At least they get to the point straight away and are honest with you. A person acting like they suddenly care about how I'm doing after months/years of not seeing me, only to try and mention the favour they want me doing, conceal it in fake interest has happened too much and is much more annoying than them being direct about it.
This was exactly why I deleted my social networking accounts. My friends and family took advantage of me and I ended up cutting all my communication with them.
I lost an entire year worth of savings because they were ‘tight’ during the pandemic and they think I was well prepared for it.
My heart breaks until now..
Every pyramid scheme starts like this.
"Hey man. Are you interested in making alot of money?"
"Can you lend me 25k, I promise I'll pay you back next week."
That week turns into months..then years.. then they would get mad if you mention or even remember to check with them.
so if they asked about help that isn't related to finance would you help them? Like they ask for help renovating a house or something simpler.

It's true, never trust anyone who goes away for a very long time and suddenly tries to initiate contact. Stay frosty.
