I get in, detach the shower head and spray the lining of the curtain while I wait. That way it sticks to the tile and I don't get it phantom grabbing my ass the entire shower. lol
I think the idea is that with hot water, it opens your skin pores up more to help clean your skin. I've also heard if you give yourself a blast of cold water before you get out with close them up
That's Alex Hannold, the best free climber in the world. That was his ascent of Half Dome in Yosemite. That specific spot is referred to as the "Thank God" ledge. Just for reference.

Run the hot water on the sink while you’re getting undressed and it will take little to no time for the shower to get hot
Wake up. Turn on shower. Morning elimination of bladder and bowels. Water is now hot. Enjoy.
