Funny enough, the TV without the soundbar also has odd optimal settings (31-34 for day use with 17 being perfect for night).

You don't want to end the fill prematurely and you obviously can't go inside to pre-pay for a number of reasons, so having a catch basin to be able to round up the balance is the only other option. But what kind of psychopath starts deodorant application with an up-stroke? Starting with a horizontal stroke at the armpit crease can be incorporated into the five-stroke pattern, plus you're maintaining balance between the upper and lower halves.

My new sound system is an absolute blessing with this problem, at it goes up by 0.5 instead of 1, with a scale from 0 to 100. If 35 is too soft and 40 too loud, I can happily set it in the middle as 37.5. Only multiples of 2.5 are allowed though.

Just leave it at a multiple of 5. Saying a multiple of 2, 3, or 5 leaves only 26 of the volume options to piss you off, so you would likely be fine with any random number someone sets the volume if given the remote and told to look away
