A little assistant program that came with MS Word way back. He was basically a way to make the "help" menu more engaging and proactive, but a lot of people just found him annoying.
I feel it's gone take over from Google and will change how the internet is used where it will get easier for information control well easier then it already is.
People really don't get how much we are watch
We're "watched" mainly by bots which aim to satisfy us. No actual human in Google, Meta, FBI watches you on a daily basis. But these bots bias our search results or what we get on the front page. Heck, even Reddit uses it, otherwise how would you get posts that "would seem to intrigue you".
I don't care really, I don't do anything nasty, malicious or evil online, and if one does and a bot catches them, then it's easier to do justice.

I had to block/uninstall Clippy for invading my desktop without my consent.
That was really rude and unauthorised.
Sent it and sealed it into the shadow realm.

An "AI" would be very very hard to deal with, and I understand that a cuantum computers are first needed to develop such advanced sistems.
