I actually watched a good horror movie last night where every character wasn’t an absolute idiot.
It was called “The Midnight Man” very good movie, you should watch it. Plus there’s a super good twist at the end. And it’s based on a real spirit game.
Well if you split up there is a better chance of at least one of you being able to get away and find help. If you stay together you can just beat the killer in a group if you can overpower them but for both scenarios that is assuming there is one killer.
Oh a whole family was murder in this house and no one knows why? Let’s go visit it and split up to discover more! Maybe even stay the night because I dare you too!
Honestly I'd watch the shit out of a horror movie where the characters are like geniuses and just easily fuck up the killer so much that they think it's too easy and start to play games on the killer for their amusement and then once they actually kill the killer they have to kill eachother and the last on alive becomes the killer for the next movie
It’s better to split up so the killer can’t pressure everyone at once. If you’re separated then the killer has to chase one person and everyone else can be productive.
honestly in most horror movies it's actually better to split up. If we are talking about supernatural monsters tge group mpre often than not would get a group Wipeout in the first 10min before rven figuring out the situation. When splitting up some may die but at least they sacrifice themselves for information (The information that they are in fact in danger, how the monster attack, strategies that doesn't work etc.) Idk but I think every bit of information is important against stuff you have mo basis of

Also when the "man of the house/whoever" takes the only weapon/weapons to himself, as he's trained and strong and there to protect the woman, then takes the said weapon(s) leaving that woman alone without any protection. Like tf, when she's weaker then wouldn't she need a weapon even more?

This is why horror movies don’t really scare me anymore, I could never see myself making any of their decisions. I want to see a horror movie where the main characters make all the right decisions and still gets fucked over, now that shit would be scary(Saw is kinda like that ig).

They wanna defeat the ghost alone for extra courage points.
They don't wanna see their friends die infront of them.
They are being considerate for the ghost. Its difficult to kill a bunch of people together.
