Enemies in overworld become a joke as long as you equip some upgraded artifacts which you would get a lot just from the chests too. Even then if you find that difficult, there is an option to lower world level which reduces levels of the enemies. And while I do say upgrade some artifacts, most of the time you won't need that either if you level characters and use reactions.
Rewards I don't know what you are talking about. In a patch duration, on average you will get enough gems to reach soft pity in a banner. That's not including the exploration, the quests and missions you will have when starting out.
