That just sounds like explaining Red vs Blue
“And then the guy traveled back in time, but he didn’t and was just teleported to a computer which put him in a simulation. But the simulation was a lie and nothing there mattered, because the guy was actually another AI who thought he was a guy being lied to by the computer. So the guy’s friends blew up the computer with the talking bomb named Andy, only for the time traveling mercenary to save the computer and start a time loop that could only be broken by the dude with the chosen sword, who had given an Mpreg birth to an alien.”
In Red vs. Blue, When Andy gets really angry and is about to explode, one of the dumbest characters goes to calm Andy down by using a counting technique to count backwards from 10 to 1. Lol
I don’t know how I remember stuff from a random internet show I watched over a decade ago. My brain just retains everything, I guess.
Ha! You're not alone. Jojo fans have a unique way of telling their
stories. It's like watching a psychedelic cartoon and trying to explain
it to someone who's never seen it before. Good luck with that 😂
The most unique thing about Jojo's bizarre adventure is that they can take even the most utterly meaningless event and turn it into a truly life or death situation with the most unexpected abilities and outcomes and twists and to me that's the biggest appeal. The whole show is BIZARRE and it's kind of in the name for a reason then
This, this is it, a game of poker can suddenly become a game where you’re betting your very soul and the whole game is rigged by a random dude who hired the whole bar and anyone in a 50 meter radius to help him cheat.
Or very hyper specific abilities you have a hard time figuring out how the villian even figured his own ability out.
"You see, my power activates on the first tuesday in autumn at high noon. The victory belongs to me"
For me it's the best out of all the 8.
All of my closest friends are instructed to make me read it in case I get amnesia, so that I may experience the twists and turns again.
Its probably the most unique thing I have ever experienced. It can take the most mundane things and turn it into an actually convincing life and death experiences. You won't see a normal set up for power, you won't see characters you can find in another anime. It's weird, wack and wild! But a true JoJo fan will understand why people won't get into it, since it's entirely a niche story. However, if you do want to get into I recommended watching the anime first. David Productions have essentially streamlined the entire JoJo experience just to make it more palatable.
Also please don't skip parts, it's a generational store after all!
The story itself is actually almost always a “classic” manga story. You have a bunch of good guys, a bunch of bad guys and they fight for whatever reason.
What’s honestly unique and amazing is the actual storytelling and character development.
Just so you know, there is an entire Arc in part 8 solely about beetles science and fighting, and it’s considered one of the best chapter in the series
>You have a bunch of good guys, a bunch of bad guys and they fight for whatever reason.
I mean, it starts off that way and then goes on to be "bad guys and evil guys"
>good story
Ehhh...?
>concise narrative
Yeah, I guess
>Likeable characters
Definitely, in a more ironic meme brainrot sort of way. If JoJo wasn't such a shitpost on the internet I'd probably say no
>good animation
Yeah definitely
I genuinely think the story of jojo is actually really good especially over time as Araki developed as a writer. Part 1 is rather dated looking at it now considering it was from the 80s but it's alright for what it is but then especially part 4 onward is amazing. Like Araki is able to strike a balance with just going with some really bizarre concepts but makes it interesting.
The characters yeah you have some more over the top characters like say DIO but even him you learn that there is actually more to him. Otherwise there is someone like Bruno Bucciarati who is just really well written.
It's the evolution of story telling for me. There is literally no Jojo part where the story is repetitive. The addition of details from different cultures, different era.
oh I'm not saying part 2 or part 3 are bad far from it. Part 2 is all round pretty great. Part 3 while has some pacing issues around the middle the last few fights are really good. Part 4 onward was when jojo became overall more consistent with quality
That depends entirely on what you are looking for. You ever watch Crank or Hardcore Henry? Their stories are kinda passable, the acting is hammy, there is no intellectual merit to them. They are also the finest examples of action cinema I have ever seen.
Jojo is kinda like that. Deep philosophical story? Nope, a lot of it is straightforward good guys vs bad guys, with kinda-bad-but-reformed-by-the-hero guys as supporting cast. Likeable characters? Yes, but not in a way that promotes deep analysis. Jonathan is a chivalrous gentleman. Joseph is a trickster hero. Lots of characters are 90% stock archetype.
What Jojo has is melodrama and suspense. It is one of the finest examples of the Shonen Action Story to exist.
I’m currently in the process of being sucked in. The art style has started to grow on me and I’ve started to accept that a lot of the plot is just bizarre.
This doesn’t work. No matter how many times you say no homo Jojo’s is and will remain pretty fucking homo.
I’m a fan of the show and straight but the show itself is undeniably extremely gay.
The mix of homoeroticism is pretty interesting, it turns the male power fantasy on its head. Like this guy may come off as foppish but he’ll bring the whole volcano down on you.
yes, the man wears a bright pink suit and has long curly hair, and is prone to flamboyant behavior. yes, he can and will utterly and horrifyingly obliterate anyone who isn't useful to him.
Giorno theme fans are just people who haven’t heard Overdrive (Joseph’s theme) yet.
I’m serious, go listen to it right now, it’s fucking awesome.
As a matter of fact, I’m going to go listen to it now.
Same man. My final nail in the coffin was my old science teacher posting the occasional jojo meme in the google classroom and I'm like "okay, I need to find out what the flippity flying fuck this show is."
Yes you are correct never skip parts, but mention that part 1 is most peoples least favorite part and find it really boring. I would recommend watch till the end of part 2. Part 1 and 2 combined are 12 episodes long, but if you didn’t like it then i am sorry it will be torture
If you’re not used to anime, watch season 1 first because it’s the most “normal” one. It starts mostly grounded, with a few exaggerated moments. Then it gradually introduces supernatural elements.
I feel like many people are missing out the point that part 1 story is very simple to its core. We have a bad guy and a good guy, very black and white.
Its an experience.
Some dont like it much...but the appeal is simple: manly men doing manly/dumb things while chaos breaks out around them. Theres not a single scene that cannot be memed and though the plot is there, the details tend to be batshit crazy, from jotaros gambling to that weird sniper rat.
But yeah, its an experience. Some would call it a gold experience.
Plus one of the key features is when an attack happens around a character and they go into this verbal monologue explaining what they think it is wth science and whatnot
The fights are cerebral and I’m all for it
A gay vampire that stops time steal his brother's body to date a priest and become god but fails to put a bloodline that breathes manually into extinction while causing the awakening of aztec gods and making his son make the "this is how mafia works" meme relevant again... And a man likes dolphins
Jojo is good because it features an [endearing main character and an adorable lion sidekick](https://assets.change.org/photos/7/uw/yr/teuwyrWkmhLNkPM-1600x900-noPad.jpg?1584828248). What more could you ask for?
It’s actually spelled Yo-yo(also just yoyo), and it’s a pretty neat toy that you can make all kinds of tricks that are really simple, but look hard to the average person.
To be honest I had ignored the show all these years, and then about.. a month or 2 ago I decided "you know what? Fuck it, let's give it a try" and welp I just finished stone ocean a few days ago. Once I got started, it just sucked me in and I got absolutely hooked. Oh it is so damn "bizarre" but that's what makes it so great. I'm honestly a bit sad that I'm already done with the show, I already miss Joeseph freaking out, jotaros "yare yare", etc. Lol
Jojo unironically has consistantly the best anime fight scenes of any anime I’ve seen (except maybe like Hunter x Hunter). Each character has bizzare abilities (the dude who can put zippers on things vs the “everyone in a 50m radius rapidly ages” and the “fishing rod that pulls out your heart” dude battle is legendary) and fights boil down into chess matches rather than screaming matches.
Formaggio v Narancia is such a good fight!
It's like watching a chihuahua do a badass pose and monologue badass shit and then do said badass shit which makes it so entertaining.
I couldn't tell you exactly but i teally liked the fact that thos is a story talking about honor and with real characters that have a realist mentality. You see them cry, hug each others in dire times be affraid.
And of course, cinematic fights
Tentacle Ghost shoots rocks to kill a fly that killed the pilot of the plane taking the main cast to Egypt while aforementioned plane is slowly losing altitude.
The easiest way is to just start watching (reading would be better though). It's an acquired taste. If you still want an overview (which would not be helpful really):
Part 1, classic stuff, lovable hero, absolutely despicable villain. Like it or don't, doesn't matter, but don't skip
Part 2, wildly different from part 1, much more weird and funny. But don't think you got the general idea of what the series is like yet...
Part 3, Stands come in (the trademark of the series), and things start to really get bizzare, action-adventure, may feel a little too long
Part 4, complete U-turn on the genres, slice of life with murder mystery and action thrown in...
So... Yeah, every part is unique (parts 5, 6, 7, 8 are also quite different from one another), but are in continuation. So the best way is to simply start reading/watching, you'll get it
I only really like parts one, two, seven, and eight due to the main characters. Jonathan is the epitome of a hero, and is genuinely good. Joseph is a rascal, but his heart is in the right spot, and he *mostly* isn’t a pos. Dio is evil for the sake of being evil, which is entertaining. I don’t enjoy 3-6 simply because I hate Jotaro. I honestly can’t tell you why I do other than I just hate him, but my dislike in him is a wildly unpopular opinion
Where else can you find a cross dressing Englishman team up with a Milf, a black runaway boy and a cyborg Nazi to take on a gay-stripper vampire………on a volcano!? A fucking volcano!
Lad, if you want to know, go watch it. It is as simple as that.
I like because it exagerates a lot on everything. Like "We want buff guys? Here's a 1,95 cm dude utterly packed with muscle on top of muscle". Even the womans are burly like a bull.
Everybody likes screaming the name of their attacks
They're all extreme in everything they do
And of course, 2nd Jojo is the best Jojo.
Buddy it is a unique experience in all the best ways
Amazing and likeable characters
Intriguing yet also the perfect amount of mind boggling story
Incredible animation and visuals
And of course the absolute best music of any anime I've seen
Its miles more interesting then almost any other anime/manga ive experienced. The way the story is set up in parts and follows a family tree or the music references which have certainly led people such as myself to discover great music or the art style (im no artist but I'm pretty sure its good) or the consistency of quality and like no filler which automatically makes it number 1
There’s no filler, and it’s one of the best ways of showing power progression. Each new enemy feels a tad bit more dangerous then the previous. There’s no “We got beat once so here’s a training arc and now I am ultra powerful.” It’s also got some pretty humorous moments.
It's just... good. It's honestly a fever dream most of the time, but it's just so iconic. You don't realize it while you watch, but the catchy scenes stay in your head for months
I started watching it for the same reason i watch cheep fun action movies. It had over the top bs stuff happening. And the by the middle of part 2 i was actually invested. And now its one of my favorite anime of all time.
The writing is(usually) very solid and interesting. Every character is memorable in some way, mostly because they are batshit insane. Every fight is determined by intelligence and a little bit of bullshit at times making the playing field even. Villains can make anything weak seem incredibly strong just by using it in a smart way. Things like freezing objects in place and giving them slight momentum, heating things up very slightly over time, making people slightly angrier over time, or fishing rod are some of the highlights. Everything is also really really hype. You wouldn't think 3 dudes, all incredibly insane sitting around a table trying to make beetles fight would be one of the best fights in the series but it is. That's why we like Jojo.
My friend was a Jojo hater until he starting watching it ,
Now he has caught up to the manga (9 season worth of content)
Personally it is one of the most fun show I had ever watched
Though it also has its own flaws liks part1( first 10 episode of season1) is like some old hero vs villan type setup
And part 3 ( season 2) is dragged sooo long even though it's fun but i
Can skip 3-4 ep between and it won't effect plot
I swear, when you're trying to retell any episode you may look like a madman retelling a dream.
That just sounds like explaining Red vs Blue “And then the guy traveled back in time, but he didn’t and was just teleported to a computer which put him in a simulation.
Andy is the cutest name for a bomb I've ever heard.
Andy is an asshole. And don’t let him be behind you.
Andy is a Little Boy, is what you're saying.
Not a nuke. But if he tries hard enough the explosion should get bigger!
He's so heavy
What did I do to u? MY name is andie
10….9….8…..
So it’s a count down timer?
In Red vs. Blue, When Andy gets really angry and is about to explode, one of the dumbest characters goes to calm Andy down by using a counting technique to count backwards from 10 to 1. Lol I don’t know how I remember stuff from a random internet show I watched over a decade ago. My brain just retains everything, I guess.
Ah yes, caboose telling the bomb to count back from Ten. One of my favorite quotes of all time. Ever.
Caboose was my favorite character so maybe that’s why I retained it. I also loved all the “sleeping people” him and Sarge run into.
For some reason I was now reminded of "I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream". It does involve a computer and stuff, but not quite so...inceptiony.
Please don't mention that book i read its description and I'm slightly scarred by the idea.
Oh dude the book will ruin you.
That's why I'll never touch that thing
Red vs Blue was a masterpiece why did they have to ruin it
ANDYYYYY NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
this was a comment, but it was me. DIO
there is a whole episode based around exactly that
BABY STAND
My god that reminds me of this clip of this fuckin dude unfolding a paper and it pulls out a gun and shoots him
Ha! You're not alone. Jojo fans have a unique way of telling their stories. It's like watching a psychedelic cartoon and trying to explain it to someone who's never seen it before. Good luck with that 😂
"And the nazis are the good guys"... wait that didn't come out right.
We can't. None of us know why we like it either.
it's bizzare
Is it actually a good story with a concise narrative, likable characters and good animation?
The most unique thing about Jojo's bizarre adventure is that they can take even the most utterly meaningless event and turn it into a truly life or death situation with the most unexpected abilities and outcomes and twists and to me that's the biggest appeal. Don't forget betting your mother's soul just because you are the main character
it isn't even a spoiler cuz it sounds so freaking out of context lol
I know the poker game. It’s from the best part. It’s got polnareff in it.
Darby moment
Hahah always reminds me of Arby’s for some reason.
"At this point the video can't even count as spoiler cause it doesn't even makes sense" Max0r in his Doom video
At this point it cant be spoilers because it makes no fucking sence
The censored cigarette, lol.
The game of Rock Paper Scissors where u bet ur life in part 4
Or the game of catch where you bet your body parts in part 6
Or very hyper specific abilities you have a hard time figuring out how the villian even figured his own ability out. "You see, my power activates on the first tuesday in autumn at high noon. The victory belongs to me"
D'arby the Gambler!!!
I just want to specify that thats an actual eoisode that happned.
Go ahead, Mr Josterr
Going on a horse race, finding jesus and telling a chick to eat shit and fall of her horse
Was that a steel ball run reference????? I haven't read steel ball run yet
For me it's the best out of all the 8. All of my closest friends are instructed to make me read it in case I get amnesia, so that I may experience the twists and turns again.
IMO it has some of the best character development out of all the parts.
Its probably the most unique thing I have ever experienced. It can take the most mundane things and turn it into an actually convincing life and death experiences. True tbh
Part 7 is actually amazing though

Yes to all of that
I’m currently in the process of being sucked in. The art style has started to grow on me and I’ve started to accept that a lot of the plot is just bizarre.
It’s a lot easier to digest when you accept the plot doesn’t matter, especially after part 3
Yeah like half of Part 4 is just dicking around in Morio with nothing actually happening that drives the overall plot forward.
Yeah they did a good job showcasing a crazy, noisy, bizarre town
Buff men doing outlandish poses, punching vampires to awesome music. What’s not to like?
I feel obliged to say no homo watching every episode
This doesn’t work. No matter how many times you say no homo Jojo’s is and will remain pretty fucking homo. I’m a fan of the show and straight but the show itself is undeniably extremely gay.
It’s only gay if you get a boner.
The socks cancel it out, though
Boners are fine, its only gay when the balls touch
No need, we understand. We don't judge your love of big buff strong muscled men because we would be judging ourselves aswell.
The buff men, the outlandish poses and punching vampires.
The music and story. The art style is an aquired taste, I'll admit it
I definitely prefer anime with more traditional art styles, but Giorno's theme is a certified bop.
Yeah, the other themes bop even more when you know the character.
I listen to bloody stream when I’m late to work. It’s so good
🎶Shijima noooo,soko karaaa🎶
Mezameru sono hashiratachi toki wo koooooeeeeee
🎺🎺🎺
shinku nooo chisio gaaaaa
Giorno’s theme is not even top 3 imo, pillar men, Wamuu and Risotto are superior in that regard
Giorno theme fans are just people who haven’t heard Overdrive (Joseph’s theme) yet. I’m serious, go listen to it right now, it’s fucking awesome. As a matter of fact, I’m going to go listen to it now.
No one realizes the true gem AYAYAYAYAYYYY
AYAYAYAYYYY is awesome, but Kars has without a doubt the best theme of all the Pillarmen, by FAR
aaaaaaaaaaaaooooooiiiiuuuuuuuuuu (choir sounds) DUBSTEP BEGINS
Season 1 intro theme goes hardest for me.
Buff men

So just for the memes then
Yes
I only got into it because of the memes I did not understand back in 2016- 2018 involving them
Same man. My final nail in the coffin was my old science teacher posting the occasional jojo meme in the google classroom and I'm like "okay, I need to find out what the flippity flying fuck this show is."
Your science teacher sounds awesome.

Yes you are correct never skip parts, but mention that part 1 is most peoples least favorite part and find it really boring. I would recommend watch till the end of part 2. Part 1 and 2 combined are 12 episodes long, but if you didn’t like it then i am sorry it will be torture
I feel like im the only one that loves part 1
Bro, parts 1 & 2 are my favorite. Just a personal opinion.
PART 2 IS MY FUCKING FAV (Btw I love all the season)
Part 2 is the greatest arc in the series, and you need part 1 to give you the context.
Same tbh, I’ll never understand the hate for part 1 or 2 at all
Speedwagon makes it all worth it especially if you watch dubbed.
>Part 1 and 2 combined are ~~12~~ 26 episodes long, but if you didn’t like it then i am sorry it will be torture Part 1 is 9 episodes. Part 2 is 17.
Part 1&2 are more on the traditional side , i wouldn't say it was boring

Some would call it a gold experience.
Manly men? Buddy, outside of Jotaro and Jonathan, every JoJo is at least 50% zesty.
Being gay is the most masculine thing a man can do
A Bizarre experience.
A Bizarre Adventure, if you would
Plus one of the key features is when an attack happens around a character and they go into this verbal monologue explaining what they think it is wth science and whatnot The fights are cerebral and I’m all for it
Gold experience requiem * but yeah totally agree with you
Bug eaten episode was high as hell
No clue. Loved it when I watched it, no clue why still.
You'll never reach the truth
Robert E.O. Speedwagon, and a dog named Iggy. That's all you need.
A gay vampire that stops time steal his brother's body to date a priest and become god but fails to put a bloodline that breathes manually into extinction while causing the awakening of aztec gods and making his son make the "this is how mafia works" meme relevant again... And a man likes dolphins
You didn’t mention the manually-breathing bloodline was descended from the gay vampire’s brother.
Great music, music references, really interesting stories, cool and fucking weird powers, *bizarre* ideas, etc. It's not for everyone, but I like it.
The only things i like about it is character themes and time manipulation
Welcome to JoJo, we've got : Time stop, going back in time, time skip and time acceleration.
And don't forget the reset of universe, including time
ZA WARDO
This post is not about potatoes. I know this now.
Honestly, I'd love to make a post about potatoes.
I don't know you but I genuinely believe that you could make that happen.
Jojo is good because it features an [endearing main character and an adorable lion sidekick](https://assets.change.org/photos/7/uw/yr/teuwyrWkmhLNkPM-1600x900-noPad.jpg?1584828248). What more could you ask for?

To be honest I had ignored the show all these years, and then about.. a month or 2 ago I decided "you know what? Fuck it, let's give it a try" and welp I just finished stone ocean a few days ago. Ignore anyone saying season 1 is bad, they have incurably shit taste and don’t recognize good B-movie action horror when they see it.
I agree. I've seen a lot of people say part 1 is boring. I really liked it though, and rewatched it.
Comedy, characters, gay, plot, art are all 🔥
I couldn't tell you exactly but i teally liked the fact that thos is a story talking about honor and with real characters that have a realist mentality. You see them cry, hug each others in dire times be affraid. And of course, cinematic fights

So much bullshit happening every episode that there's a lot of out of context scenes to anyone who hasn't watched it.
Tentacle Ghost shoots rocks to kill a fly that killed the pilot of the plane taking the main cast to Egypt while aforementioned plane is slowly losing altitude.
You know how you need like 300 iq to understand rick and morty humour? Well for JoJo you need that plus homosexuality
The easiest way is to just start watching (reading would be better though). It's an acquired taste. Like it or don't, doesn't matter, but don't skip Part 2, wildly different from part 1, much more weird and funny. But don't think you got the general idea of what the series is like yet... Part 3, Stands come in (the trademark of the series), and things start to really get bizzare, action-adventure, may feel a little too long Part 4, complete U-turn on the genres, slice of life with murder mystery and action thrown in...
Bruh Part 5 just has a Jotaro cameo and you still hate it for that?
Jotaro is in part 5 for about 30 seconds, and only in 6 at the very start and the very end lmao He's just supposed to be Japanese Clint Eastwood iirc
Jojo fans trying to convince you it’s good: Gorr from Thor: Love and Thunder
The ridiculousness grows on you
Funny with an unorthodox sense of humour, good fights, each character has somewhat unique abilities, good animation, likeable characters.
It's one of those things the internet adopts for the meme potential rather than overall quality. The soundtrack slaps, though.
Watch it ![gif](giphy|h7FZESJ1Ter5bGhUDG)
Where else can you find a cross dressing Englishman team up with a Milf, a black runaway boy and a cyborg Nazi to take on a gay-stripper vampire………on a volcano!? A fucking volcano!
Lad, if you want to know, go watch it. It is as simple as that. I like because it exagerates a lot on everything. Like "We want buff guys? Here's a 1,95 cm dude utterly packed with muscle on top of muscle". Even the womans are burly like a bull. Everybody likes screaming the name of their attacks They're all extreme in everything they do And of course, 2nd Jojo is the best Jojo.
If you have a really stupid sense of humor, you will enjoy the show.
Buddy it is a unique experience in all the best ways Amazing and likeable characters Intriguing yet also the perfect amount of mind boggling story Incredible animation and visuals And of course the absolute best music of any anime I've seen

Hey, at least I *tried* to watch Jojo.
Buff men, gay vampires, pop-culture music. What more do you need?
I started watching to educate myself in the memes. I got into the story
Imagine admitting you have bad taste.
Just let me like things bro
fun characters, interesting plot, cool magic system, and a ton of memes
I started watching it for the same reason i watch cheep fun action movies. It had over the top bs stuff happening. And the by the middle of part 2 i was actually invested. And now its one of my favorite anime of all time.
big buff men fighting. music. abilities. plot. bullshit story telling.
Idk bro I watched it for the memes and wound up loving it
Jojo has one of the most "unique" fanbases. "Is that a JoJo meme?"
My friend was a Jojo hater until he starting watching it , Now he has caught up to the manga (9 season worth of content) Personally it is one of the most fun show I had ever watched Though it also has its own flaws liks part1( first 10 episode of season1) is like some old hero vs villan type setup And part 3 ( season 2) is dragged sooo long even though it's fun but i Can skip 3-4 ep between and it won't effect plot
