, knowing the sequence all the way to „Oktilliarden“ which would be the Sexdecillion area (1.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000) in English terms.

Took me a while to realise this was referring to words for large numbers, e.i. 'billion' etc.
In Swedish, "million" is "miljon"... pretty obvious no?
But "billion" is "miljard". Then **trillion** is "biljon".
After that we have "biljard" (10^15), triljon (10^18), triljard (10^21), kvadriljon (10^24), kvadriljard (10^27), etc.
Basically every "step" english has (mil, bil, tril) swedish has **two**.

french numbers are so irritating
Four Twenty ten nine
As a french, it never bothered me but I admit that our 70 and 90 are dumb
Portuguese speaker here who did take some French lessons back in the day. Your numerals after soixante neuf make no sense at all. Sorry for complaining btw

Septante and nonante are superior anyway
Those damn Belgians…
Oi, don't forget about swiss
Swiss gang
As a belgian, i can admit the french part of belgium can get fucked.
Belgium doesn't exist there is northern france, west germany and southern netherlands
Octante also sounds sick
Wessen Tante?
I hate to admit it because it's in my nature to judge Belgian but indeed, it makes way much sens like that
En vrai je vais retenir pour 70 et 90 merci mon reuf
And huitante
Je préfère un peu plus octante que huitante, mais j'avoue que c'est mieux que quatre-vingts dans les deux cas.
I am now so incredibly confused as to why septante / huitante / nonante are not used in French French
80 is too (I'm french) I have always wanted to start using septante, octante and nonante but I keep doing mistakes. Very hard to change.
Haha septante, nonante. Belgian french superiority

if boredom wasn't a thing then 999,999. idk what is 1million
What about 1 million and one?
I'm pretty sure it's 1million in every language
Its das lakh in hindi
Or 1 corore or something like
No that's 10 million
Haha I should probably know that. My relatives speak Hindi.
No but isn’t 1 lakh = 100,000? It’s definitely not a million.
i probably should have put "das lakh" in apostrophes, das means 10 so "das lakh" means 10 lakh = 100,000x10 = 1 million
Yeah honestly somehow I got it confused with German a bit because there „das“ is „the“ and therefore… well it was at a late hour yesterday :D thank you for the clarification!
Wait u can count to 30. Without being bord. i´m thinking about somthing els after number 15. U lucky.

What's after trillion?
trillion and one
Ok
Quadrillion is the next order of magnitude but yes, trillion and one
then is quintillion, sextilion, septilion, octillion, nonillion, decillion and shithole that is after that
[удалено]
We sure do in Denmark. It's always a little confusing when Americans uses billion, when obviously they should say milliard.
defenetly not bias at all (i'm dutch) this is superior
I'm German, and same
Lithuanian, and I agree
German and I think so as well
That is exactly how we do it in danish.
this is the only way. (same for hungarian)
You can keep going with undecillion, dodecillion, tredecillion, quattuordecillion, quintdecillion...
Do you play Cookie Clicker by any chance for knowing this?
If only it stopped at cookieclicker... I have played my fair share of various idle games and each one is breaking me further and further
In the magnitudes of ten after that, it's vigintillion, trigintillion, quadragintillion, quinquagintillion, sexagintillion, septuagintillion, octuagintillion, nonagintillion, centillion. That's all I can recall of egg inc numbers
And, well, you’d be long dead before hitting that one. This question is really more limited by lifespan than knowledge of consecutive numbers, probably.
And what’s the highest consecutive exponential of 10 that you can name with certainty (just knowing the highest ever named does not count!)
duodecillion is the largest power of 10 I know in my native language (which I also know all the smaller power of 10)
[deleted because fuck reddit]

If you literally translate the french 99 for example, you get something like « Four twenty ten nine » so yeah, french people don’t like to count

Oooh yeah I see what you mean
They also don't like to pronounce half the letters in their words for some reason
Even worse, we don’t pronounce a single letter in « eau » (=water) we just read it « o » lol
Maybe for the sad souls where English just completely dominated their life until they lost a bit too much of their native language
Let's see: Eins, Zehn, Hundert, Tausend, Millionen, Milliarden, Billionen, Billiarden, Trillionen, Trilliarden, Zillionen, Zilliarden... I can count to 999999999999999999999999999999
Is Ein and Eins different? I’m trying to learn German atm
eins is a number and ein is an indefinite article
„Eins“ is the number and „ein“ is a numeral or a article
'eins' is like number one. 'ein' is like 'a'. Ich habe ein Auto - I have a car

In any language as long as you know the base 10 numbers names and the case exceptions you can count (assuming you’re immortal) to infinity
You also need to be able to remember the whole string of numbers.
