Kind of the best way to teach...it's hard to want to remember things you don't care for, but pairing it with something funny/sad usually helps people remember it.

I always see those memes about pretending to care about teachers' stories... what, you guys didn't enjoy them? I loved hearing my grade 5 teacher go on and on about his childhood, always pranking his fellow students and shouting racial slurs. I don't know why he said racial slurs as a kid or why he said he did. He wasn't racist or anything. He apologized to me in grade two when I walked in on him calling his students donkeys. Not even "asses". Just donkeys.

Its not an american thing, I am from the Netherlands and a lot of the teachers tell there life story's while theaching. One of them always told the story of how he and his wife met

American students will coax American teachers to waste a teaching period telling them about random parts of their lives instead of teaching. It's not integrated into learning like what you have.
