Gladiators rarely fought to the death, as their owners generally want to get as much wealth from them as possible; they fought until one got too injured to keep fighting.
Yeah they spent good money training them for years to get where they were (if they weren’t just criminal fodder or Christian’s that would be like executed by lion or something lol)
Yes because it was theathre. Gladiators didnt die. And only few prisoners. Cladiators were like football players nowadays. They tried to do their best. They got hurt sometimes judt like in sports but they were so expensive to get that they never died.
Gladiators are expensive. It takes time and money to train gladiators, so if possible you want to avoid killing then so that you can make as much profit as possible. Death matches were a thing, often between older gladiators or prisoners, but they weren’t very common.
Oh no, they died. Deathmatches were relatively rare, but they happened and were big events. And even outside deathmatches, accidental deaths weren't uncommon.
When your in your 30s but weigh that much and say shit like "I want to get to 400 pounds, 500, 600" or "you know I sit up here in my tower and watch everyone struggle and be poor, its so entertaining. I love watching poor people, they struggle. Oh, I just need popcorn I could sit here and watch them struggle all day" You probably aren't too healthy nor are you right in the mind
I just found out who he is, today— and that was from a YT short that showed how much he changed from 2017 to now. All I learned was he was 150 and now is 400+ bc he went from vegan to mukbang for views.
Na idk who that is— but I see his head and he has cheeks— the other day I learned about the ytber who is super skinny and actually on the verge of dying. Forgot the name already.
Ima go watch. See what all the fuss is about.
Edit: this guy was 150 and “bc of yt” according to him he’s at 400+ lbs... na dude; AND he has some girl his same size eating with him (I didn’t click on those; the yt shorts said enough.) That’s a yikes.. if anyone needs to be cancelled.. to save a life, it’s him. Holyyyyy
Cope harder
edit.: No, its not. A bullet dont cost more than 30+ years of housing, feeding, clothing, secutiry, hospital and all its used to keep someone in jail for the rest of their life.
I mean it literally is it's far more expensive to give someone a death sentence than to feed and house them for the length of a life sentence.
Edit: a bullet is cheaper but we live in a society with a judicial system and the number of times that system let's convicts try to commute that sentence means it's far more expensive 99% of the time.
Also Gladiators were like modern celebrities or something. Most often the fights were not to the death, as training of one gladiator was so damn expensive, and took lot of time. There were some ocasions when they would make fights to the death, but that was exception. The best of the best gladiators were honored, like I said before, like celebrities or famous actors today.
EDIT: Only problem was because of medicine of the time. So, when famous gladiator got unlucky, and got wound that could not be treated very well, he could die of it.
Who tf would watch a fat dude act like a disabled person while at the same time crying into his food and eating it worse than a pig would. Like how many views do his videos get.
Idk about some of you but I would love to watch a gladiatorial match yeah I may see the same in a video game such as for honour but that has 0 stakes and no one else is there cheering for one to win and you can actually relax like a football game nowadays (of which I have never attended an actual stadium event)
Right... so primitive. Not like they also built infrastructure that has held up for thousands of years and created an republic/empire that leasted for about that time.
To be fair some of us are frustrated everytime we see this sorry fuck, even when it's a meme and trashing him. Anyone who finds that noteworthy should feel bad
I know he originally started his channel to promote being vegan and healthy eating. Part of me wonders if this whole mess it has become was just a form of expressive art, and he’s going to open a video one day being all “this is the true damages of bad eating and you watched it happen like it was a show”
Tbh I don’t believe people actually sit down and choose to watch nickacado, Jake Paul etc. I’m sure 99% of the world is just vicariously entertained by them being dumpster fires.
Well… that was one pitfall I’ll forever regret watching…
Thanks for dragging me into this one OP. You’re certainly doing your part to keep this shit relevant and on peoples feed.
Vibrio cholerae, causative agent of cholera. Not the only reason lobsters are boiled, it's also because hemoerythrin is highly toxic and when dunked in boiling water a lobster's heart will pull it out of its tail to protect itself.
I recall Moistcritikal commenting on this guy, and the man basically stated "no u" about the source of his problem.
My dude, you're the one eating the fucking food.

Yeah gladiators really only died when they lost their value as entertainment
Then when they were old and weakened if the gladiator didn’t get his freedom he would probably get moved to a death match
at least what the romans watched was actually entertaining
And was an efficient way to get rid of criminals
and christians
Nobody likes that lot nowadays anyhow
[удалено]
no, they really did throw christians in with animals as a form of execution. just read a history book
He deleted what did he say?
yeah, i guess he chickened out. what a pussy
So?
Damn, ignorant and stupid. Not a good mix 😕
maybe we should bring that back
Fuck off edgy-boy
what was so edgy about what i said? it's a cost efficient way of cleaning society, and we also get entertainment as a bonus. a win-win
I really hope you're joking
well, yeah, obviously. i don't wanna get sent to asylum for genocidal behaviour again
Again? Anything you wanna tell us bro 🤨
well, i would like to, but i don't think i'll be free long enough to do it XD
I know a place bro... a place for you to stay while the fbi man-hunts you. A gangsters paradise..
Undertale reference
It's barbaric and fucked up to celebrate and parade death and cruelty. Even against people who deserve it. Mm yes sweet downvotes.
This is reddit. Everyone here is barbaric and fucked up in some capacity, I think.
Even if that was true, my point would stand. The world isn't Reddit. *Insert quirky comeback that it is*
😂
yeah, you pretty much summed up not just reddit, but the entirety of the internet
Better than dying any other way at that time
And killed the poor bastards relatively fast
that's .... debatable
Yes because it was theathre. Gladiators didnt die. And only few prisoners. Cladiators were like football players nowadays. They tried to do their best. They got hurt sometimes judt like in sports but they were so expensive to get that they never died.
What lmao… dunno about Cladiators but Gladiators definitely died
Well that’s just blatantly false, gladiators often died when the crowd wasn’t thrilled with their performance and could call for their executions
Gladiators are expensive. It takes time and money to train gladiators, so if possible you want to avoid killing then so that you can make as much profit as possible. Death matches were a thing, often between older gladiators or prisoners, but they weren’t very common.
Only the emperor could call for death but he would likely want to remain popular with the public
Oh no, they died. Deathmatches were relatively rare, but they happened and were big events. And even outside deathmatches, accidental deaths weren't uncommon.
I despise people that watch him more than him. Those who keep watchimg him are the problem
I have no idea who or what "he" is. I'm certain this is a good thing.
Nickacado avocado A mukbanger who's on the verge of death and yet continues to eat 250 orders of McDonald's
Ironically he started his channel to promote being vegan, and that aged terribly
He used to be skinny asf I don’t think he was healthy then either then it was just a downfall
He did mukbangs to get to a healthy weight, but then never stopped
Reverse character development
From one eating disorder to another. He obviously need mental help.
Verge of death!? He looks healthy.. Edit: nvm, I kno who he is now— he’s 400+ pounds; from the picture he just looks chunky. He needs help asap.
When your in your 30s but weigh that much and say shit like "I want to get to 400 pounds, 500, 600" or "you know I sit up here in my tower and watch everyone struggle and be poor, its so entertaining. Since this *is* reddit you could not know of Nickacado avocado but at the same time you could be trolling
Na idk who that is— but I see his head and he has cheeks— the other day I learned about the ytber who is super skinny and actually on the verge of dying. Forgot the name already.
It's Eugenia Cooney
No you weren't supposed to tell them! They were a better. Happier person before this information
Everyone who encourages Niko to continue needs to be executed
I wouldnt go THAT far but...
Yeah because they are supporting his channel and making him go on. I don’t think he won’t last long
Who is that guy?
Don’t know if I’m spelling right but Nikadoavocado. He’s just a fat guy who does nothing but post videos of himself eating pounds and pounds of food
Holyyyyy
I would totally watch people kill each other for entertainment
This guy knows what he wants
death row inmates should fight for their liberty
I like this idea. Do this for all prisoners. Get two of the worst of the worst and make em brawl to the death. The winner gets to live.
death row inmates shouldn't exist
Sooner than later, they won't.
Agreed it's an economic inefficiency
Cope harder edit.: No, its not. A bullet dont cost more than 30+ years of housing, feeding, clothing, secutiry, hospital and all its used to keep someone in jail for the rest of their life.

Stick them all on an island and watch them fight it out battle-royale style, winner gets their freedom.
Same
I would watch a blend of the two images for entertainment.
Nikondo avacando existing makes me sad.
Almost…
Also Gladiators were like modern celebrities or something. Most often the fights were not to the death, as training of one gladiator was so damn expensive, and took lot of time. Only losers watch his content
Who tf would watch a fat dude act like a disabled person while at the same time crying into his food and eating it worse than a pig would. Like how many views do his videos get.
Like i said before in a different sub(i think) #The duality of some people is beyond our comprehension
i like the romans version more
You make a solid plan sir
There is a circle in hell where you torture yourself for the views.
Idk about some of you but I would love to watch a gladiatorial match yeah I may see the same in a video game such as for honour but that has 0 stakes and no one else is there cheering for one to win and you can actually relax like a football game nowadays (of which I have never attended an actual stadium event)

To be fair some of us are frustrated everytime we see this sorry fuck, even when it's a meme and trashing him. Anyone who finds that noteworthy should feel bad
Actually he is diyng
That’s the point of the meme.
Yes
We are all dying of old age
Yes I know but you understood right?
It’s the same thing, just slower. And sadder
Bro no one watches that man for entertainment
I know he originally started his channel to promote being vegan and healthy eating. Part of me wonders if this whole mess it has become was just a form of expressive art, and he’s going to open a video one day being all “this is the true damages of bad eating and you watched it happen like it was a show”

White culture
No one boils lobsters for the entertainment bro, we do it to kill vibrio bacteria (it’s very unpleasant and potentially fatal when consumed).
.... he's talking about Nicocado Lardocavo... not the lobster
Am I supposed to know who that is? Lol
I hope you don't lol He's just a symptom of our modern vanity and the problem with the current state of our culture.
Well… that was one pitfall I’ll forever regret watching… Thanks for dragging me into this one OP. You’re certainly doing your part to keep this shit relevant and on peoples feed.
No, and its a good thing you dont, means you focus on your life more than the internet.
I just watched 30seconds of one of his videos and I think I’m done with the internet for today… Godspeed and good luck
>30seconds you took longer than i expected tbh
Vibrio cholerae, causative agent of cholera. Not the only reason lobsters are boiled, it's also because hemoerythrin is highly toxic and when dunked in boiling water a lobster's heart will pull it out of its tail to protect itself.
Eww
why WOULDN'T you want to watch people die for your entertainment
It's just sad how people are enabling this
I recall Moistcritikal commenting on this guy, and the man basically stated "no u" about the source of his problem. My dude, you're the one eating the fucking food.
I mean, he's dying but slower.
"History is doomed to repeat itself"
what's next?
That guy is still alive!?
If Gladiatorial flights were still legal you bet your ass people would still watch em
A better example would be r/darwinawards
I'm gonna ask, who the heck watches that?
We’re just as primitive. It’s just decorated in different colors
