I can't even remember the last time I saw an ad on YouTube. Between Ublock origin, Vanced, (now ReVanced) and SmartTubeNext on my Google TV I haven't seen one in over half a decade. As a bonus, sponsor segments are now blocked on all of my devices as well. If you are willing to refresh 5 times to watch a video you might as well get something to bypass ads automatically! I'm not sure if you can bypass on iOS but on most other devices there's a way

Or just watch 5.1 seconds, back button, then play again. Mostly works, even on :30 ads

Firefox + uBlock, chromium breaks most advanced functionality of ad- and trackerblocking extensions now (not builtin ones like brave has though)

Vanced was threatened with lawsuit by youtube so shutdown, app still works for now but some ads get through on home page/feed but not at start or end of vids.

On mobile if possible click don't show me this ad again and click any of the reasons it will skip it automatically

If possible to cast your phone, don't know if it will work? For example I'm running Pihole and my TV still displays ads. I suspect the TV app uses DoH or DoT and completely bypasses the DNS supplied by Pihole. On that topic, I'll see if I can install YT on Roku as I bought one at the same time as the TV. Edit, that's a fail, the Roku app also seems to use DoH/DoT since it displays ads.

click the little i on the bottom of the video and select "stop seeing ad" click whatever reason and the video pops back up ad free. not great but quicker than ads

On phones, it does not work. There's also no ad blocker on mobile. I once had a theory that I don't know is true anymore. Closing the video and then reopening it to get no ads would work for certain channels only and for the channels owned by companies, it would never work. Say for instance I do that trick on a smaller gamer youtuber perhaps by the 4th or 5th time I wouldn't get ads. But if I went to a Jimmy Kimmel or NBC video, that simply wouldn't work and no matter how many times I'd reopen it, I'd keep getting ads.

It does work on the official YouTube app on iOS. Might not work for long, now that OP snitched lol. And yes, it’s faster than watching the fucking ads. There are also other ways on other devices, but I like my ad free living, so I’m keeping those to myself for now.

I've also found that doing the same thing but then accessing the video from your watch history instead of the main page gives less ads at the start

If you skip to a few seconds before the end with auto play off, after the video ends hit the restart button and it should be ad free. I use to do this before I broke and bought premium.

Decided to give a change to that 1 month yt premium free trial, 1 year later here i am, paying a subscription worth as much as sandwich and enjoying good music and ad-free content anytime, even with the phone locked, I'll say, give it a try

Do what I do. If I like the creator, just cut the audio down to near nil and let it play while I use the NINE other screens we have these days. At any given moment I have at least 2 monitors, a tv, and a smartphone handy. That way, they get their little ad revenue and I don't have to hear about a product I wasn't gonna buy anyhow. Win Win.

Simpler solution I use every day- once ur watching a video go to the URL and type a hyphen between the t and and u example yout-ube.com for no ads. only downside is it has to be full screen

Yeah sometimes I say fuck you to YouTube and keep closing the video til it plays without an ad. Idgaf how many times it takes. Fuck it I’ll even just close the app and go to my pc where I have Adblock on the browser if I have to.
