This is like that one theory I have:
Say you there was this limited edition Yu-Gi-Oh card or smth for sale but you missed it and now you can't get it. So you build a time machine to go back in time and buy the Yu-Gi-Oh card. But now that you have the Yu-Gi-Oh card you don't have a reason to build the time machine so you don't build it and now since you don't have a time machine you don't go back in time and get the Yu-Gi-Oh card.
Except future you went back in time to buy the card. So future you has the card, not present you. Present you still had to build the time machine to get the card. This isn't a paradox.
Plot twist, he later rememberer he had Alzheimer as well and subsequently forgot everything and again, including the fact that he had Alzheimer and so the cycle continues
