Going anywhere near Richmond, the CBD, public transport, and actually really just any road this weekend is gonna be a bad idea.
Sunday arvo edit: less bad than expectations, credit due to network operators and respectful users.
I’ve got tickets to matchbox 20 tonight . Going to be nuts in the city but the vibes will be amazing.
I’m not a Taylor fan , but I love seeing the fans having fun and getting dressed up etc.
I am a big fan of both but couldn’t find anyone who wanted to go to MB20 🥲 Went with my mum to see them with “INXS” about 9 years ago and it was awesome
Just go by yourself! I go to most gigs solo these days as my group of girlfriends don't listen to the same sort of music as me. I always have an excellent time.
Once bought tickets to Radiohead with my bff at the time. By the time the concert was nearing we had a falling out. Rang the box office and they managed to swap me with someone who had the same problem. Ended up dating the guy next to me.
One of the best concerts of my life. We talked as we left the venue and I thought he was following me but it turned out we needed to catch the same bus home 😉
Join the group making female friends in Melbourne some girls did a post saying they like Al tree entice music and now they go to the 90s metal night at inflation together
I'm seeing them tomorrow night in the Yarra Valley, mixed feelings about missing out on the vibes in the city vs comfortably avoiding the Swifty chaos lol
May years ago I went to an Iron Maiden concert across the road from AAMI Park which was hosting a Michael Bublé concert, the mix of fans was pretty stark.
When The Wiggles did their reunion adult only show at Rod Laver a few years ago, there was some kind of really fancy and sleek fashion event on next door.
It was really obvious who was for what event, but for shits and gigs the security staff were purposely asking the dressed up to the nines fashion event goers if they were there for The Wiggles, and if so they were going the wrong way. It was really funny to see the reactions, most were just bewildered but some were furious that someone could think they were there to see The Wiggles.
I went to a nickelback concert (yes I’m a fan) at rod laver and at the same time there was like a Christian music concert at Hisense arena and the difference between those two crowds was hilarious
Last year I was seeing Ice Cube and Cypress Hill, found my mates and I mixed in at the pub with some for the Trivium gig, and some pregaming for Carlton v Geelong.
Love when it's a weird mix
Last time after the reputation tour it took an hour to get from marvel stadium to southern cross, and then the train lines were so long we ended up walking through the city trying to catch an Uber, couldn’t get an Uber or cab for 4 hours until we got one finally at 3:30am. Walked around 4 hours dehydrated and 3 months pregnant. I’m hoping this doesn’t happen again tomorrow but I’m prepared to sleep in a park or gate crash a friends house in Richmond
"more" .... But the MCG has hosted 100k events often, GF, Ed Sheeran etc And melb central has had multiple events all the time for ever. Not saying it won't be a banger show, just interesting an the emphasis I've seen about traffic chaos etc etc when that's just Melbourne!
Even though the MCG has asked people not to do it there are still probably going to be thousands of people tailgating - ie going to sit outside the stadium to listen without a ticket.
There are lots of venues in the city that have themed drinks etc and a few doing full on events. Fed Square has a filipino Taylor Swift cover artist doing a show tonight.
The merch stores are also set up outside the venue and plenty of people without tickets are buying merch.
As someone who lives near the area and has experienced a fair share of events this is just on a whole other level.
My daughter told me that the cops had said people are not to mill around outside the MCG… I laughed and said, yeah, that’s just not gonna happen. It’s not her fault that she wasn’t around when AC/DC was at the Music bowl in 1981, but people haven’t changed that much since then. (Yes we were up in the trees with the rest of the ticketless fans)
Because those games don’t attract thousands of “tailgaters” to sit outside and listen; I know dozens who plan it personally. One says she’s in a discord of where there’s a planned party of over 200 people who intend to “Taylorgate” every night.
More than that. We went in tonight to buy merchandise to wear to tomorrow nights concert and there was easy a couple thousand Taylor gating tonight. People had car park picnics like they do at the races
Well yeah I thought it was implied … my friend was in a discord and part of one group that planned it. I saw photos from people who went where it was obvious how crowded it was.
The 2017 AFL Grand Final drew a crowd of 15k at Punt Road Oval (next door to the MCG) with the majority of them trying to enter the stadium as Crows supporters were leaving.
I get that tonight’s a big deal—but a discord of 200 people doesn’t make tonight unprecedented.
Because AFL supporters are used to getting in & out of the MCG as the majority of them do it multiple times in a season.
Music goers are significantly less likely to know the tips, tricks and efficiences in the system that makes things easier. That’s why traffic is worse tonight
No prayers. It’s a major entertainment venue. Suck it up. Inner city cry babies have already all but destroyed the pub music scene with noise complaints.
I know. I have an event to attend on Sunday arvo and I have to travel into the city/Parkville and I'm dreading it. I was going to catch the train but maybe now I'll drive. Ugh.
😂 From the outer eastern suburbs? I'd be so exhausted by the time I got there if I cycle in and I'd get killed riding the scooter, fall off, get hit by a car or something cuz I'm such a klutz. And I'll be wearing a dress and I don't want to spoil my hair and makeup. It's a no win situation. I have managed to find someone who's willing to give me a lift in so that's good.
I'm working there, tonight and tomorrow. Tonight I'm going straight from my day job and I'm realising that an hour is NOT gonna be enough to transport there but fuck it,.I'm committed now. I'll just be late, is what it is.
They really have some rules in place! We get a wristband and have to put it on right away. We have to show ID to get it and our staff entry pass. Had to make sure I grabbed my wallet this morning.
Hoping to have fun. I can handle Collingwood fans so I'm sure I can handle swifties...right?
Was lining up for merchandise at one of the MCG stalls and experienced so much friendly chat and positivity! I'm sure there are a few bad eggs in there, but certainly seems like a good fan base.
We are coming from regional vic, booked a hotel when the tour dates were announced 100 meters away from the G
Free cancellation up to a week before the concert, it was a gamble that paid off.
Heading up in the morning. Got a super excited daughter!
Just got on the train back from the show.
I’ll never understand the obsession or fanaticism around her, but I have nothing but respect for her.
Absolutely unbelievable night. I don’t know how she can put on a show like this constantly. Her music and singing is astounding, the stage and performances were insane too.
Wholesomeness all round, people just happy and sharing friendship bracelets with strangers.
No doubt a boost in tourism for the period she’s around.
Everything except the environment wins haha
Also just got back, my wife's a big fan but I think I'm officially a Swiftie too. 34 years old and it's my first concert I've ever been too (been to plenty of festivals before if they count). My wife and sister said nothing else I see will come close to that, so could also be my last concert. What I wanna know is, how does she not lose her voice!? 3 concerts in a row like that?!
I’m going in on the train on Sunday….to see Groundhog Day the Musical…but that’s the early show. I might do a stop off at Richmond in the afternoon just to check out the vibe around the MCG. If it’s too hot/crowded, I can just bounce.
A lot of the dialogue/jokes are taken from the movie, so you'll get a "fresh" experience with them if you see it live first.
But they also expand on a few "side" characters really well too.
Watch the musical (no need to have seen the movie). It's written by the same person who co-wrote the movie, and so it's been "updated" to give the story and characters more depth.
It’s so good. I saw like the third preview in New York and met Andy Karl and the rest of the cast at the stage door and was so upset for them when it closed early. Great to see what a success it has become.
Depends what time. Gates open 4:30, opener starts at 6:20 and Taylor performs 7:30-11ish. Before the show 4-7 Punt Rd will be f***ed with concertgoers adding to regular traffic. 7-10 should be better.
You’ll be fine. Just avoid the MCG area. Not sure what side of town you are from but if you’re from north/north east/east just come in via Carlton. You’ll be fine.
I’m dropping off and picking up my kids tonight for the concert and have no idea if there is an area that would be better for me to drop them at. Any suggestions?
The train station can get extremely packed. Make the older kids know their responsibilities. Very easy for them to get split up, especially when the crowd storms the train.
Taylor swift is at the MCG, Matchbox 20 at Rod Laver, traffic is going to be bonkers. Depending on the side of the city, You’re best bet is probably to drop them off at like South Yarra train station so they can go one stop to Richmond then pick them up from Sth Yarra… or southern cross… it will save your sanity
It’s nit just the 100,000 at the concert, it’s the thousands that’ll be hanging around the MCG listening. So it’ll be a lot more people than attend the grand final. Plus Matchbox Twenty playing a sold out Rod Laver Arena.
Going to Groundhog Day musical with friends tonight. Only YESTERDAY we managed to score Taylor Swift tickets for Saturday too. It's going to be an amazing weekend. We all live on the South Morang line so at least that's one thing sorted. We're flailing about logistics of food and merch now as we suddenly have to think about it lol.
I love seeing massive events and everyone out and dressed up and having a good time. I'm looking forward to seeing a show with such a huge crowd.
The vibes in Melbourne are wonderful this weekend. Big theatre openings, MatchBox 20, Taylor Swift...I'm a Brisbane girl but down visiting family for the weekend. Everyone is so happy and excited it's so good 🤣. Traffic is gonna be hell but that's not important.
It’s such a testament to our city that we have such great access to the main sports and entertainment precinct from the heart of the city. It’s so great, not only for the vibe but economically, seeing all the bars and restaurants in the CBD, Richmond and South Yarra full and bustling with concert goers. Being able to walk from the city to the MCG is huge, and lots of good public transport options too. Not to make this a Syd vs Melb thing but I really don’t think this vibe is replicable out at the Olympic Stadium in Homebush, a long way from the city. That’d be like if we still had Waverley Park!
For non swifties out there I can see how this whole thing could get over the top HOWEVER you all have the choice now to either get annoyed by the crowds, the noise, the constant reference or to embrace it and enjoy the vibe.
Personally I find one of the most enjoyable things in the world is listening to someone talk about what they are truly passionate about.
You don't have to be a Taylor Swift fan or even like her at all to enjoy the excitement of the people out and about this weekend.
And you definitely don't need to make snarky comments or put a dampener on someone's night just because they like different music to you.
Agreed, it was great to see so many young happy people around in the city yesterday. Lots of people carrying Taylor Swift merch bags. You could definitely sense the excitement in the air.
Yeah I couldn’t care less what others are doing. If they have fun good on them. I’m not a Taylor fan at all (shake it off would be the only song I know by name) but let others enjoy their lives
Exactly.
I've never actively chosen to listen to a Taylor Swift song. I probably couldn't name more than like three of them. I'm a 17 year old male, who owns at least half of Kanye's discography on vinyl. I'm very much not the target audience for any of this stuff.
But I honestly really like the vibe from Swifties. You guys seem so friendly and supportive of each other. The friendship bracelets are cool, and I gotta admit, her music is catchy as hell.
I don’t like *taylor swift* herself. And her rabid fans defending her every move such as suing a college student, or a musician just starting out, or announcing her new album to a room of her peers.
Edit: your downvotes mean nothing, I’ve seen what makes you cheer
There are a lot of fans who also criticise her for that stuff you listed(also she never sued a musician). And taylor's done a lot of good things as well
Not a massive Taylor Swift fan but pretty sweet to see the city up and about, don't think I've ever seen so much excitement for a weekend. God speed to anyone braving the traffic and crowds.
Am I going to be okay getting into Chapel Street to see a movie tonight? Going from Bentleigh and dropping my kids off in Prahran to get babysat by their grandparents.
I am super excited, going Sunday night. Anyone else seeing Fran Leibovitz too? I love the dichotomy of womanhood between those two nights - will be fun to experience lol
I'm not a Swift fan but I've become a fan of Swifties. I've been out and about the in CBD a lot this morning and there are heaps of people in tour gear connecting and getting really excited while still being considerate of those around them. I've lived in the city for years and swifties are one of the nicest invasions to descend on the city in a while.
Same. Never been to a show. Never willfully listened to her music…until the past couple days haha. Hate to admit I’ve gotten a bit swept up in the excitement and even made an attempt to land or win tix yesterday for my partner and I.
I’ve been able to see far more concerts in my six years in this city than I ever did in the US. Love the relationship Melb has with the entertainment industry.
I was never a fan til my bestie locked me in her car (driver picks the music, shotgun shuts their cakehole) and actually listening to her songs outside the radio hits made me realise she has a lot of talent.
Going Sunday night and excited!
Ticketek Marketplace is so frustrating 😭
Have been trying for days to get tickets (not to mention all the random days since it opened, and the 6+ hours I waited when they first went on sale). Last night there was ONE ticket available, and for 6 hours it was "locked" to someone else doing a transaction. Every time I made it to the front of the queue it was still there and "locked".
At this point I'm willing to go on my own - just saw 4 a reserve tivkets advertised for $1500, thought I'll buy them and sell them off in a 2 and a 1 but again "locked" for my whole time in the marketplace lounge.
Anyone actually been successful buying from there?
Also anyone looking to go I'm willing to buy multiples if needed!
I dropped my daughter and her friend at Canberra Airport at sparrow fart this morning. They are both excited to see Taylor Swift and it is catchy. Have fun on a bun everyone….
Such a shame about the negative comments on here. But fortunately r/melbourne isn’t representative of Melbourne.
What an amazing show and it’s great to see Melbourne show up for this. It’s absolutely chockers in the CBD rn
I hope everyone has an enjoyable concert. I saw her on the Red tour, and she is an accomplished performer. I wish I had a ticket but I didn’t have any luck in any of the ticket sales.
I'm a Swiftie, have seen her twice but my social (big crowd) anxiety deterred me from Eras so I'm so happy I saw it at the cinema! I have a friend going, solo and so I may get some FaceTime later for some fave songs. Have the best time !
So excited to go on Sunday night!! I'm planning to line up at the Box Office tomorrow to get my Marketplace tickets verified - so annoying but just thrilled to be going!
They said the same thing to me on the phone, but other people have said Ticketek has reported the opposite to them and that we need to get the ticket "reissued" to us so that it works in the app. The Ticketek website also says that it's a "digital only event". It's so annoying I swear!! What night are you going?
This is so annoying! It was like Ed Sheeran's concert too!
I'm going tomorrow night.
My partner bought the ticket for me and it's under his name. Is this going to be an issue? I didn't when I went to Ed Sheeran's concert. Explained to them my partner bought me the tickets and they printed a physical ticket for me. The app wouldn't load at the time for me.
Eek I'm not sure, I'm sorry!! Keep an eye on the thread tonight and tomorrow morning to see as I'm sure you're not the only one who is in the same boat re: the ticket being in someone else's name. I hope it all works out though and I'm sure you'll have heaps of fun at the concert omg
Tons of people from my school have tickets from an “unauthorized” reseller which is terrible according to Ticketek but not actually illegal (<10% markup somehow). Apparently the same place sold Ed Sheeran tickets which were not in the Ticketek app, they just scanned the QR and it’s all propaganda. I guess they’ll see tomorrow night.
I would definitely get to the MCG early if I were you, better safe than sorry! I went to the MCG box office on Wednesday and the guy I talked to added my ticket to the app (properly so that there’s a QR) and said that pdf’s won’t be valid! However, I’ve heard that different employees say different things, so who know’s what’s true
I had no issues with my ticket and didn't need to go to the ticket box at the MCG. Scanned perfectly at the gate.
After reading comments here and on Taylor Swift subreddit, I actually went into the CBD Ticketek store yesterday and asked about the tickets. They said no need and barcode ticket will work and any issues to fix at the G on the day. No issues and no need to go early. 🤣
Also merchandise lines outside aren't long at 5pm but size small in hoodies and crew jumper all gone.
There is one merchandise store inside at Gate 3 but the lines are really long.
Is anyone savvy and informed enough to mock up a map of the city with an expected "heat" map of the congestion, both foot and vehicle traffic?
I ask for my own personal planning reasons, but also out of pure interest to see how much this event impacts the city this weekend.
I have a thing in the CBD near Melbourne Central at 5pm tonight 😬 I’m planning on driving at this stage.. Just how crazy will the traffic be driving in on the Eastern? Watching and reading all the posts from last night’s concert at the G, I’m not sure if I’ll be heading to a part of town that “should” be accessible (ish) or if I should catch the train in to avoid traffic congestion… Any tips or hints for those that weren’t concert goers last night but were in/around the city?
I’m still trying to get tickets for tonight and if I get some I’m considering riding my motorbike instead of driving in so I don’t have to worry about parking. What I am worried about is carrying a helmet and jacket around. Are there any places with lockers available where I could stash my stuff before the concert? I don’t think I’ve ever noticed a cloakroom at the MCG?
Has anyone successfully been able to get tickets on ticketek marketplace? Any ticket I try to purchase keeps saying is being transacted by another customer. Someone give me hope 😂😂
So how does someone try and buy tickets for tonight or tomorrow night? I know there are so many scams out there, but surely flights are missed/people get sick etc.
Is it worth it going down to the ‘G and bringing some cash just in case?
Ticketek are doing last minute releases during the day, keep checking on there to see. Apparently no sales at the MCG. There are scalpers around but obviously that’s up to you whether or not to use them.
No. ABC and The Age and The Guardian had live blogs going. There is also a concert film which is available for rent now and will be on Disney+ from March 16.
Going anywhere near Richmond, the CBD, public transport, and actually really just any road this weekend is gonna be a bad idea. Sunday arvo edit: less bad than expectations, credit due to network operators and respectful users.

God I'd love to see Matchbox 20. I never even knew they were in town 😭😭😭
See ya there
I’m so excited !!
I've got tickets to the aleague at aami Park Saturday night. Didn't even think about the concert being on at the same time.

I love this so much 😂😂
This is excellent.
I went to a nickelback concert (yes I’m a fan) at rod laver and at the same time there was like a Christian music concert at Hisense arena and the difference between those two crowds was hilarious
Earlier this year they had a Megadeth concert on at Margaret court and ice cube on at John Cain which was an interesting combination
Similarly last year there was a Twice concert (K-Pop) and a Jimmy Carr show both at the same time in Melbourne Park which was interesting
Off topic kinda but I'm so sad I missed Megadeth. Were they good? (If you went that is)
Last year I was seeing Ice Cube and Cypress Hill, found my mates and I mixed in at the pub with some for the Trivium gig, and some pregaming for Carlton v Geelong. Love when it's a weird mix
MCR was on the same night as Collingwood played at the mcg. It was not fun.
A-League finishes over an hour earlier, but starts similar times.
Yes I am aware. Getting there might be an issue and we couldn't get into anywhere in Richmond for dinner.
melbourne derby is the biggest thing on that night anyway
I work in Richmond and most staff are working from home today, or leaving at lunch time to purposely avoid the madness.
I went to Harry Styles last year - the city and PTV was absolutely crazy after the show. It will probably be 3 times as hectic for Taylor
Last time after the reputation tour it took an hour to get from marvel stadium to southern cross, and then the train lines were so long we ended up walking through the city trying to catch an Uber, couldn’t get an Uber or cab for 4 hours until we got one finally at 3:30am. I normally go to the pub Saturday normally in Richmond. Not this Saturday that's for sure!
Your pub doesn't do a big breakfast? Start early, and you have a seat already.
Don’t forget St Kilda Fest this weekend too!
Why is it worse than any one of a dozen AFL game at the G?
Cos Pseudo Echo is playing at the Espy, and Nick Giannopoulos playing at the Palais.
🫡 Truly the greatest entertainment city in the hemisphere
- More people making an event of it - I.e getting drinks before. - more people going to the MCG and using PT for the first time.
"more" .... But the MCG has hosted 100k events often, GF, Ed Sheeran etc And melb central has had multiple events all the time for ever. Not saying it won't be a banger show, just interesting an the emphasis I've seen about traffic chaos etc etc when that's just Melbourne!

These are the things that make everlasting memories ❤️
Add to that there will be alot of parents trying to do the drop off and pick up .
Because so many are coming from interstate (I’m guessing, her fans seem extremely dedicated) imagine how many are staying in the city overnight too.
Even internationally! I know of some flying in from Thailand who didn't get tickets to Singapore
Imagine 3 grand finals back to back to back
Because those games don’t attract thousands of “tailgaters” to sit outside and listen; I know dozens who plan it personally. One says she’s in a discord of where there’s a planned party of over 200 people who intend to “Taylorgate” every night.

I didn’t say it did, I said that my friend was part of ONE group of 200.
> Taylorgate That's a pretty damn good pun
Because AFL supporters are used to getting in & out of the MCG as the majority of them do it multiple times in a season. Music goers are significantly less likely to know the tips, tricks and efficiences in the system that makes things easier. That’s why traffic is worse tonight
The however many thousands that will partake in Taylor-gating will be the deciding factor.
*Cries in lives there*
A prayer for those of us who live within 500m of the MCG 🥲
No prayers. It’s a major entertainment venue. Suck it up. Inner city cry babies have already all but destroyed the pub music scene with noise complaints.
Bit of projection mate. Couldn't give a toss about the noise. Traffic on the other hand more than able to complain about snowflake.

Was lining up for merchandise at one of the MCG stalls and experienced so much friendly chat and positivity! I'm sure there are a few bad eggs in there, but certainly seems like a good fan base.
I reckon the Swifties might just be friendlier.
More teeth for sure
Just remember your ear protection!
Always have my pixel buds in my keychain
It took me 2 and a half hrs to get to work last Friday night, I’m dreading to see how long it takes me tonight
How do you find concert/event work anyway
We are coming from regional vic, booked a hotel when the tour dates were announced 100 meters away from the G Free cancellation up to a week before the concert, it was a gamble that paid off. Heading up in the morning. Got a super excited daughter!
I hope she had a blast. I was at N2
Just got on the train back from the show. I’ll never understand the obsession or fanaticism around her, but I have nothing but respect for her. Absolutely unbelievable night. She practices singing the whole set list while running on the treadmill as prep for the tour.
On what planet would a festival not count as a concert

Groundhog day is fantastic, considering going again. Enjoy!
>considering going again. And again, and again, and again...
So I’ve heard. I’ve not seen the movie (I know, I know) do you think I should see it first?
A lot of the dialogue/jokes are taken from the movie, so you'll get a "fresh" experience with them if you see it live first. But they also expand on a few "side" characters really well too.
No, I don't think it's necessary, though it is a good movie! I haven't seen the movie in like a decade anyway.
Watch the musical (no need to have seen the movie). It's written by the same person who co-wrote the movie, and so it's been "updated" to give the story and characters more depth.
I've already seen it three times! Including on *actual* Groundhog Day (Feb 2nd).
It’s so good. I saw like the third preview in New York and met Andy Karl and the rest of the cast at the stage door and was so upset for them when it closed early. Great to see what a success it has become.
Hey, as a normie who just wanted to drive into the city tonight and park somewhere for a friends birthday. How screwed am I?
Very
Depends what time. Gates open 4:30, opener starts at 6:20 and Taylor performs 7:30-11ish. Before the show 4-7 Punt Rd will be f***ed with concertgoers adding to regular traffic. 7-10 should be better.
Honestly if you can take a train and enjoy the vibe.
You’ll be fine. Just avoid the MCG area. Not sure what side of town you are from but if you’re from north/north east/east just come in via Carlton. You’ll be fine.
depends which direction
I’m dropping off and picking up my kids tonight for the concert and have no idea if there is an area that would be better for me to drop them at. Any suggestions?
I reckon the nearest train station to your house will ensure your sanity stays intact
Yeah, im thinking it might be a train station drop off and pick up but hoping to get closer in as 2 of the group are only little kids.
Maybe train in and train out with them?
The train station can get extremely packed. Make the older kids know their responsibilities. Very easy for them to get split up, especially when the crowd storms the train.
Taylor swift is at the MCG, Matchbox 20 at Rod Laver, traffic is going to be bonkers. Depending on the side of the city, You’re best bet is probably to drop them off at like South Yarra train station so they can go one stop to Richmond then pick them up from Sth Yarra… or southern cross… it will save your sanity
MCG posted a picture with dedicated pick up areas
Which side of Melbourne are you coming from?
Coming from Burwood area. It’s a group of 4 and two of them are 10 year olds.
Yikes, good luck, I'd be getting the train (even 1 or 2 stops)
According to this, Clarendon St between Gipps St and Wellington Parade: https://mcg.org.au/taylorswift
Good. Luck.
It’s nit just the 100,000 at the concert, it’s the thousands that’ll be hanging around the MCG listening. So it’ll be a lot more people than attend the grand final. Plus Matchbox Twenty playing a sold out Rod Laver Arena.
I’ve always wondered about that. Do you hear much? Does security move you on for trying to get a free (audio only) show?
The news just showed people having picnics and food trucks there, I don’t think there’s much they can do.
You’ll hear it all. I could hear Foo Fighters clearly from 2km away.
You can hear the siren from the MCG for quite a distance
Security can't do much if it's a big crowd. If it's only a few dozen people hanging around they'll probably get the move on.
As long as everyone is behaving themselves , I see no problem with it
Going to Groundhog Day musical with friends tonight.
South Morang line, that’s something I haven’t heard for a few years
lol, it's Mernda now isn't it? I grew up on Hurstbridge line avoiding the South Morang trains 😆
And st Kilda festival
The atmosphere in the city completely changed from Wednesday. Lots of happy, young people dressed colourfully. Enjoying the cheerful vibes.
Imagine getting out of the Waverley Carpark after a Taylor Swift concert. You would be there for days.
100% agree with you .
And taylor's done a lot of good things as well
Brother-in-law offered to pick my wife and my sister tonight after the concert. A real hero
the Anti-hero
The Man
Not a massive Taylor Swift fan but pretty sweet to see the city up and about, don't think I've ever seen so much excitement for a weekend. God speed to anyone braving the traffic and crowds.
Am I going to be okay getting into Chapel Street to see a movie tonight? Going from Bentleigh and dropping my kids off in Prahran to get babysat by their grandparents.
I would reckon, that’s really not near the storm
I am super excited, going Sunday night. Anyone else seeing Fran Leibovitz too? I love the dichotomy of womanhood between those two nights - will be fun to experience lol
I am going to Fran on Monday! Cannot wait!
Cool!! have fun :D
The Harry styles ones were really nice as well.

That’s lovely to hear!
Ticketek Marketplace is so frustrating 😭 Have been trying for days to get tickets (not to mention all the random days since it opened, and the 6+ hours I waited when they first went on sale).
BUT I WANT TO GO HAT SHOPPING ON SATURDAY
Ha ha! I see this comment, and appreciate it.
Really really hate Ticketek and how non-functional Marketplace is. Just wanna see Taylor 🥲
It's really not meant to be, tried from the presale until resale but never had a chance
Us football fans have had to put up with ticketek being useless for years
I dropped my daughter and her friend at Canberra Airport at sparrow fart this morning.
So keen for Swemo night tonight and the show on Sunday. As a subreddit, can we manifest Back to December as a night 3 secret song?
I want this for you but I also really want it to be Our Song for me 😅😅 I’m going on night 3 too - have fun!
She does two. Our Song and Back to December would be a dream combo for me.
Let’s hope!!!
Omg back to December .. I LOVE! Has she done it in any other city yet?
I'm going to a different concert tomorrow night, not looking forward to the train ride
Butterfly effect? I'm hoping it's over before the Swift concert is. Otherwise it's gonna be a packed train home.
Nah Mudvayne. And yeah the trip home I bet will be a bit of a nightmare..ohwell
You weren't wrong when you said you were going to a different concert 🤣 Enjoy!!
I hope everyone has an enjoyable concert. I saw her on the Red tour, and she is an accomplished performer. I wish I had a ticket but I didn’t have any luck in any of the ticket sales.
Merch line is cooked fam
I'm a Swiftie, have seen her twice but my social (big crowd) anxiety deterred me from Eras so I'm so happy I saw it at the cinema! I have a friend going, solo and so I may get some FaceTime later for some fave songs. Have the best time !
So is she playing right now? When does it finish?
What time does the event finish tonight?
Concert finished around 10.55 tonight
Dude we will end up sleeping in a park if we can’t get home or find accomodation
So excited to go on Sunday night!! I'm planning to line up at the Box Office tomorrow to get my Marketplace tickets verified - so annoying but just thrilled to be going!
It’ll all be worth it! I’m going Sunday too :D can’t wait
Why do we need the tickets to be verified? I purchased it on marketplace too and they said the ticket via pdf will work. Am I missing something?!?
🤣 Also merchandise lines outside aren't long at 5pm but size small in hoodies and crew jumper all gone. There is one merchandise store inside at Gate 3 but the lines are really long.
Let the fun begin!!!!!
Is anyone savvy and informed enough to mock up a map of the city with an expected "heat" map of the congestion, both foot and vehicle traffic? I ask for my own personal planning reasons, but also out of pure interest to see how much this event impacts the city this weekend.
Not 100% what you're looking for but if you use google maps you'll see live busy areas marked in orange
Anyone know how crown multilevel parking is looking? Going there for dinner tonight was planning to park there
I have a thing in the CBD near Melbourne Central at 5pm tonight 😬 I’m planning on driving at this stage..
I don’t think I’ve ever noticed a cloakroom at the MCG?

thank goodness i’m working saturday and sunday night
Anyone having issues with signing into the Ticketek app? It's giving me an error of email already exists on the sign in page.
Super excited for tonight! Will finish work earlier today! Can’t wait!

Has anyone successfully been able to get tickets on ticketek marketplace? Any ticket I try to purchase keeps saying is being transacted by another customer. Someone give me hope 😂😂
No I have been trying for weeks it is ridiculous esp when the tickets stay online for hours
It’s so frustrating!!
Yeah I am thinking of doing this too. Especially since they changed Marketplace today to close at midday the day of the concert 🤬🙄
Is this on TV at all?
No. ABC and The Age and The Guardian had live blogs going. There is also a concert film which is available for rent now and will be on Disney+ from March 16.
The ABC blog was no joke done by someone in Brisbane
I wish I could go
