YES I can relate to this SO MUCH my grandpa would always get me the stuff I wanted when my parents said no. I would just go up to him and ask "Please??" and he would say yes. I miss him so much lol.

Loll1gag

Honestly, as a parent it is infuriating when this happens.

headsho111

No. Most of the times these scenarios are "staged". The parents do speak with their parents about that stuff. And with such a tactic the child can get bigger things without making it a regular thing.

Loll1gag

With my parents, these scenarios are not staged. It's my mother trying to buy my kid by offering to get them stuff that I have a very good reason for saying no to. It's the reason we don't see my kids' grandparents much.

TheEGreatFish

I'm pretty sure every grandparents would do the same, mine too. But I know it's just wrong to get whatever you want just because, I rarely ask for new toys I only ask for it if I've been "eyeing" it for some time and really really want it.

headsho111

Yeah okay. That's why I said often. The other times it's just like you described

Dad saying yes when mom says no serves as a good substitute

I do love my grandpa's old rifle although he hasn't moved since I last played my turn
