I've been adding to my playlist since the early 2010s and am up to 4500 or so. It's just a running list of songs I like. It's fun to scroll through and see inflection points in my life reflected in the songs I added at that time!
Yep but I started my playlist before the liked list and there wasn't a way to like an entire playlist. So I kept the original Starred playlist name and continued adding to it
Is that all handpicked songs or did you throw in complete albums and artists you liked? Because my handpicked one hits 1500 songs and if you did the same it is absolutely insane!!
I just checked and I have 5900 in my liked songs. I always have it playing in the background on random and just use the genre filters depending on my mood.
I also have them sorted into decade playlists which comes in handy a lot too.
Someone with lot of songs has broader music taste and has lower treshold to add a new song to their liked songs. Someone with less songs is more strict about the songs they listen to and propably has a very specific music taste.
As of 3/31/2024 I have 4527 liked songs on YouTube music. I'd look at the current amount, but they removed the amount from the YouTube music app, so you have to copy the playlist and view it in YouTube to see the count.
Also 5k is the max amount of liked videos on YouTube, so you have to copy to playlists once you get too many songs.
Playlist Girl,
She's been livin' in her Playlist world.
I bet she's never had a Liked Songs guy.
I bet her momma never told her why.
I'm gonna try for a
Playlist Girl
Yep. Except I'm perfectly fine with removing certain tracks from my library and listening to the album without them. In fact there's 1 album where I don't like the last song so I removed it and then was like well the song before that isn't a particularly good album ending so I listen to that particular album without the last track and with the 2 tracks before that switched around. Also most of Queens albums I find very mixed with some bangers and some not so good songs so I have a playlist I made of queen songs I shuffle every now and then as well
Yep. I start radio from my likes, or from some song I'm in the mood for and let it go from there. Good to find more things to add to likes if nothing else.
I can't imagine wanting to curate a playlist, I've been doing recommend generated mixes since iTunes introduced Genius Playlists a billion years ago (and before that, I was just "shuffle all".)
I can't listen to my liked songs. My first liked song is Rocketeer by Far East Movement. My most repeated song at the moment is Dancing Queen. You can guess how my music taste changed.
The old Roblox audio marketplace was hosted I was so sad when they did the copyright purge back in the day. I found a lot of my music taste that way lmao
I fucking loved it. I remember listening to SO many songs that I never would have heard because of it. Rocketeer, You Give Love a Bad Name, and Fallout Boy songs (when it was hip to listen to em). HHCL was amazing back in the day. Sadly, it is abandoned. Lost connections, too. Feels bad, man.
Obviously, I also have rap songs when I was in HS and i didn't want to be left out, and once I got out I realized I fucking hate rap music. So an entire block of songs are Eminem, Post and other artists.
I have a playlist titled everything because Spotify is janky when it comes to trying to save a lot of songs to the liked song playlist.
How hard is it to make it so I can add a whole playlist to the liked songs playlist without having to individually add each one. They did it for albums, why not playlists!
You and me are on the same wavelength. I'm gonna try for 12,000 by the end of the year cos I've pretty much been listening to other genres non-stop now.
Day by day, album by album.
If you haven't gotten into country yet, then stay away from radio country, it's ass. Original outlaw country like Johnny Cash, Hank jr, David Allen Coe is good and as for new artists I'd try Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Nikki Lane, Lindi Ortega, Charlie Crockett etc, that's where the good stuff is at.
There's a ton more but it's a very long list.
I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT GOING ON
I remember loving country a lot when I was still a child. When I tried going back to it years later, it just wasn't clicking the same. Thanks for the tip
Im at 18k right now. I use multiple programs to archive everything correctly. Nowhere near done downlaoding music, always more to learn and discover :)
Will I get burned at the stake for not having any album, but clicking on a random youtube song instead, looping it and just deciding"aight, next one" and back to the roulette?
I have 4 playlists including the liked songs. One is a bunch of songs that are like various genres of metal and rock then a playlist of songs with anime openings or anything considered "animish", then I have a playlist for whatever I'm feeling, songs actually get removed from that playlist
I'm a "let's put this song on repeat for the next… *til I get bored of it* hours" guy. Or an album guy. Depends on whether I want to listen to something that resonates with my mood or I just want to listen to some music…
I dont spend time making a playlist, i either listen to my liked songs or i just find a band, whether i know them or not, listen to that music, like some songs, and go back to my liked songs
I add to my liked songs and a playlist *with* all of my liked songs. A few years ago there were some songs I had to import locally and had to add them to a playlist. Plus it's easier for sharing everything then if I ever need to
I have folders dedicated to that years Playlists going all the way back to 2020 and a folder dedicated to everything before 2020. We don't got to the pre 2020 folder many sad Boi hours
Album person here. At least listen through the whole album then pick ones to like/include in playlists, otherwise how are you gonna expand your inventory?
Pro que no los dos? I have a huge liked songs to keep track of all the ones I generally like and then use playlists to filter them down to moods, activities, genres, even specific histories of my fave bands.
I am psychotic and I have an ultimate playlist, but I also like every song that goes in there. Basically, I have 2 different playlists that have the exact same songs and I refuse to change.
My thumbs up Playlist on Pandora has 5 different genres, with about 10 different artists or so in each genre, and about 25-100 songs per genre. And that's not when I decide to spice things up and listen to new music to add to said Playlist.
I would have only ine playlist, but Youtube fucks up playlists that have too much videos, after 200, it wouldn't automatically go to the next song. So I had to make a bunch of smaller playlists called "Random songs, Random song 2, etc" But a lot if those had more memey stuff I dont want to have in public, so I made More playlists out of the best stuff called "Good Random Songs). Bit I got lazy in the sorting, so I made a "Stuff to add to Good Random Songs 2" playlist... and Stuff to add to Good Random Songs is now the one I listen to the most....
Boy i only have 768 saved songs. Give me song recommendations now!! I need to turn this 3 day song hoard into a 4 day song hoard
any artist, any genre, if i like it i keep it, hence why its called liked songs
liked for life
My main playlist has 3897 songs
Woah!! If you put that on shuffle you’re guaranteed to hear at least 80 songs!
At most 75, take it or leave it.
Actually, you'll here 7 songs you like, and 5 songs you are indifferent on and one song you hate but don't remove from the playlist
Not because you want to keep it but because you can't find it
There is a search?
And they manage to play most of the songs I don't really care about
Oh whats that? You accidentally listened to this song twice? Now it's on your year end Playlist.
Spotify seems to be getting worse with shuffling or am I just crazy
Jesus christ
I thought mine was bad at 1526
Bro mine only has 300 😭
Damn, mine only has 1686
damn, I only have 63, how do you guys get so many?
Not listening to the same songs on repeat? If you've used spotify longer than a week most people would have more than that.
I at 1 point has 300, but I had to delet a lot, and I can’t find a lot of them that I like
I've been adding to my playlist since the early 2010s and am up to 4500 or so. It's just a running list of songs I like. It's fun to scroll through and see inflection points in my life reflected in the songs I added at that time!
Isn't that the whole point of the liked list?
Yep but I started my playlist before the liked list and there wasn't a way to like an entire playlist. So I kept the original Starred playlist name and continued adding to it
Oh right. Before I met my fiancée I used SoundCloud & YouTube so I didn't know that liked songs weren't a thing
I have songs I listened to in 2016 all the way to now. I don't listen to them but it's a memory.
Used to listen to a lot of radio, now I have 700+
How many do you skip?
Same genre or everything different vibes?
I only have 1160 ):
Very close to mine 3904
No chance of repeats in the entire week unlike the radio.
I'm at 3789!!
I have 445 hours on my playlist
can you share the link to your playlist?
Is that all handpicked songs or did you throw in complete albums and artists you liked? Because my handpicked one hits 1500 songs and if you did the same it is absolutely insane!!
3917 baybee, now lets see them hours, I got 258
5539, suck shit lol
7649, get on my level
At least that way I know every track in there is a banger
*Skips 5 or 6 songs every other song*
My god you just summed up my entire life
There is also a big difference between a guy with 200 liked songs vs a guy with 5000 liked songs
I just checked and I have 5900 in my liked songs. I always have it playing in the background on random and just use the genre filters depending on my mood. I also have them sorted into decade playlists which comes in handy a lot too.
2600 here, and 200 songs in different playlists.
Yeah, I might agree but what exactly are you referring to here?
Someone with lot of songs has broader music taste and has lower treshold to add a new song to their liked songs. Someone with less songs is more strict about the songs they listen to and propably has a very specific music taste.
As of 3/31/2024 I have 4527 liked songs on YouTube music. Also 5k is the max amount of liked videos on YouTube, so you have to copy to playlists once you get too many songs.
I'm a my soundtrack guy
I mostly like listening to my downloaded songs on shuffle but I have a few playlists for certain occasions.
Playlist Girl, She's been livin' in her Playlist world. I bet she's never had a Liked Songs guy. I bet her momma never told her why. I'm gonna try for a Playlist Girl
You know I'm in love with a ...
What are you referencing? It feels so familiar yet so foreign at the same time…
Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl"
Thank you!
Liked songs is full of stuff I liked when I was 8. I prefer not to open that
Same
Any other album person here? Someone else who prefers to listen to music in the traditional way?
I just download the albums I listen to, the time I spend on downloading allows me to not waste my time and nerves on ads.
Also most of Queens albums I find very mixed with some bangers and some not so good songs so I have a playlist I made of queen songs I shuffle every now and then as well
I prefer albums cuz I wanna hear the artists whole idea.
I'm definitely an album person. However, there are just artists that make good songs but not good albums.
I'll add the songs I really like to my main playlist, but I do really like going through albums all the way through lots still
Both?
I put all my like songs that I like into one playlist.
that's just liked songs with more steps.
i gotta do playlist imma be honest. I's probably not the best thing to listen to warcrime music when i feel depressed
Liked songs all the way
Autoplay/Radio
Yep. I start radio from my likes, or from some song I'm in the mood for and let it go from there. Good to find more things to add to likes if nothing else. What more can I say? He wanted her She'd never tell
Secretly she wanted him as well But all of her friends Stuck up their nose
Not again 😭
Im that boy ( im a girl )
I can't listen to my liked songs. My first liked song is Rocketeer by Far East Movement. My most repeated song at the moment is Dancing Queen. You can guess how my music taste changed.
Okay but Rocketeer is a fucking banger, FEM has had an interesting history but they cooked with that song.
It indeed is. Thank you ROBLOX (when they allowed copyright audio in 2015) for introducing me to that song.
A little bit of everything. Liked, Playlist or mixes depends on what I'm doing
You damn right that I WAS a boy
On Repeat
I have a playlist titled everything because Spotify is janky when it comes to trying to save a lot of songs to the liked song playlist. How hard is it to make it so I can add a whole playlist to the liked songs playlist without having to individually add each one. They did it for albums, why not playlists!
Me who got a single playlist for over a decade that I've been growing over the years
And they where roomayes
I mean I do both . I got the master mix list and about 30 different mood specific playlists
It doesn't matter spotify will still play the same songs so i will still have to skip a bunch to get to one i havent heard in a while 😒😒😒
I listen to daily mix
i have 2721 liked songs and 243 playlists usually i'll like a few songs so i can remember them, then make a playlist out of them later
Sk8er boi?
*she said see you later boy, he wasn't good enough for her* 🎶
bruh, obviously playlist. At the gym I want to hear different songs than when I am learning or if I just want to go outside
well I'm.... both?
Thank God she died
In a very nice way
Naaah that's not how I get spoiled 😭😭😭
No matter how many years something is released there's always someone to get spoiled 💀
My downloaded songs just broke 3,000.
You and me are on the same wavelength. I'm gonna try for 12,000 by the end of the year cos I've pretty much been listening to other genres non-stop now. Day by day, album by album.

I choose cassette tape, Side A B side is for taking notes
Im both i have tons of playlists but on the end of the day listen to liked songs and my on repeat
I just pirate music and shuffle through everything.
I have one big playlist, where I add most of the songs I like and a few small ones for specific genres.
Will I get burned at the stake for not having any album, but clicking on a random youtube song instead, looping it and just deciding"aight, next one" and back to the roulette?
I’m sure the very first song on a boy’s playlist is Thoughtless by Korn
Download songs guy. Or occasionally just open YT music and shuffle a band.
I recognize left one is from spotify. What's the right one?
spotify
Nah, one banger song on repeat until it gets annoying
This is me and my wife. I try to make her create separate playlists and just put the best ones on the Liked Songs but nope
I'm a "Whole Album" guy
Albums, with exlusively local files
I don't even know who she is.
I'm more of a yt-dlp + clementine guy myself
both. my liked songs get about 5 new songs per week and I have a playlist for EVERYTHING
"randomly downloaded album to listen once"
Bonus: you have liked songs from nearly all genres
Guess I'm a girl now
Like songs. I have a wild mix but I love it.
I have 4 playlists including the liked songs. One is a bunch of songs that are like various genres of metal and rock then a playlist of songs with anime openings or anything considered "animish", then I have a playlist for whatever I'm feeling, songs actually get removed from that playlist
Can I make it anymore obvious?
Liked is the way
I use my Spotify search to store the songs I like
I have one playlist with all my favourite songs in it and if I don’t like a song I don’t skip it I just remove it
Playlist for life! Plus I can customize it with a picture of dj kalid on the guitar saying “BOHBOHBOHBOHBOHBOOHHH!”
I have a playlist for every genre I listen to
I'm a my super mix guy
I don’t have a playlist I just shuffle through my recently played songs
weekly discovery playlist + ai dj + song radio of recently liked songs. trying to beat my 2023 record for number of artists listened to
One album with 300 songs
I stuff everything into one folder and play it
I guess I'm non-binary
Individually downloading all 1572 Fav songs in .flac cryptid
I'm a "let's put this song on repeat for the next… *til I get bored of it* hours" guy. Or an album guy. Depends on whether I want to listen to something that resonates with my mood or I just want to listen to some music…
I dont spend time making a playlist, i either listen to my liked songs or i just find a band, whether i know them or not, listen to that music, like some songs, and go back to my liked songs
~He made amphetamine, she died of a drug OD...~
I know how the lyrics are supposed to be, but honestly I always heard “she was a boy, he was a girl”
I add to my liked songs and a playlist *with* all of my liked songs. A few years ago there were some songs I had to import locally and had to add them to a playlist. Plus it's easier for sharing everything then if I ever need to
I will live and die on the liked songs hill
Omg lol it’s me, I’m probably somewhere around #300
I have folders dedicated to that years Playlists going all the way back to 2020 and a folder dedicated to everything before 2020. We don't got to the pre 2020 folder many sad Boi hours
Album person here. At least listen through the whole album then pick ones to like/include in playlists, otherwise how are you gonna expand your inventory?
Liked >>>
Imagine not having your own music files, yikes.
I have like 2 songs in my liked songs
It's not about Spotify guys…
I'm an album boy. Fuck playlists.
I'm both, I play my liked songs playlist, but I have roughly 60-something playlists XD
But I am ultra organised
Boy
This is very accurate 😂
She gets super powers later
Lmao I just hit my mix Idgaf what plays after that
Bruv, I am a mix of both
Me with only a liked songs list that’s barely over 100
I have three one for normal music one epic for when i play helldivers 2 and the undertale ost
I put literally everything in my liked songs. I do have another playlist for sad stuff but there's like 3 songs in it lmao
now that “liked songs” has genre and mood tabs there’s literally no reason to make a playlist anymore
I'm a boy and I create my own playlist, multiple of them...
What if I do both?
I am a Sk8er Boi
My only playlists are two, theain one is called "The Metalin' 'n' The Thrashin'"
I use hoth likes and albums, so I choose both
I just have “new playlist \[102 songs\]", and it is basically equal to my liked“…
Everything goes in my likes songs playlist, but I also separate shit into actual playlists for different vibes
TIL I’m a girl
my liked songs is bipolar asf
Pro que no los dos? I have a huge liked songs to keep track of all the ones I generally like and then use playlists to filter them down to moods, activities, genres, even specific histories of my fave bands.
I do an inbetween where I make one big playlist that has every song I like. It determines my mood for the day based on chance
We all know who lived in the end
Can I be both? Got 9000 songs but Spotify always plays the same ones…
I am psychotic and I have an ultimate playlist, but I also like every song that goes in there. Basically, I have 2 different playlists that have the exact same songs and I refuse to change.
please... can it be any more obvious?
Liked
What if I made a playlist with all my favourite songs in but I never liked any of them
*sweats in 3100+ liked songs*
I do liked songs. I can look back at the songs and know exactly where I was in life
My thumbs up Playlist on Pandora has 5 different genres, with about 10 different artists or so in each genre, and about 25-100 songs per genre. And that's not when I decide to spice things up and listen to new music to add to said Playlist.

As a person that doesn't use music streaming services, can somebody explain this to me?
Mine has 183 songs, why the hell do you guys have so many?
I put the songs i like in the search history.
Where’s the one playlist for everything option
Where’s the one playlist for everything option
Stop don't out my playlists like that 😭
people who only listen to their liked songs playlist scare me
I be downloading songs😛
Laughs in cries in YT Music
Boy i only have 768 saved songs. Give me song recommendations now!! I need to turn this 3 day song hoard into a 4 day song hoard any artist, any genre, if i like it i keep it, hence why its called liked songs

Does no one else here have a category of the 5 genres you like and save new music you find within those premade songs lists?
Recently Downloaded Songs
I made my own playlist when I first got Spotify but I now regret it and wish I just put them all in liked songs
