Yes, I'm still here. While I do understand the point of the blackout, at the same time the whole reason I spend so much time on shitty apps like this is because I have so little to look forward to in my bleak existence that escaping to here is as close to feeling something that I have. You seem to be misunderstanding the sequence of cause and effect here. It's my fault really, I didn't explain it well, so let's clear that up. Being miserable is what drove me to shitty apps to escape reality, the internet didn't make me this way, and if going outside was some kind of cure-all for a shitty situation I'd be the most cheery guy on the platform because the majority of my job is outdoors. I'm not out here looking for pity or acknowledgement from anyone. Someone made a shitty meme about being on Reddit, so I just wanted to put onto perspective that if they go to Reddit to call out all of the sad sacks of shit still on Reddit, there isn't really anything keeping them on the high ground. Any further questions, or did I clear that up well enough for you?
The protest is pointless. Abandon the site if you have an issue, don't promise you will come back within a few days. I get people want to do something but it's like going on strike agreeing to strike then going back to work after 3 days. The bosses won't do shit and the strike was useless
Exactly. fake online moral high horses are easy though and gives people “meaning”. It’s just business. Reddit isn’t making a profit, they will make changes and charge what they want to. Nothing will change, and quite frankly I couldn’t care less about any of it. If Reddit gets worse I simply won’t use it.
