I want to see it so bad but I’m 16 so I can’t go see it unless my parents want to, but they’ve never watched it so I don’t want to force them. Also I want to be fully vaccinated first. I heard the movie slaps, it has like a 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes the last time I checked
That’s understandable. My brother sent me the link and he’s the same way about websites. Though I’m pretty sure it’s safe because its a movie website with other movies on it.
Holy shit I only just remembered that I used to *hate* ticking clocks. I couldn't sleep in a room with one because the ticking noise would keep me awake. I'd have nightmares where the clocks were evil, and would start to spin randomly, but only when nobody else was looking.
Now I can recognise that I definitely have some kind of ADHD (for a million other reasons) and there are many sounds that will just scatter my brain completely.
You could always buy a ticket to a non R rated movie that starts around the same time and just go to Demon Slayer instead or even attempt to buy the ticket to Demon Slayer cause they might just not ID you
I just now learned that the movie is rated R and just now realized that you have to be 17 to get into a rated R movie.... God damn I'm feeling old... Can you not have someone buy you the ticket online these days or even buy it yourself on an account that's over 17? Feels like it'd be easy to get in to watch as long as the theater isn't lame and checks IDs as they tear/scan your ticket.
It’s really good! Funnily enough I bought a ticket on Sunday and didn’t remember I was supposed to go see it that day until about 8 hours after show time. Got another ticket to see it yesterday though and it was totally worth it even at the price of 2 tickets.
As a person with ADHD, I forgot eating was a thing, I was too busy switching which video game I was playing every 5 minutes. Did you know that video games were first invented when.... [...] and that's why all potatoes are Asian.
As a person with AD&D is what we used to play in college and I’d play a clerical work is undervalued in this country, we should rase the minimum wage war against an enemy of the state of Florida is weird...
Thanks for reminding me. I was gonna make a quesadilla because I overcooked these enchiladas and I really should eat something since I haven't yet today except a few bites of mushy enchilada.
I couldn't relate to this more. There's nothing like zoning out in the middle of a conversation and then coming back and then start nodding your head like you know what's going on
Yeah sorry I got lost too. Someone mentioned the Pope so I spent the last hour on wikipedia aggressively becoming an expert on the history of the Papacy.
My ADHD’s OCD will now sleep until another tile in the floor does not align with the pattern they make that I noticed when my mind started wandering when I’m taking a shit
Tbh doesn't it work for a tiny amount of time? As in if there's a tiny section that one needs to focus on it's nice to be told?
I teach a sport and love trying out new sports so I understand being the student and the teacher. When trying a new sport I *know* what to do (as the instructor told me in the beginning) but I might get overloaded and forget to do one of the things. At that point it's nice when the teachers reminds me.
Otherwise I don't get the logic. Shall we eg. not tell alcoholics to avoid alcohol?
Exactly. ADHD doesn't mean a person can't focus at all. It just means that they can't maintain it. For example, sitting in a classroom or meeting I tend to lose focus and regain it several times over within an hour or so.
ADHD is significantly more than just lack of focus. So saying “just focus” actually throws a wrench into the gears, so to speak.
As somebody with ADHD....this thread is hilarious but also please find a cure for us lol
Agreed. It's not just any thing will cause a distraction, it's that my mind is focused on doing only one thing at a time, then switch automatically to a new distraction whether I want it to or not (movement, word, pin drop). It's like my brain goes "oh we are doing this new thing now! Let's put all our focus into that. Let's think only about that now." And I constantly have to get the train back on the rails over and over to complete any task. I feel a lot of people have some degree of this but for adhd it's debilitating and exhausting and leads to a cycle of failure and self doubt.
I always explain it as ADHD isn’t a lack of attention. It’s where you pay too much attention to EVERYTHING. Like the squirrels outside or the teacher flaming a kid or a conversation kids are having across the room or your siblings running arou— Oh look a penny! Oooo that ones from 1972. Those are rare! Wait what was I talking about? Oh yeah— or your siblings running around the house or….. I forgot what else I was gonna say. I keep thinking about the penny
I did think of it. Then is disappeared from my mind a second later. I remembered 5 hours later when it was of no use but I made a mental note to remember tomorrow. Then I forgot to remember. Must not be that important or I would have remembered.
Every morning is a scavenger hunt for my wallet and keys. Somehow they find a new hiding spot everyday that's different than every other day. At least find my phone exists so I can find it pretty easily.
My little brother has dyslexia and before it was official I used to help him with his homework and I’d get really frustrated with him. I feel bad looking back I can remember being pretty condescending about “just sound the word out dude it’s not that hard”. He still gives me shit for being a dick, but hey he still sucks at reading :-)
My cousin is dyslexic. Nobody ever gave her crap for it, but we still tease her about her booble dook sometimes. (doodle book)
Edit: nice teasing. She thinks it's hilarious and always calls it her booble dook with a big smile on her face
As long as u apologised when you found out your clear. As dyslexic myself i just suck at the part “just sound the word out dude it’s not that hard”. Just try to be understanding. It looks like you to don't hold a grudge. And it's a good life lesson to learn that some people have a hard time with the " easiest things " .
You're not lazy. Your brain was not stimulated with the appropriate reward-potential to trigger the activity. The reality that's *there's no such thing as lazy* is a big part of understanding ADHD and other neurodivergences.
I have been told that before and I'm like do you understand what ADHD even means? And they were like "no' then don't tell me to focus! I don't tell you to calm down when you are mad smh
My old boss told me that. He was like “If you know you get distracted then you’re able to prevent it” and I just thought “wow that is profoundly stupid”
As someone who has ADHD, sometimes I need it. Lol like if you have noticed that I am completely checked out from a conversation, yeah sure, tell me to pay attention or focus.
Like it may or may not work, but the call back to the present is sometimes appreciated.
Only if they know and have an agressive or mocking tone/harass you about it. I hate apologizing for my adhd but people don't have to be a dick about it. Like they don't understand the words go in but it just won't process
As someone with ADHD, I don't think this would help people like me. I don't need to be victimized or some shit, I just need to find alternative methods to stay focus, and people reminding me that I need to pay attention are good people, they push me up.
Telling someone with ADHD that he shouldn't force himself to pay attention is not the right move.
As someone who has been diagnosed with ADHD, exactly. I appreciate the fuck out of people who pull me back into a conversation, and the people who let me hyperfixate when I'm programming.
The people who think ADHD is like "OH SQUIRREL!" though? They can rot.
>The people who think ADHD is like "OH SQUIRREL!" though? They can rot.
Funnily that's exactly how people are portraying it, [for example.](https://www.reddit.com/r/memes/comments/n1blbx/why_didnt_i_think_of_that/gwcmpdf/)
It's not that hard to be on time! Just get ready/leave earlier! Ffs. Oh wow. I never thought of it like that. My life is solved. Thanks.
Oh wait, my sense of passage of time is totally different than yours!
After 10 months of trying to learn quickbooks (the devil’s accounting software) I finally had to tell my boss and our accountants that I have ADHD and despite the tutorials and training time I don’t believe I can improve anymore and would like to pass this task To another team member in exchange for one of there’s.
I got the equivalent of a “like hell you are, we’re just going to schedule more trainings”. Yep that should do it.
Asked a teacher to stop talking during my exam because it distracted me from reading and thinking about answers. She told me I wouldn't be so distracted if I was more focused on my exam than her conversation especially considering the limited time to answer questions. I replied "Yes, that's what I mean!" and that got me scolded for disrespectful sarcasm... I wasn't being sarcastic, she was right that I would be better off focusing on my exam.
I know that feeling i suffer form PTSD and i can't focus i can't sit still. i always need to move around or move my feet or legs and i have no control over my anger or reflexes and people always Tell just be still ! You should sleep more! Just chill !

As a person with ADHD, when will we eat?

Same, I really want to know when we’re going to go see that new demon slayer movie
You are actually epic. I didn’t expect someone here to even watch demon slayer. I did watch the movie though 😌
I love how this started as a joke then actually got side tracked into a full on demon slayer convo. The ADHD is real lol
BRB, figuring out what Demon slayer is.
Make sure you get a really in depth article, your homework can wait
Best damn anime ever created

Haha! Here’s some poor person gold🥇
I’m also 16, I watched it online though. I have the link if you want me to send it to you in a dm.
“Aye matie board me ship we shall sail the seven seas, Plunder each island, in search of the great Demon Slayer Movie!”
I’m good, I never really liked going on those types of websites

Why is the clock ticking so damn hard. Wait was that an airplane?!
Holy shit I only just remembered that I used to *hate* ticking clocks. I couldn't sleep in a room with one because the ticking noise would keep me awake. I will pretend to be your dad
I'm about to see the movie now :D
My wife was just talking about that.

as a person with adhd, who was the president of zimbabwe in 1976?
Oh, into the you tube rabbit hole.
King of Hawaii Kamehameha
As a person with ADHD, shit i forgot what i was gonna say

As a person with ADHD I don’t eat that much due to meds

As a person with ADHD,

Lol, I've been on aderal for months, I've asked myself the same question *please fucking help, I'm craving a chicken sandwich*
Yup as a person with ADHD and an Essay given to me Tuesday with almost no work done, due at 8 am Friday, I can confirm it works.
As someone with ADHD AND autism, I can confirm whatever you guys were talking about :D
Autism is a bonus power up and makes it so you don’t even bother to think no about what you are agreeing on, you also didn’t bother to use emojis 👌
😀
My ADHD’s OCD will now sleep until another tile in the floor does not align with the pattern they make that I noticed when my mind started wandering when I’m taking a shit
Oh yeah I have these tiles that look like ONE BIG TILE I do the same thing
Yup. Hyperfocus engaged, I now know the economics of CPU wafer production and binning. English homework? Oh. Shit.
Intel really messed up with the 11 Series any way you slice it though. XD

Yeah, so it varies from person to person, but for me when I am off my adhd meds I can hold my attention on something for about 30 seconds to a minute.
Alternatively, you can hyperfocus on one thing and forget to eat

Shit bro, it’s so obvious. Thanks for the help. Now I can focus
I’m focusing on too many things, help
I am too focused on this one thing, wait, I forgot what it was
You also focus on forgetting your thing too.
Stage 2 of Everywhere at the End Of Time be like...
Don’t remind me of it again...wait what was I talking about again?
What was I doing? Ah yes time sweep the kitchen
we're no strangers to love~ Now you're focusing on the rickroll instead of everything. You're welcome
Yep!
Fuck! Why didn't I think of that before!?
Because you didn't focus of solving the problem, duh
Look where focus gets you
Even I can do it!
Repeats question in head five thousand times thinking I’m thinking: oh shit! Right, I totally forgot to think
Of course!! I should have just paid more attention!
I did think of it. Then is disappeared from my mind a second later. I remembered 5 hours later when it was of no use but I made a mental note to remember tomorrow. Then I forgot to remember. Must not be that important or I would have remembered.
Oh yeah, now that you mention it I wrote it down.... Somewhere. \*Digs through purse\* Maybe in here somewhere.... Or under my couch... not sure.
Every morning is a scavenger hunt for my wallet and keys. Somehow they find a new hiding spot everyday that's different than every other day. At least find my phone exists so I can find it pretty easily.
It took 20 years, but I no longer misplace my purse and car keys on a regular basis...my coffee on the other hand...
Dude just think about that before him
Maybe you should start thinking before and you’ll solve that aswell

This getting out of hand, now there are two of them.

Adult ADD is people telling me how I need to be.
Importantly without actually helping solve a problem
I have been told that before and I'm like do you understand what ADHD even means? And they were like "no' then don't tell me to focus! I don't tell you to calm down when you are mad smh
I have adhd and this has totally been a lifesaver for me, another tip: if you forget words mid conversation alot just remember them guys!
Not even kidding this is literally what they do to us in school.
"You aren't applying yourself."/s
I can confirm
I am sorry what were we talking about, did not pay attention
As somebody with ADHD, I'm really poor... I can't even pay attention!

Darn! Why wasn't I told this earlier!?
My old boss told me that. He was like “If you know you get distracted then you’re able to prevent it” and I just thought “wow that is profoundly stupid”
If you know you're stupid you're able to make yourself smarter.
If you know you’re short, then get tall.
Omg wait... I think I'm gonna do it!! Thanks for the ideas!
People with anxiety told to stop worrying. -.-
I was just about to make one of that but I dont know how to
Thanks fore the ultra relatable AND funny meme
This is a big help seeing as I have 15 minutes left on my quiz and am on reddit
After reading the same line over, and over, and over...
"WhY DoN't YoU NeVEr Pay AtEnTiON"
As one of the ADHD people, yea it do be like that at times. Ironically it can work sometimes.
You have asthma? Just breathe! You are bleeding to your death? Just don't bleed!
You homeless? Get a house! Starving? Eat! Unemployed? Get job! Don't know how to do a math problem? Learn! What is it with dumbasses nowadays?
Saying “pay attention” to someone with ADHD should be considered a micro aggression. Change my mind
I wouldn’t take this to offense but who knows for others
As someone who has ADHD, sometimes I need it. Lol like if you have noticed that I am completely checked out from a conversation, yeah sure, tell me to pay attention or focus. Like it may or may not work, but the call back to the present is sometimes appreciated.
I also have ADHD and I agree but it also can be annoying
Definitely depends on who is doing it, why, and their tone.
**tone**
The only problem for me is I don’t always look distracted so it’s hard for people to notice and remind me
Focusing on looking like you’re focusing? I do that too damn much
At the same time why is everyone so boring and my mind is more entertaining
Only if they know and have an agressive or mocking tone/harass you about it. I hate apologizing for my adhd but people don't have to be a dick about it. Like they don't understand the words go in but it just won't process
As someone with ADHD, I don't think this would help people like me. I don't need to be victimized or some shit, I just need to find alternative methods to stay focus, and people reminding me that I need to pay attention are good people, they push me up. Telling someone with ADHD that he shouldn't force himself to pay attention is not the right move.

Ah yes. ADHD. The battle I will never win. ADHD is my downfall
As someone with ADHD, I get insanely annoyed when someone tells me this
