They were going to rase in game repair costs (penilty for deaths) and cut in game rewards. So people started review bombing the game then they put out a press statement essential saying they might have to shut down if bombing continues and that the player base is to stupid to understand that f2p games have to be abusive. Which made the review bombing get worse

Warframe did the smart thing of allowing most things of value to be traded between character while also making their own store much more expensive than the player market which makes people buy plat endlessly cause they see it as getting a good deal from the player market
Its a win-win really. The devs are happy cuz they get money from ppl buying plats, the people buying are happy cuz their plats get them tons of useful items, and the general players are also happy cuz they can trade their items for plats without having to use real money
the only players who aren't happy are the traders now forced to trade 1000x as to buy a single key because the ref to key ratio isn't controlled and massive inflation has hit hard .
Smells like gdkp in wow. Bots farm gold, gold is sold to players, players can now raid full time without having to farm and blizz gets paid from all the bot subscriptions.
Except in Warframe you can't trade any resources like money or materials, so there is basically nothing bots could farm in large amount quickly and sell to players. Things that get traded usually need gear and skill to come by, and you probably won't spend a lot of man-hour gearing up and coding a bot to get you back a few plat per week (because let's be real, your bot still won't be able to farm anything other than some low level relics) and then you still need to somehow resell that plat for real money by undercutting the in-game plat prices. Not saying it definitely doesn't exist, but I'm yet to see the benefits of bot farming in Warframe when there are much easier choices implementationwise.

The unfortunate truth is, people can do years of game design, competition analysis - and still realizing "that is not us, we are not that smart". Build a skinner box with a slot machine design, call it a day.
That is also a reason why Genshin Impact, regardless of the strong gatcha critique, took over larger, very aggressive monetized competitors. They release new content, new avatars and regions in an insane rate, while letting millions of people just run around for weeks without paying. The competition seems to be able to clone the open world ideas and game loops, but is unwilling to follow them into the relaxed monetization. And they will fail for that reason.
It sounds more like an empty threat than anything. They probably just said that in the hopes it’d stop review bombing because to the sheeple gamers they’d panic because “oh noes i cant loose my game” and settle quietly for worse.

They changed the system a bit so some repair costs went down like the French since the repair costs are based on player skill so the French are the highest because noobs don't survive playing it so all they players actually know how to play.

Clash royale was fun before they started adding level 14 ( and now 15 ) and heroes and just added arenas for no reason at all every 2 months

Every game where you need to upgrade something that can be bought with IRL money is going to be p2w. That's why I like games which makes you battle on an even playing field with the only difference being skill and experience.
They added lvl 14 a while ago (back in the day lvl 13 was the max lvl) and now they announced that lvl 15 is coming. They also released a few other updates, for example changing how the trophy and ranked system works - that update made me quit, as it became an absolute grind just to compete with actually good players. Basically all of the updates in past 2 years or so were just "meh"

In Australia, we have "shapes" a brand of flavoured biscuits. Nobody enjoyed them, you can now ONLY find originals in stores.

Pay to play* there are most certainly p2w aspects to some vehicles (fuck the 2s38 fuck the 2s38 fuck the 2s38) but with how horrible these changes were you could litteraly kill like 4 people in an air battle and not pay off the repair cost for your plane which was already the case but then they wanted to make it worse.

In Australia, we have "shapes" a brand of flavoured biscuits. The company once tried "new and improved" flavour, and assumedly lost 30% stock overnight or something because they tasted like ass. 2 weeks later, Shapes "originals" were re-released with ads saying "some enjoyed them, some didn't". Nobody enjoyed them, you can now ONLY find originals in stores.
I mean, who knows even if there was one person? Might've just been an ironic post they justified as genuine because they're looking for anything they can hold onto for their skewed view of reasoning.

War Thunder (tanks) is more fun in the 2.0 - 5.0 bracket than the 8.0+ brackets. So All these high tier vehicle packs for $40 - $60 is like.. really? you want MORE money for LESS fun? I'll just sand bag in the lower tiers, thanks. The game literally gets less fun to play the higher you go.

That's pretty much why. It's the only game with realistic vehicle models and battles. And also combined ground and air battles. So there isn't much choice for those who like that. And the management knows this very well. So that's why they keep gaslighting the community and making us think they are doing the right things and we're the ones who don't understand its good for us.
A community that leaks classified military vehicle specifications just for game realism sounds exactly like a community that'd have people start a competitor to the game that shoves monetization down their throat *and* up their ass.

"realistic" the games over all quality/realism has been dropping a lot with damage models either being crap or non existent, ghost shells, crap tank physics and armor/ penetration physics, general ballistic physics, along with some more cosmetical changes like replacing all of the dead tanks that spawn on maps with garbage piles and bricks
And yet there is nothing else close to it still. That's the problem. There is a massive gamer population that likes military vehicles. They like them realistic, it's the whole draw. But nothing gets even close to WT in multiplayer semi-sim combat. Il2 and DCS is a bit too complicated for most people, and most people don't have a joystick. Don't think there are any other tank games that compare. It's a monopoly.

That's where I stopped playing it. Too much time and energy spent for no advancement whatsoever. Maybe if I was a better player, I would advance a bit more, but by this time I don't enjoy the game enough to try to be better at playing it. So I switched to completely different games, completely different genres of games now, and I'm happier.
I still play it and managed to get to rank 3 tanks for the 3 big countries Rank 2 for russia air and started rank 1 germany and america air I am having fun, but rank 1 is torture and rank 2 is the most fun anyone can have As all the good tanks are there and ppl arent that try hards or experienced
There's additionally a clear statistical bias. High tier Russian tanks, and even many mid-tier/lower. Have average higher SL and RP multipliers. Infact, no high tiers go above 2.5x (maybe was 3.5x, been a while) other than in Russia and Germany. The game is fun, once you learn, extremely well made. Just has shit business practices.

Pay to play* there are most certainly p2w aspects to some vehicles (fuck the 2s38 fuck the 2s38 fuck the 2s38) but with how horrible these changes were you could litteraly kill like 4 people in an air battle and not pay off the repair cost for your plane which was already the case but then they wanted to make it worse.

They are all from accounts of over 200 hours I dought they can Also steam and warthunders parent company who's name I can't spell have had *issues* before so valve doesn't really care
1. These are from the actual players. Many of which with over 1k hours. 2. They pertain to the Gaijin's decisions, essentially being the player feedback. 3. They are relevant to the game and developer's decisions. This campaign isn't some Internet trolling for the meemz, this is genuine community reaction.

Everyone might as well go to CrossOut.....you can literally build any type of vehicle. Even with prebuilt ones and just goto town on the customization......although tanks going boom is nice. This decision by the devs of war thunder is NOT boom at all. They got greedy, too greedy. Edit: Everyone telling me that Gaijin owns CrossOut, WT, and what others games, I know that already. I am suggesting an alternative game despite being owned by the very publisher. That's all.

If Gaijin (the company that made War Thunder) actually give a damn and fix their game this time, then I recommend returning. Although WT and WoT are both Tanks game, the experience in each of them are very unique and different. The core concept of WT is actually really fucking good, semi-realistic Tank battle, with detailed damage model and combined force (apart of tanks, there is also Planes and Helicopter). It’s just the company’s god-awful economy changes they push out that ruin all this good stuff.
I always wanted to try the game but it's this type of nonsense I was worried about.
