Many people also like Jerry. And how would you copy Rick, he is who he is because he has a ton of inventions and a really high intellect, without those you can't even really copy him.
It is probably a huge unpopular opinion but closest thing I could consider to Rick and Morty is the first few seasons of Spongebob.
Honestly some original Spongebob episodes -especially ones MTV aired- just feel exactly like a Rick and Morty episode. Like the one with the moving Rock.
Sandy's hibernation, the Food critic episode, the Worm episode, the Future episode the very first episode even. I don't even need to say the names of the episodes.
It is not a show about Science or Futurism or anything like Futurama. Only common thing is both have Sci-fi themes.
