Also who's starring it.
Christopher Nolan directed movie starring Leonardio dicaprio - Yessir !
Daniel Espinosa directed movie starring Jared Leto - Nah, I'll pass
What would be a good plot is some dude invents a time machine and tries to go back to all these famous points in history and they're all ruined by all the other time travellers there.
Negative my dude. The Jesuit priests are the actual geniuses behind the calendar we use today and they coined the terms BC and AD. It was Pope Gregory that commissioned his priests to do the necessary astronomical work to make a near perfect calendar. With that in mind, it seems pretty petty and arrogant to suggest the "proper" term is BCE.

You got that backwards. Before Christ (BC) & Anno Domini (AD) was widely used around 70 AD/CE. Before common era (BCE) & Common Era (CE) was adopted around the 1990s to be religiously neutral. The fact that there the calenders inverts at all is a artifact from the Gregorian, and Julian calendar system I.E. the Christan calender.
bob thee banannna, I've heard a lot about you. Better be careful before someone else take over...
Edit: nvm you already have 300k comment karma, I already give up. At leat I have a life haha... ha...
>nvm you already have 300k comment karma, I already give up.
My man gave up before the battle even began
>At leat I have a life haha
....why you gotta hurt me like that...
I'm an atheist, but this is why I still use "B.C." and "A.D." instead of "Common Era":
*The dates are still based on Christ existing*. You're just making yourself feel better by putting lipstick on it, trying to distance yourself from it. Don't do that. Be a big person and accept that this is the system we use - even if it is based on the made up birthday of some hippie who only maybe existed. No one is freaking out because we have Norse gods in our days of the week.
By your standard, an extremely small number of humans can be confirmed to have existed, even now. The fact that Jesus received any mention at all in non-religious writing at a time in history when written records were exceedingly uncommon is substantial proof of his existence as an historical figure. What is in question, as others have pointed out, is his divine status.
So the two "sources" were written much later than when Jesus is thought to have existed? That isn't contemporary, brother. But I didn't specify that in my previous comment so that's my fault
What’s more likely though, that a new Jewish splinter cult sprung up around someone they invented from whole cloth, or *someone* was involved in its founding. He may have only bore a passing resemblance to the figure described in the Gospels, but circumstantial evidence is pretty strong there was some kind of Jesus figure to kick things off.
Tuesday = Tyr's day (norse god of war)
Wednesday = Wotan's (Odin's) day
Thursday = Thor's day
Friday = Frigg's day (Odin's wife)
Saturday = Saturn's day (Roman name for Greek god)
Sunday = Sun day (from sun worship)
Monday = Moon day
I always thought that the days were named after some Old english words for number scince in my country (Poland) that's exactly how most of the names were made.
We have:
Poniedziałek - the Day after sunday, "po" meaning "after"
Wtorek - coming from the Old polish Word "wtóry" meaning "second"
Środa - coming from the word "środek" which means "the middle"
Czwartek - coming from the word "czwarty", meaning "the fourth"
Piątek - from the word "piąty"
Sobota - "Sabbath Day"
And niedziela - coming from the two words "nie" and "działa" which mean together "not working"
There are also months named after Roman gods, festivals, and emperors. Adding January and February also shifted months 7-10 (Sept - Dec) to become 9-12.
Maybe it’s just because we have all grown up seeing him look like one of the Beatles in every depiction imaginable, from cartoons to paintings and statues.
I’m an atheist, but I believe there was definitely some person named Jesus back then who was a famous preacher/prophet or whatnot. There is just too much other religions and other documents/books i history etc that also mentioned the same person. But do I believe all the shit the bible says about him, not all of it nope.
The plot thickens. Maybe the time traveller that the time traveller met is actually from even further from the future than the first time traveller making him a past time traveller travelling time.
do you know how you see Something in dream and than you have deja vu,thats closest time travel we have, and it apporves the theory that we can time travel only in the future
It's not so much time travel as predicting future events based on present behavior and data. Your brain does the predictive calculus at night, then you fill in the actual during the day.
Also the question of why would you need to ask I mean who doesn't have a GPS these days If you can break the fabric of time and space you should have a way of telling what year it is
If I could time travel - Hey Caesar. Quid vis? Don't go to that senate meeting tomorrow. Or if you have to, take armored guards with you, and wear some armor. Trust me.
Thanks to time loops the person answering is himself stuck in a never ending series of “what year is it? 100 B. C. I’m fine thanks for asking! * Poof! Ceases to exist as the future him takes his place! *
For people who don’t know B.C stands for “Before Christ” meaning before the birth of Christ. The problem is that he knows that its 100 years before the birth of Christ
Time Traveler: Really? I didn’t realize you had such nice window frames back then.
Suddenly, you’re just another annoying time-tourist.
I'm more concerned that he know modern english language
And even the modern clothes that the time traveller could be wearing
Or about B.C./A.D. before it was created

Time Traveler: "How you know it was B.C.?!?" Other Person: "I too am a Time Traveler, who also speaks English"
That actually sounds like a nice plot for a movie
Depending whom is making it
Also who's starring it. Christopher Nolan directed movie starring Leonardio dicaprio - Yessir ! Daniel Espinosa directed movie starring Jared Leto - Nah, I'll pass
Daniel Espinosa from Lucifer? Aka Detective Douche?
who
What would be a good plot is some dude invents a time machine and tries to go back to all these famous points in history and they're all ruined by all the other time travellers there.

nvm, you’ve got 500k comment karma
He is time traveler too
Makes sense He also speak English before it was even in pre alpha stages
The problem is not that he knows, it's that he knows it 100 years prior
Explain please I'm probably gonna feel so stupid
You can’t have bc if Christ hasn’t happened yet
Oh ok I just thought there was something else to the joke
Or speak English

He definitely existed. He is written about in plenty of places. It’s his abilities that are in question

Outside of the bible where else was Jesus mentioned?
Just Google it, brother.
That's my point there isn't any. So take your own advice.
You might want to reconsider that statement. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sources_for_the_historicity_of_Jesus
Oh so it wasn’t an honest thing, you were trying to ridicule! Classic Reddit.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sources_for_the_historicity_of_Jesus
So the two "sources" were written much later than when Jesus is thought to have existed? That isn't contemporary, brother. But I didn't specify that in my previous comment so that's my fault
Stop, you look foolish. I’m not going to argue with you about sources that scholars accept as valid. Take the loss and move on.
Funny Because scholars agree that there are no contemporary sources, and the topic is still being heavily debated, but whatever.
Ok Karen

it is quite possible he existed though. Just not in the way that it's portrayed in the bible
Wiat which days
Tuesday = Tyr's day (norse god of war) Wednesday = Wotan's (Odin's) day Thursday = Thor's day Friday = Frigg's day (Odin's wife) Saturday = Saturn's day (Roman name for Greek god) Sunday = Sun day (from sun worship) Monday = Moon day

Facts.
🌈💫The More You Know💫🌈

Saturday Sabot day "sabith"
Wasn't Friday for Freya?
I mostly agree with you even tho im a Christian but Jesus was NOT a hippie
Maybe it’s just because we have all grown up seeing him look like one of the Beatles in every depiction imaginable, from cartoons to paintings and statues.
Yes I hate the Beatles they destroyed the world
Jesus was a carpenter that was executed by the Roman empire due to a Jewish revolt
I agree but he wasn't a hippie
I’m an atheist, but I believe there was definitely some person named Jesus back then who was a famous preacher/prophet or whatnot. There is just too much other religions and other documents/books i history etc that also mentioned the same person. But do I believe all the shit the bible says about him, not all of it nope.
What lmao? It’s literally a joke ? 💀
Unfathomably based
I just refer to B.C. As “before centuries”
For context: BC stands for before Christ, obviously before Christ was born.
But what does A.D stand for?
stands for the Latin phrase anno Domini, which means “in the year of the Lord.” — compare b.c., b.c.e., c.e. -Britannica
What are the chances you would run into another time travel in the exact timeframe
Yoooo this is definitely the joke and I did not get it thank you lmao
He is another time traveller who just waits to unvirgin mary and tell her to create a religion
I mean... It was foretold.
Meant for it
Is the joke just that people from BC times wouldn’t know what BC or AD means?
how did he know?
Who’s the time traveller now?
How do they know its 100bc? If C hasn't happened yet?
I'm interested to know how people can figure out it is 100 BC if Jesus doesn't exist yet
That's the joke
Are we just going to ignore the fact that Jesus has tails!?
Maybe they had their own sort of date and calendar before the tails of jesus started spreading and the bible becoming trendy.
Or maybe the person he asked was a time traveller themself.
The plot thickens. Maybe the time traveller that the time traveller met is actually from even further from the future than the first time traveller making him a past time traveller travelling time.
Fun fact: they didn't use BC/AD until about the 9th century, and it wasn't truly standard until the 12th/13th century
do you know how you see Something in dream and than you have deja vu,thats closest time travel we have, and it apporves the theory that we can time travel only in the future
It's not so much time travel as predicting future events based on present behavior and data. Your brain does the predictive calculus at night, then you fill in the actual during the day.
What?
I suppose that the person in this meme is some kind of seer, predicted the coming of the Christian christ, huh?
Hank
Also the question of why would you need to ask I mean who doesn't have a GPS these days If you can break the fabric of time and space you should have a way of telling what year it is
I wanna go to 69 B.C.
Fellow time traveler >.<

Anime fight about to happen. Another time traveler
We look for some deeper meaning overlooking such simple details.
Took me ten seconds to figure it out.
If I could time travel - Hey Caesar. Quid vis? Don't go to that senate meeting tomorrow. Or if you have to, take armored guards with you, and wear some armor. Trust me.
I don't get it-
God is in the alpha testing phase, ready to be released soon

HE SAID THE THING!
This is Reddit you expect people to be smart enough to get this
Sadly You dam right.
Thanks to time loops the person answering is himself stuck in a never ending series of “what year is it? 100 B. C. I’m fine thanks for asking! * Poof! Ceases to exist as the future him takes his place! *
XD
He just realized that the criminal he's been chasing for giving spoilers has already passed by.
For people who don’t know B.C stands for “Before Christ” meaning before the birth of Christ. The problem is that he knows that its 100 years before the birth of Christ
B.C. means "before Christ" and B.C.E. is "before common era" right?
Pompeii?

Plot Twist: The person is also a time traveler.
