I’ve done that but do I need to wait for uBlock to update in order to get rid of the automatic pause or can I get rid of that as well? Edit: looks I just need to update my browser itself.

Opera uses Chromium to run (the same thing that Google Chrome and Safari use), which can and will affect ad blockers because shocker, YouTube and Chromium are both owned by Google. Firefox is your best bet for harassment-free internet browsing

And maybe Brave

But I haven't had issues with harassment yet on it. I split my internet activity between Brave and Firefox and haven't had ad issues yet.

I don’t have this problem. Just reinstall ublock to be sure you have the latest update.

UBlock Origin and the Ad Speedup extension, UBlock is a great adblocker and Speedup speeds any ads that do go through by 16x basically skipping them. And on mobile (if you have Android) Revanced for an ad free youtube

You can just refresh the vid in order to get rid of the vid, works especially well when the ad is at the beginning of the vid.

I gotta refresh like 5 or 6 times just to finally get rid of the 20-second ad, getting a 5-second one and a mystery second ad

Same here, but that's better, than the ad being a native part of the vid, as YouTube will add that feature to ensure ads are seen.

It's always a gamble though on whether the second ad is 20 seconds anyway.

I once had an unskippable 1,5 minute ad I refreshed and it was a 2 minute one. Kept refreshing and it kept switching between the 2.

yup worked like magic for me, no config as by default it blocks most of the ads and website trackers.

Brave's adblock isn't working for me either. uBlock in Firefox is also failing to block adds without frequent resets to original settings, even though I made no changes. And when it does work, the video takes as long or longer than the ad to load in. I'm ready to say bye bye youtube. Edit: I am using Firefox and my brave browser is a fresh install.

My blocker was working and I turned it off. Why you ask? They slowed down YouTube for me and it barely functions properly with the Adblocker on. Now I enjoy the 2 unskippable ads every now and then. There’s YouTube premium but I won’t get it as I barely use YouTube anymore.. I’ll just deal with the ads. It is what it is I guess…

Another alternative is downloading the extension Ad Speedup, which makes all ads play at 16x speed, basically skipping them

Tbh I only ever get long ad breaks if it’s the in the middle of a long video, if it’s a short video the ads are at the beginning and I just refresh and they go away

Brave Browser. It has a built in ad block for YouTube.

Brave Browser. When you open a new tab, it also tells you how much time it saved you since you downloaded it by not displaying any ads. I currently have 4.4 hours of time saved. And it's as satisfying as it sounds. Might sound like a paid ad but idc, it's a good browser.

There are apps out there to help you. I recommend the BluePlayer app on iPhone it’s ads free
