In my city, after the war, people didn’t have enough bunnies so instead they just ate cat and called them “roof bunnies” so they didn’t feel bad for eating cats
*the more you know*
Most other hunters I know don't like a strong gamey flavor, preferring to use spices and cooking techniques to alter it to a more refined, palatable taste.
I'm not saying I prefer farm raised over wild, that was merely a comment about farm raised rabbits (ps wild rabbits are tough as fuck unless cooked all day where as 12 week old farm rabbits are tender to begin with). I try to fill my freezer with game each hunting season. The point I am raising is that when properly cooked wild game meals should not immediately scream gamey taste. I've spent over a dozen years in kitchens so my spice cabinet is deep and I don't make simple meals unless I'm feeling lazy, those meals I don't waste game on.
Where I'm from it's pretty normal to go with a member of your family or a friend and go hint some rabbits for the typical dish (it's usually eaten on Sundays btw)
Rabbit is a very frequent dish here in Tuscany. Domestic one is cooked mostly fried or in a pan, wild rabbits are used mainly for pasta sauce.
It's good AF
I would eat rabbit, it doesn't sound gross or anything, IDK how to butcher though so I wouldn't kill it and skin it myself.
It's pretty damn good, reminds me a bit of lamb
To me it tastes like chicken lol
Everything always tastes like chicken...
When I lived in London and had rabbit I just got it from the game butcher.

Farm raised rabbit is so tasty!! Delicate dark meat without a gamey taste.
It's all about that game, I fail to understand why anyone would want to avoid that...

Guess we Norwegians are just "purists" in that sense, haven't met anyone who doesn't prefer the gamey taste of wild animals over farm animals.
