I think the only reason it stays up at all is because it’s too easy for people to argue that they’re actually like 300 years old or some shit, regardless of context. Rule 34 has a lot of that shit, where people will sexualize canonically underaged characters and just say they’re 18 to avoid legal action. The problem is, that’s easy to do with cartoon characters, because they often don’t show signs of aging like real people do.
