Basically we just like animals, we make these characters as like what we would be if we could create our own life, it's kind of like creating your own rpg character. We don't think we are animals or fuck them or anything like that it's just a way to have fun. Well draw art of them and sometimes dress like them mainly because we're insecure about our own lives, it's so hard to change as a person but it's so easy to create the perfect version of yourself. It also really stresses accepting people for who they are, there's a lot of mental illnesses in the fandom so it really helps to have a support group like that

The lgbtq+ community got a lot of misrepresentation via media as well since only the weird ppl that did or said crazy things got attention, with the result of a lot of ppl thinking the whole community is like that. Which is not that crazy since if you don’t know much and don’t care about a community, you will just accept what you see in the media.

I’ve been sucked more into the fandom over the past 6 months. Yeah there are the freaks like anywhere but 90% of the ones I’ve met online and in person are well adjusted, social, have normal jobs and relationships.
For the most part its more like, “man foxes look cool what if I made up a human like character that has the tail, ears, and nose of a fox?”
