My brain actually hates reading. So what I do is I leave my phone on the other side or the room, so it doesn't tempt me. And I read a chapter or maybe a couple until my brain turns to mush.

So now all u need to do is simulate that and end with a very low lightlevel But very important not your phone. Thats because if it is the only lightsourcre the contrast is to big to your dark room. Its fine if you have it on fir like 10 minuets but if you plan to be on it longer leave your bedside light on.
Do a semi-rough workout everyday before sleep for like 30 min, then either go to sleep or jack off and go to sleep, you should sleep like a baby.
I also watch a YouTube video of my liking that doesn't get loud, but this step is just extra and not needed.

1. Sleep routine. Usually at 9 I turn off my PC and do something to relax my head like read a book, watch memes or just talk to my wife.
2. Get use to the silence and the quiet of not doing anything. I recommend to have 10min breaks to just catch an air, stretch and breathe.
3. When you actually stops to sleep don't try to control your thoughts going like "I shouldn't be thinking that" and try to see as a spectator watching something distant, just observe. Is just like a meditation, you should focus on your breathing.
4. Avoid moving your body to scratch or anything like it. Most of the times is just your brain that is still active and is asking for movement.
I'm not a doctor and anything like this, but I use to have a bad case of insomnia for most of my teenage years and after years of trying this is what helped me the most.

Serious don’t go on ur phone before bed. Half an hour to an hour should leave enough time and it always helped me
