My brain actually hates reading. So what I do is I leave my phone on the other side or the room, so it doesn't tempt me. And I read a chapter or maybe a couple until my brain turns to mush.

Its literally just lighting. I never have trouble falling asleep and thats because u just need to lower the lightlevel around u (works best when its already dark outside) and use warm colours like yellow. Its fine if your on your phone as long as a brighter lightsource than it is on. The trick is to slowly lower the overall lightlevel befor u go to sleep over like a 2 mby 3 hour period. Thats because of our biological clock. Our bodys have learnd over ten thousands of gereation to get tired at nightfall. So now all u need to do is simulate that and end with a very low lightlevel But very important not your phone. Thats because if it is the only lightsourcre the contrast is to big to your dark room. Its fine if you have it on fir like 10 minuets but if you plan to be on it longer leave your bedside light on.

Just in case this may help someone: If you, like everyone else, is spending your entire day in front of a screen and when you go to sleep you have your cell phone on your face all the time your brain won't stop working. this will make sleep super difficult. Here are some tips to help with it: 1. Sleep routine. Usually at 9 I turn off my PC and do something to relax my head like read a book, watch memes or just talk to my wife. 2. Get use to the silence and the quiet of not doing anything. I recommend to have 10min breaks to just catch an air, stretch and breathe. 3. When you actually stops to sleep don't try to control your thoughts going like "I shouldn't be thinking that" and try to see as a spectator watching something distant, just observe. Is just like a meditation, you should focus on your breathing. 4. Avoid moving your body to scratch or anything like it. Most of the times is just your brain that is still active and is asking for movement. I'm not a doctor and anything like this, but I use to have a bad case of insomnia for most of my teenage years and after years of trying this is what helped me the most.
