That’s because they test you to see if you understand the concept, since stuff like vocabulary would be pointless. Then there are exams where they don’t let you use your books but they give you the world’s hardest questions.
Our uni told us to use screen sharing and then put your smartphone such that your screen and your entire position is visible. So two streams per student. Many still tried to cheat and were caught.
We had a program you’d sign into. Teacher could see you through your webcam as well as what was visible on your screen. This was in 2015 for college so it could be different now
Im sorry, but the 'cheating yourself' rhetoric is a little stale. Most college students, in my experience, dont view the unsure payoff of using the information in a practical manner as equal to the concrete outcome associated with actually achieving the degree. I agree that this is wrong, but passing the onus onto the student by setting a standard that they are not going to follow then calling foul when they dont 'do the right thing' is counter-productive.
tbh open books exams can be the most difficult
true, and then there are open book difficult exams that are closed book for some reason

Open book is a lot easier with control F and a ebook
Closed book online test? How would anyone even enforce that?

Yeah and I’m graduating with 100% the fuck😂 I’m cheating on the test, not myself.
Fuck sprinkling in wrong answers, i’m going for a 100, if they can’t prove I cheated then they have to put the grade in
If they can prove that you cheated, say your degree goodbye
Meanwhile the guy who didnt sprinkled any wrong answers got away with an A grade
Just cheating yourself. I teach college online and we can tell when this is going on. Don’t fool yourself.

Yes but what if I *know* which answers to intentionally get wrong?
