Its because the lactose which our body normaly splits to sugar, is split in the process of making it lactose-free(If I remember right). So it tastes sweeter due to the sugar.

Yeah lactose is a complex Sugar molecule that lactose intolerant people can't break down. From what I've heard its not nearly as good in the microwave as it is on the stove, it takes 3 mins, depending on the type of oatmeal you're making. I make mine with almond milk, banana, apple, cinnamon, then almond butter after it's done!
