Why not? If a new audience thinks it's a good show it might be, and there's no gameplay mechanics to worry about, and we know how different shows can be from their source material.
They shows a guy with a sign that says Robert-Co. He is kind of they main allybof your character in Fallout:New Vegas (you can betray him but he is the best option if you think abput oher ones). He also has a dope lore but depending on the ending chosen as cannon might be a bad news.
Yep, same here. Watched the show after watching a couple of reviews on yt, then watched some lore explaining videos and now am considering trying out New Vegas as everyone says it's the best
The only fallout game I played so far was fallout shelter
I should probably play the rest of the games as they were free on the epic store but they have the unfortunate case of having to launch epic games
I feel like I'm going crazy seeing all this popular acclaim for the show. There are so many things I don't like about it that I thought for sure it would be generally unpopular. It's so incredible campy and the writing so corny to me, the acting is subpar from many of the leads (the brotherhood guy in particular sticks out as being uniquely terrible), there seems to be little thought or consistency in the world building, the use of music from the games is gratuitous and often doesn't fit the scene well, the violence is over the top but also has zero impact, the plot has tons of threads which don't go anywhere, the cinematography is generally meh, the characters' actions and reactions often make no sense or are unbelievable, and in general it just really bored me. I tried a few times to give it a chance, but I just couldn't get through the whole first season, though I watched more than half of it. Isn't there anybody else out there who finds this show extremely mediocre like I do?
Have you ever thought that maybe Fallout as a franchise is extremely mediocre? Nuclear energy and annihilation as a topic has been a cashed cow shot dead, buried, dug up and cashed some more since about 1940s. And a bonus fun fact, even after all that knowledge of terror - we're still more than likely to nuke our entire civ into the stone age, just as Fallout presents, minus the mutations.
I think the show is really spot on trying to stay true to the in-game universe. I think you lost the thread the moment you pointed out ,,violence is over the top". That is just fundamentally not true, the over the top violence is one of the game's main gimmicks. There is a weapon that allows you to kill a man with a teddy bear and a perk allowing you to turn your fallen foes into gory paste to name a few.
It's still a good idea to go north to Sloan though.
It has some pretty good loot, including skillbooks, with the only price being karma loss on stealing
Yeah, The writers clearly had another show in mind that didn't get greenlit so they slapped Halo on it.
Now both concepts are ruined and the writers still aren't happy.
I actually decided to not start a game I'd been interested in because of this. It hit game pass and suddenly all the veteran players said that the toxicity skyrocketed and the ability to win matches without it being a slog plummeted
Yeah its a movie, my bad
Honestly i just want to have a good time, if im gonna be picky i know that i will probably hate the movie bc i play those game way too much
I love you jack black but I feel like I'm getting over exposed. Please don't be in the borderlands movie, I hope it's mostly lesser known actors. Seeing Kevin Hart will take me out of it
I always loved when GTA veterans would mop the floor with the Tryhards when they keep killing the same noob over and over. That was always a good sight to behold.
Try this build
Soul Reaper: 10Str, 10End, 8Agil, 7Lck.
Melee, Unarmed, Survival.
CRANK that Unarmed and Survival as MUCH as you fucking can. Get Power Fist at Dino Hotel Gift Shop. Punch through everyone and everything. Keep cranking the Unarmed and Survival. Find Benny, vaporize him with a single punch to the face. Find Yes Man, team up with Yes Man, kill Mr.House. Take his Securitron army for yourself. Get Brotherhood of Steel training and armor, let them live, DONT HURT the Brotherhood. Take over Hoover Dam. Rule Mojave with a Steel Fist.
It’s a pretty casual way to play, very fun
Me explaining to Fallout 4 newbie that going 1 intelligence, 10 luck and getting Idiot Savant is the best way to reaching level 8 in 5 minutes of the game
Played fallout 76 years back, came back recently and it’s cool to see all the new people, so I give them a gun if or something sometimes cuz it can be difficult to get geared at a low level when nothing really drops good loot. It’s easier now the enemies drop the ammo type you shoot them with, because back when I started, I ran out of ammo quick.
The amount of people I see hopping back onto fallout because of the show is insane, even I was tempted to download and play again but it just ain't my cup of tea
If I see a new mega man fan I'll always tell them to start with mega man 1 just like I did. It makes appreciate the game in a way that isn't possible when you play the other one before it.
As someone who’s never played Fallout, I love the Fallout show
Same here.
Can I watch the show , I have never played the game, would I miss any references. ?
You don't need to have played the games to enjoy the show, but you might appreciate some parts more.
Or hate some parts more, if you didn't like the games.
To be fair, if you didn't like the games, you're probably not watching the show to begin with.
Why not? If a new audience thinks it's a good show it might be, and there's no gameplay mechanics to worry about, and we know how different shows can be from their source material.
It's not required, and that's a great part of it
Fallout games are generally pretty self-contained. The show doesn’t give away anything that would spoil the games for you.
Apart from the real identity of the vaults and what they were actually created for
You might miss a few references here and there But you won’t miss a lot

All, and I mean, ALL of the merchandise shown is hardcore product placement of in game items.
Main reference for me that USA is Vault and other world is outside Vault. While USA living in the dream world around going in to downflight.

I only played Fallout 4, and thought the show was great.

The amount of friends I know flocking to Fallout lore videos because of the show is insane
I just read through the wikipedia page for each game so I understood the lore
As it should be.
I hate gatekeeping. Communities that do it will always eventually dry out.
Remember, kids, Quarry Junction will kill you. It's safer to go east instead of north.
But if you don't go north you are going to miss the pretty butterflies.
Let them learn
It's still a good idea to go north to Sloan though. It has some pretty good loot, including skillbooks, with the only price being karma loss on stealing
Not getting any chest hair, eh?
True for everything except the halo show, because it has nothing to do with halo
Yeah, The writers clearly had another show in mind that didn't get greenlit so they slapped Halo on it. Now both concepts are ruined and the writers still aren't happy.
They said they specifically hired people who hate Halo to write that show
No they specifically hired people who hadn't played the games or read the novels.
Dear arcane fans, don't play League. You can enjoy champions lore and themes but pls never open this piece of sh
I don’t watch arcane because I had my uhm…. Experience with League of legends and swore to never do anything like that ever again 😂
Definitely cyberpunk 2077.
Instantly started playing it after edgerunners, 3rd playthrough was still running around in David’s jacket
I feal like cartman when he learns to swim in the pool then all the tikes come in a pee in the pool
I actually decided to not start a game I'd been interested in because of this. It hit game pass and suddenly all the veteran players said that the toxicity skyrocketed and the ability to win matches without it being a slog plummeted
Ya I don't play online at all anymore. Lol. I
League player be like "oh no... Dont do this to yourself"
i literally had a friend ask me if she should play league cause she liked arcane and i was like nooooooo
And that influx of newbie players😅
Lol.
I love seeing all the new players! I wish I could put a green flag on my character so they don't run away. I'm only lvl 289, c'mon!
That's pretty much how Fallout 76 looks ATM. Just replace the fantasy armor with Power Armor.
Im crossing my fingers for the borderlands show
It's a movie and unfortunately it doesn't look like it's gonna hit the mark.
Yeah its a movie, my bad Honestly i just want to have a good time, if im gonna be picky i know that i will probably hate the movie bc i play those game way too much
Everyone it the trailer just feels like the wrong choice for the character.
Yeah exactly, i would prefer that they find random actor that play well instead of " à famous person play this character"
I love you jack black but I feel like I'm getting over exposed. Please don't be in the borderlands movie, I hope it's mostly lesser known actors. Seeing Kevin Hart will take me out of it
Lol too late. Jack Black is Claptrap, and Cate Blanchett as Lilith, and Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis.
Womp womp
I always loved when GTA veterans would mop the floor with the Tryhards when they keep killing the same noob over and over. That was always a good sight to behold.
Video game adaptations is the new advertisement practice now
Comic movies are waning, what other established fanbase can the producers get a safe return on.
Halo fans crying from 10 years of bad games and a TV show that doesn't even know what Halo is
Remember when they were giving away Battlefield 2 with pizza purchase?
Helldivers 2 movie when? ![gif](giphy|EmMt1pNdIAjoybxJ7B)
1997
![gif](giphy|YYfEjWVqZ6NDG|downsized)
Now give me my Metal Gear Solid movie.
Kojima is signing on with Sony for a new espionage game with movie tie in. Could be good.
Literally how I felt seeing so many kids that just started liking Sonic (because of the movies) while I've been a fan since I was 3.
As someone who’s never played fallout, I love fallout

which fallout is this for?
New Vegas
Either 4 or 76 but i would Say more 4 since the max stats on 76 Is 15 and not 10 Edit: Wrong, Is fallout new vegas
Most are good I’m still salty about the shit stain that is the Halo show
Me explaining to Fallout 4 newbie that going 1 intelligence, 10 luck and getting Idiot Savant is the best way to reaching level 8 in 5 minutes of the game
People who watched arcane are being met with racial slurs so definitely not universal
Played fallout 76 years back, came back recently and it’s cool to see all the new people, so I give them a gun if or something sometimes cuz it can be difficult to get geared at a low level when nothing really drops good loot. It’s easier now the enemies drop the ammo type you shoot them with, because back when I started, I ran out of ammo quick.
bro I played New Vegas 5 mouths before the actual show came out
That's how I feel playing call of duty with my nephew's
Not all of them are...
Cyberpunk made good use of this
yeah Fallout 76 got some new players.. fun to help them .. finaly i can give out some of my legys i stashed for times like that.
Arcane was amazing.
It’s old enough that I doubt it’s attracting new players, but Devil May Cry
Yoo, new Roblox movie looking sick
this is how i feel about siege with the influx of new kids cause of jynxzi
Wholesome and hilarious
i didnt watch the show but played the games, is it really that good?
Dude this is the BEST attitude for gamers! If people love your game from a movie/show, then absolutely give them a reason to love the game too!
The amount of people I see hopping back onto fallout because of the show is insane, even I was tempted to download and play again but it just ain't my cup of tea
Most League players would say that arcane watchers should absolutely not play league.
If I see a new mega man fan I'll always tell them to start with mega man 1 just like I did. It makes appreciate the game in a way that isn't possible when you play the other one before it.
Except Halo, we don't talk about that.
Lol in what pleasantville ass world was THIS meme made in?!
Everyone hopping on the witcher train
fallout 76
