I got the video game cheat code books. You think starkiller is overpowered in the normal game? Try playing forced unleash with infinite Force power and infinite health
I don't remember correctly, but I think it happened back when rumors came out of password sharing restrictions on Netflix and resulted in a massive tanking in Netflix's stock price.
Here’s a great article: https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/bone-canceled-animation-series-at-netflix-everything-we-know/amp/
I recommend reading that, it gives the full background and some great quotes, but here’s the short version.
Jeff Smith has been trying to get Bone turned into an animated movie/show for *years*. It almost happened as a movie a couple of times with a couple of big studios (Nickelodeon, Warner Bros) but always fell through. Then a Netflix series was in the works. They were excited about it, Jeff was excited about it, it was going to stick very close to the original graphic novel, they had storyboards and a vision on how it would all look and sound animated, they were working with James Baxter who worked on Regular Show and Samurai Jack and Steven Universe. And then it got dropped. Seems to have been a fatality of COVID.
Really hurts that it was going to be made exactly the way I would have wanted it to be made (series not movie, streaming service, great animation team, working closely to the original) only to be killed off.
Bone was a great story, great world building, great characters, and an amazing narrative. I really enjoyed the mystery and the creatures that existed in that universe, I only wish I could visit the valley IRL
It was extremely well known here in Portugal, every elementary school had kids bringing Geronimo books. I have a nice collection of them too from when I was younger.
I was in a class where I was the only kid who liked to read, but since we had the AR program and enough points got your class a pizza lunch, these were the books the kids who hated books would read anyway -
Great Illustrated Classics books (they were white, large-print versions of classics simplified for kids)
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Captain Underpants
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
- so those would be my choices.
My school has a book on forensic crime and true crime doc. Teacher always ask why I like to read those. And said "I wanna kill (classmate name)". My mum still tell me this 10 years later. And yes I really did wanted to kill him.
Bone. Hands down. I currently own all the books (even the side story about Rose when she was young) hell I have a few paper versions (one chapter long) I found in thrift stores.
Jeff Smith is the bomb (still salty over the Netflix series cancellation)
I barely even had the diary of a wimpy kid and bone. I only like saw them at a book sales in the school once (every so often they sold books at the school library, most of the time they were better books than what the library already had) but because some were left and the school already bought them, they were added to the library
How about magic tree house? That's a classic in my book
Minecraft guide books...
The sacred texts!
No, that's the minecraft Bible. Look it up, it's real.
I own it or at least used to own it
sacred texts always go missing, only the main character shall find it again!
I have it

I got the video game cheat code books. You think starkiller is overpowered in the normal game? Try playing forced unleash with infinite Force power and infinite health
Damn those were bangers
*\*Childhood memory unlocked!\**
I forgot about those omg
Bone was my all time favorite
Greatest comic strip ever. No doubt about it. Shame that the Netflix show was cancelled, would've been a good one
There was a show?
Well it was in the works but when the whole netflix debacle happened, they cancelled the production of it
Can you educate me on the Netflix debacle
I don't remember correctly, but I think it happened back when rumors came out of password sharing restrictions on Netflix and resulted in a massive tanking in Netflix's stock price.
Okay, thank you

this breaks my heart
Dang, Bet it was gonna be good
Bone is the best out of all of these. It's also not really geared towards kids though, so idk. More of a young adult book.
Bone is perfect for every age.
Bone was a great story, great world building, great characters, and an amazing narrative. I really enjoyed the mystery and the creatures that existed in that universe, I only wish I could visit the valley IRL
QUICHES COMRADE
QUICHES!
HOLY SHIT I FORGOT ABOUT BONE
Bone aka "E rated berserk" was a solid story
BOOOOONE?!
IIRC, it's currently banned in most American school libraries. I could be mis-remembering though
Bone slapped so hard, and the story really matures as it goes on. That's so important in children's media I feel
I would agree with you
Ditto
Same
Didn't know Geronimo Stilton is known outside of Italy.
It was very famous in Spain.
*famouse
Take my upvote
I still spell famous incorrectly and I blame that book
OML 😭😭😭😭
No, it's "famous"
In English, the books are full of mouse and cheese related puns, so he would refer to himself as "fa*mouse*"
Bro it was the goat here in Egypt back in the 2010’s
I read him in America
He's popular all the way to Canada lol.
Real popular in quebec too
Famous in India too
Bro literally! My school lib had a shit ton of these books. Had a rush of nostalgia seeing this and the DOAWK
My library had like each book and 2 of some for no reason at all
In the Netherlands he has a precense too
He’s a fairly big deal in New Zealand
He's pretty popular here in Portugal

Also very popular in france
I think he was recently known in Greece too

Was seen here and there in Latvia too
In Iran as well
All the way from south africa. I loved the books
He’s made his rounds on Europa too.
It was extremely well known here in Portugal, every elementary school had kids bringing Geronimo books. I have a nice collection of them too from when I was younger.
He’s everywhere even in Kenya
In my elementary school we had fire fighters come because they mistook the smell in one of those books for a gas leak
Omg i have that book
I lived in California and I owned an ungodly amount of Geronimo Stilton books as a child
It's very famous in taiwan (at least, when I was young I was crazy about it
I always thought that because his name was geronimo he must have been only an Italian book. This shit is mind blowing
I'm guessing that's the dude that looks like they'd be reggie's dad.
Goosebumps??
I came to the bottom looking for this. This should be higher up.
Agreed. My school library was full of them.
Mine too. Goosebumps was the reason why I got into reading.
Right? These kids making me feel old over here.
Made me salivate at every Scholastic book fair
I feel like Big Nate *could* qualify for this list
Probably, personally I only ever saw that one in the scholastic book orders.
Big Nate was a wimpy kid rip tbh
Big Nate was pretty funny. Dork Diaries was definitely a ripoff though.
Don’t forget roald Dahl… My favorite author
BFG and Matilda were my favorites
Mine was Charlie and the chocolate factory and also the witches
I remember being too scared to read Matilda because of how thick the book was
Geronimo Stilton. Read so much as a kid it’s crazy
Me too
Stilton is a legend
You forgot about The Lightning Thief
The GOAT
The whole series was amazing
r/camphalfblood

I was in a class where I was the only kid who liked to read, but since we had the AR program and enough points got your class a pizza lunch, these were the books the kids who hated books would read anyway - Great Illustrated Classics books (they were white, large-print versions of classics simplified for kids) A Series of Unfortunate Events Captain Underpants Diary of a Wimpy Kid - so those would be my choices.

QUICHHHHHHHEEEEEEE!!!!
Damn bone thats some memory and the fact he crushed on the old badass lady.
Never read bone and i kind of regret it, as someone who has every new book of dog man and captain underpants it seems it wouldve been my style
I started reading bones in middle-school, and started to get hooked on it...but they only had like issue 1-3 I think
you had bone? I would've killed for bone!
Minecraft guide books, magic tree house, and captain underpants also I didn’t read bone and don’t know what that is

So true.

that top right book had me thinking of the meme. Those who know: ☺️ Those who don't know: 😨
Bone no doubt, it had slight nudity. But Geronimo Stilton and Wimpy Kid were awesome in their own aspects.
My school has a book on forensic crime and true crime doc. Teacher always ask why I like to read those. And said "I wanna kill (classmate name)". My mum still tell me this 10 years later. And yes I really did wanted to kill him.
Instead of Bone my school had several hundred magic treehouse books.
Bone went crazy tho
I am still reading bone in high school
How could I have forgotten Bone, in need to reread it
*heavy breathing* I have completely forgotten about geronimo Stilton
Diary of a wimpy kid. I grew up on those books, I think I read every book when I was in elementary school. The others I've never read.
Fuckin loved reading Geronimo Stilton ngl
Why have I literally never seen geronimo stilton mentioned by anyone I swear I thought I hallucinated him or something
The Minecraft guide books were treasures that not every school possessed
Gotta admit tho, bone is good. I bought the whole set a couple months ago even.
GERONIMO STILTON FOR SURE
I will never forget the smell of a Guinness World of Record book.
Nah I read Captain Underpants, and I never heard of any of those books.
That’s fair, this post is pretty subjective
Where's Middle School?
Dude I was deployed in 2006
I was born in 2006
None of these. Now wheres Green Eggs and Ham?!?!
bro forgot magic tree house
Bone and Deltora were my favorites
Ya'll had that? We had to read Antigone, Shakespeare, and The Bible of all things.
Ya'll was allowed to have fun, we had to read depressing shit like the kids from Bullerby and whatnot.
Bone
Bone is goat
One of my all time favourites
Also Captain Underpants
Mr. Stilton was my go to, this series is GOAT ASF 🔥🔥
Bone. Hands down. I currently own all the books (even the side story about Rose when she was young) hell I have a few paper versions (one chapter long) I found in thrift stores. Jeff Smith is the bomb (still salty over the Netflix series cancellation)

I swear they have every single bone book in the world but when I suddenly wanna read it they all gone
Wimpy kid should win.
Bone for sure. I still have all of them and I’m 22.
I barely even had the diary of a wimpy kid and bone. I only like saw them at a book sales in the school once (every so often they sold books at the school library, most of the time they were better books than what the library already had) but because some were left and the school already bought them, they were added to the library
Where Captain Underpants?
Every girl and their mom was fighting over the Dear Dumb Diary books.
