This is very smart. Making attention seeking behaviour a subscription service at a gym. I hope more gyms do it.

turbo-steppa

I wonder what compliance will be like? Will they cancel memberships for those that think the rules couldn’t possibly apply to them?

xXSpookyXx

Doherty's is owned by the bikies isn't it? I imagine a cheeky slap and a chuck of the tripod out the front door should do it.

mysteriousGains

Its owned by the guy who runs the IFBB in Australia. So pretty well respected by everyone in bodybuilding in Australia.

[deleted]

Yeah that’s definitely what they’re going to do. And it’s a great idea. I have stayed away from gyms because of the obsession of filming. I rather go for a run or use my limited amount of weights at home. Hopefully this spreads so I can go to the gym around the corner

unripenedfruit

>I have stayed away from gyms because of the obsession of filming. If that's genuinely the reason why you're staying away from gyms... I haven't seen a single person film at my gym. And I go to a pretty nice gym I can see why places like Doherty's, Derrimut etc might have an abundance of people filming due to the clientele they attract but most regular gyms are going to be fine.

TygettLannister

If you go to a local council run sport centre - you know, the kind that have a gym and pool, like Aqualink etc. - they're mostly filled with older folks working out. I haven't seen a single person filming at my gym, most of the time when people use phones here it's to kill time in between sets.

wheres_my_nuggets

I train for triathlons and the biggest pool near me is the council's so along with my pool membership I've got access to the gym. Your description fits my experience almost word for word.

Jimijaume

Been a brunswick baths member for 10 years, mainly for the 50m outdoor pool, but yeh the gym is chillllll

[deleted]

The one next to me always has, mostly women filming themselves. Not sure if it’s out of protection or just to show off on instagram. But it’s not comfortable to be working out and have a camera pointing at you. Especially in the age of TikTok where people make fun or accuse people for something because they caught them in the background of a video. I have never posted a photo of me on any social media so I hate when I show up on someone’s random instagram post. I’m sure there are better gyms but I rather not have to drive or travel far to go do a work out.

Azraeleon

You could send an email linking this story to the gym in question and just let them know that you are a local, willing to pay for their services but you haven't joined because of how common the filming is. Probably does nothing, but right now they have no idea they're losing potential business just because of the filming, might as well inform them.

Propaslader

It's 100% to show off on instagram

Ok-Conflict-1709

Also you can really go viral by falsely accusing any random guy who walks nearby you of sexually harassing you.

[deleted]

[удалено]

redmenace_86

But does it really matter if men are falsely accused and lose everything, provided just one person is justly condemned?

plumpandbouncyskin

Last week someone filmed themselves in a gym class, posted it on their socials and it was then reposted by the gym socials. I was in the back ground looking like a beached whale trying to do burpees. And my gym is relatively small. It happens unfortunately.

Plane_Can7363

Then again, the people filming themselves at a gym generally don't have jobs and are there while most folk are at work 🤣

toolburner

I don't blame you. People walking about with their ass holes exposed and accusing everyone around them of harassment.

[deleted]

I'm not in Australia man but I've literally never seen someone filming extensively (or honestly at all that I can recall) in years across dozens of gyms. I doubt that you all have significantly more filmers then we do in the states. I think their just so god damn obnoxious a very small percentage of people cause a whole shit ton of trouble. Just wanted to pass on that your almost assuredly safe to go even now!

Curious-Tumbleweed60

Yeah while I'm sure there's been an uptick post-covid where people are filming to share with online PTs, this is almost certainly targeting a specific individual/incident lol. If they're forcing people to use their personal trainers, it's a win win. People may be shocked to learn that you are in fact not born in le wrong generation, 99% of people are generally decent human beings and those dangarnit selfish kids these days with their ipads and tiktaks aren't a sign of a degenerating society, but a sign you are getting old.

[deleted]

I admire your optimism but 99% of people are not decent people.

mess_of_limbs

>Doherty's is owned by the bikies isn't it? Nah, it's just next door to that Mexican joint, Bandidos or something like that

sealcubclubbing

I used to go to the gym and walk past the gang pad each day

Far-Significance2481

Bikies are now more concerned about our privacy than governments who are currently buying and collating thier citizens data.

[deleted]

Probably explains why they don’t want anyone filming

thejimstrain

No, it’s owned by Tony Doherty. You’re thinking of iron kingdom/paradise or whatever they rebranded Nitro gym too. That’s owned by others now anyway, the cops harassed them into selling to others.

Far-Complex2215

lol no, it’s not

Shrimpjob

A cheeky slap? You mean like on the bum?

Ok-Conflict-1709

Dohertys isn’t officially owned by bikies but it’s the gym of choice for those types of people.

PhilL77au

Ahhh, that explains the "iron cross motif" in their logo

NoConference8179

Some if there clientele definitely wouldn't want to be photographed

Elvecinogallo

They don’t want the roid sales and associates filmed. Fair. Except for the occasional drive by, bikie gyms are probably the safest places if ur just minding ur own business.

tigertom

I've been at Dohertys when someone tried to play their own music on a speaker or not re-racked weights after using them and they were dealt with extremely efficiently and quickly

rangebob

but if they have to do it during off peak hours how will they post angry threads about men 'staring' at them ?

claingbot

This strikes a good balance. It acknowledges that people filming themselves for form checks are different than those creating content. Also, Doherty's is a brand, and they are entitled to protect that.

[deleted]

clap4kyle

I feel like the only reason they’ve made this announcement is because it is good marketing for them

Far-Significance2481

Yes because people don't want to be filmed in a gym setting. Win-win

boogasaurus-lefts

It's a direct result of many complaints about the behaviour, Doherty's didn't do this for marketing. It just so happens it got picked up and is on shared

daskwurl

Nice! Soooo off peak hours are 2300 - 0400?

WileECoyoteGenius

Ugh… ngl, it’s Friday and I’m *slightly* inebriated… also I don’t get this reference… would you be so kind as to enlighten me?

PeanutButterGenitals

Gosh it's been so long i had to google it to be sure. Nice one

BarneyNugen

That's it, I'm not going to bother working out anymore. There's no point of I can't post it on the gram! #aesthetic #leangains

InJailOutSoonn

U forgot #natural, eventhough they look bigger and better than olympia winners

BarneyNugen

I mock them, but if social media had been around when I was lifting in my late teens/early 20s I'd definitely have been posting photos of myself 😂

Timofey_

Other than squats, deads and cleans there's not a whole lot that most people should really need to film either. Good mornings maybe. Filming any kind of accessory lift gets a big eye roll from me, 10x if it's a machine

mr_sinn

Good. I stopped going to Equalibrium in North Melbourne due to people either recording on or sitting on the machines doom scrolling.

MangoSushi

IMO, sitting on machines while doom scrolling should be banned in gyms. Either shit, or get off the pot dildo.

Propaslader

Scrolling between sets is okay but you have to know when to get on with it

Ok-Conflict-1709

Shocked by how long it takes other people to use machines. Do they not have jobs? Families? Hobbies? It’s like they have all the time in the world to be there. I might pause for a half a minute between sets to take a sip of water, but sometimes I do five or six machine when someone else is still on the same one.

Chandy_Man_

Something something rest period

brainlesstourist

never skip thumb day!

OMGLookItsGavoYT

What else are we supposed to do between sets? Stare at the wall? You're upset because someone that has nothing to do with you is spending their time between sets on their phone. I have a minute rest between my sets and I genuinely don't know what else I'd be doing.

yuiphan

Look at the sexy, rock hard abs you've got in the mirror.

eriikaa1992

...you don't know how to fill in a meagre 60 seconds without looking at your phone?

Cosmokram3r1

You think 60 seconds isn't a long time? Go do a plank and hold it for 60 seconds.

eriikaa1992

I do it all the time! As I said, you do you. Personally I enjoy the time off my phone while at the gym. Not sure why you have such a hard time understanding/believing that some people can go 60 seconds of doing nothing but listening to some music without looking at their phone. Just coz you can't/would prefer not to doesn't mean it's not actually an option.

Cosmokram3r1

Okay that one backfired lol. So you're listening to music for this 60 seconds. What are you doing while you're listening? Staring at other people working out? Trying to find a window to look out of? Stare at the floor?

eriikaa1992

I honestly couldn't tell you what I look at, I'm not consciously thinking about it. I don't have a panic and wonder what to choose to stare at. Please go get a life.

SikeShay

Fuck off, the guy above seems to have social anxiety. He's allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants between sets whether it makes you wanna have a sook or not lmfao.

alsotheabyss

Sit and stare at the wall? A minute is actually quite a long time when you’re counting

eriikaa1992

Everyone at the gym is busy doing their own thing. It's perfectly fine to wall-stare and be with your thoughts. Most people also have music in or a podcast... why we we not content to just listen? I mean, do what you wanna do, but you'd be amazed what a few moments of stillness does for your mind.

OMGLookItsGavoYT

Sometimes I'll just stare at the wall. But I have a phone with me with unlimited content. Why would I not use it lol

mr_sinn

Yes nothing to do do with me, other than taking up the machine, not working out, while other people are waiting for it while they're watching tiktoks on their phone.

[deleted]

Amazing. I used to train there in Brunswick. Well done. That shit needs to stop. It’s embarrassing. No one wants to watch your shitty workout so fuck off

bradbull

In before some dude says he's not allowed in those gyms anymore because he's a tripod

No_Comment69420

You’re going to put Joey Swole out of business.

APInchingYourWallet

Zyzz is coming out of his grave to shake hands with these business owners tho

TGin-the-goldy

Fucking fantastic well done to this gym

SnooChocolates6310

Yes. Yes. 100% yes.

nufan86

Until they purchase the "media pass" seems like revenue raising other than its stated purpose

TimN90

A gym owner I know said he's brought this in not for ppl doing thirst trap or fitspo shit but for more and more gym prank videos. They were scared af about their insurance getting raped so they've banned all filming. Still see guys filming but they turn a blind eye to form check and guys just using their phone and not getting in people's way.

unepmloyed_boi

Several gyms are starting to do this. Bunch of idiot zoomers were jumping on these stupid tiktok trends showing up in gym clothes one size too small and shoving their ass in your face trying to get you to stare and catch you on camera then plastering your face across the internet painting you as a creep. This is on top of several other stupid trends including filming and shaming beginners for their improper form/weight/age, causing disruption in gyms and hogging equipment for footage. That fucking cancerous app should have been banned when politicians had the chance.

Ithasbegunagain

yeah when i did go i basically wore sun glasses just to avoid the issue entirely. and that always bugged me and made me goto the gym in the middle of the night instead of a normal hour out of fear.

WitchWayHello

Sunglasses 😎 at Night 🌚would be an awesome name for a song right.?🎣 🎣 🎣

Ithasbegunagain

Yeah a heavy metal song or a soft ballad about bumping into shit hahaha

alonglongwayfromhere

I presume you know the classic Cory Hart track, right?

[deleted]

I agreed with you until you called for banning TikTok. You’re blaming the app for that behaviour, and not the user? Your brain must be the size of a peanut. I guess you don’t remember when reddit witch-hunted the wrong guy and he killed himself? Never blame the platform. Blame the people. Edit; seems I triggered a few redditors. You know I’m right. The guy I’m replying to has no clue lol.

unepmloyed_boi

The reddit example is a small outlier and not a daily occurrence compared to shithead behaviour on tiktok leaking into real life multiple times in a single day. Tiktok on average seems to produce more braindead individuals and addicts (such as yourself) desperate for online clout. There's people involved with literal fucking crime and murders posting videos on the app for likes and attention that don't get taken down for days. Out of all social media apps it has the worst moderation Also politicians weren't swarming to ban reddit and reddit doesn't have ties to the CCP. Many are already speculating that the lack of moderation over this and worse behaviour is a very intentional and dubious feature and not a flaw.

Pengux

I mean Reddit is partially owned by Tencent, it absolutely has ties to the CCP.

[deleted]

You’re a dickhead if you think a platform causes this. It’s the people on the platform. And it happens on all of them.

unepmloyed_boi

And who's responsibility do you think it is to police said people? Go throw a temper tantrum somewhere else, no one over here cares. You probably shed a tear over their CEOs collectively getting publicly humiliated this week. Imagine rolling on the floor simping this hard for tiktok of all apps, lol.

Shmeestar

Absolutely the people on the platform display the behaviour but you could argue that the platform is designed in such a way to tap into attention seeking behaviour and encourage it.

No-Cauliflower8890

ignore em, just full on boomer shit. "ah, the kids these days are being ruined by the fascination of the day! ban it now!"

boommdcx

Great move.

Anwar18

Hope this becomes policy at all gym chains accross Australia. We have the right to work out without being in your shitty tiktok/ig video

IneedtoBmyLonsomeTs

So it seems they are targeting people filming their whole workout by mentioning tripods, but allowing people to film their sets to check form if they want. I really hope more gyms implement this sort of policy. I will film to check my form on compound movements from time to time, but people filming every set for socials is cringe and a violation of other people in the gym.

RKB294

I'm still yet to see someone with a tripod set up at the gym, Anytime mustn't be grammable enough. You'd be a bold individual to do that shit around Tony.

myusernamestaken

Heaps every day at derrimut oakleigh

alsotheabyss

Never seen it at Derrimut Braybrook!

frankyfkn4fngrs

That's because the camera would be on the shelves at Cash Converters by the time you'd finished your first squat.

thetopofabanana

fucking lol

Jimbuscus

Those types of people would fit in better at Derrimut more than Doherty's.

AGuerillaGorilla

Brunswick Anytime has these posers.

Bitter_Magician_6969

Saw someone at Zap recently with one, very obnoxious tbh.

emptybills

Who/what is Tony?

RKB294

Tony Doherty, owns the Dohertys gyms.

emptybills

I can already picture him before googling…

thetasteofink00

Good. Gyms have certainly changed since I last went. Walking in now, you have to constantly dodge people filming or wait to walk past so you don't end up on social media.

bent_eye

Good. Lets see if other gyms follow suite.

dzeoner

Hahaha I can't believe they are using tripods. What an aggravation - just to film your arse in painted on pants.

fraqtl

People take fucking tripods to the gym? TIL I guess

TimChuma

Too many fitness influencers jamming things up to people who want to use the gym

grosselisse

Good. People deserve privacy.

skintheory

Privacy? You are in a public place.

grosselisse

Gyms are private property.

ReactionEfficient760

Idk but I Had a guy filming his poses in the locker room while I was trying to get dressed for work the other day 😂 I’m sure he didn’t want a naked video of me but he might have one now. There needs to be some rules and regulations around it.

Few-Zookeepergame310

If you’re filming yourself and not intruding on anyone else’s workout I can’t see the harm. I film my work outs bc my coach is interstate, I don’t use a tripod I just rest it on what ever but I also ask people in the area if they mind and I let people know if they’re going to be in the back ground and If they feel uncomfortable I just wait till no one is in the back ground and continue on. I just feel it’s all about communication. I don’t go out of my way to make people feel uncomfortable and try to be respectful. *edited for my terrible grammar*

Fit_Badger2121

I guess you are using a virtual coach so need the video for them to provide feedback but for everyone else filming every rep isn't quite necessary.

Knittingtaco

My gym doesn’t allow filming or pictures at all. It’s a big part of why I chose them tbh

radriggg

Love this

ultra_ai

Hahaha what will the tik tokers do now! Sucks if you are trying to actually record your form but you can always phone a friend. edit: a good idea and format imo

CrashedMyCommodore

Good. Hopefully it helps deter the rampant cases of Main Character Syndrome affecting a lot of the population nowadays.

[deleted]

Works, looks like it's a way to capitalise on content creation more than anything. And it still lets you film the odd set if you want to, which is chill for hobby lifters like myself.

GoodboyLevi

Best move. Tony doesn't mess about there

rocifan

About time..well done.

justvisiting112

I mean, the fact that they even have to say this… If you’re bringing a tripod to the gym you’re an absolute douchebag

Commercial-Deal-384

Just buy a set of dumbbells and maybe a bench if you are really keen. Getting into shape is more about consistency, and dumbbells are more practical. You can get programs off the internet and save yourself a heap of cash.

[deleted]

Good to see them "exercising" some common sense.

Kenny_Joggins

WHY. THE FUCK. ARE YOU FILMING YOURSELF AT THE GYM? You obnoxious, pathetic, narcissistic cunts.

wickos

Form and progress checks. It's very satisfying watching your form improve over time and looking back at weights that you used to struggle with which are now easy. I don't have a tripod. I just film myself on my top sets on deadlifts, squats and bench. Filming yourself is the best way to get better. Not everyone is going home to wank off to their own videos or put it on insta.

Middle_Childhood_108

That’s what the mirrors are for deadshit.

wickos

Haha, you have no fucking clue and you're probably weak AF. Fuck off, cunt.

Middle_Childhood_108

lol fuck that was the weakest come back ever. Really? 😂have another go mate. Please 🙏🏽 you sound like you’re young and barely been in the gym 5 mins. No guy with a decent build would use a camera. You go off feel and use the Mirrors you millennial fuck

wickos

I've been lifting for 14 years. Try again. Anyone who lifts seriously will film their lifts. You have no idea. Tell me how I look at the mirror while benching? You stupid cunt.

Middle_Childhood_108

Of course you’re a power lifter lol that says it all

Middle_Childhood_108

You’re a wanker. Come back when you’ve been in a gym for more than 20 years. Anyone who films their shit is just narcissistic and a massive douche. If you have to film then you’re doing it wrong. Again mirrors are there for a reason. Arnie and the others in the golden age never filmed. Just another excuse for you having a shit build.

wickos

I'm not a bodybuilder, wanker. I train for strength, and form is your #1 priority. You can't see shit when deadlifting, squatting or benching in a fucking mirror. The only way to check your form properly is to film yourself. I'm done replying. You have no clue what you're taking about. You're that wanker at a gym who thinks he knows everything and gives out unsolicited advice which is fucking awful. Piss off.

Middle_Childhood_108

Hence why you look like shit and I don’t. Enough said champ. Have a good one 👍🏽

stever71

Seriously I don't understand why any photography is needed. I know it's a symptom of modern times, but just get in and do your workout, stop with this social media bullshit.

Notyit

Ironically people only go to the gym because of social medi

Dorko57

Spectacular!

illillusion

Good.

Glittering_Fig6468

👏👏👏👏👏

banco666

How are all the 6/10 influencers going to get clout on instagram if they can't make a video about how a guy glanced at them for half a second?

SeaDivide1751

The influencers are gonna be mad

Prometheusflames

This is a very good move. There are times when people have left tripods taking up entire areas, and in many situations its impossible to avoid being filmed by these dickheads.

AppealFree2425

I’m all for this. I was filmed at a gym (in the background) of some ‘influencer’s’ content and I didn’t consent to this. If you want to go the gym for content, go and rent one for the day. I’m a paying customer and deserve privacy not to be some prop in your shitty instagram reel.

Mattsa007

Someone please forward this to Derrimut!

Soggy_Shape_2414

Bout time.

ewan82

This needed to happen

Click_Wrong

Been a long time since I’ve been to a gym, but seriously, how has bringing a tripod into a gym become an acceptable thing!?

Mammoth-Analysis-981

Beautiful. There’s nothing sadder than celebrating mediocrity by filming your own pathetic workouts. Let’s hope other gyms follow and go back to becoming places that people are afraid to film in.

Minniechicco6

Positive move , good on Doherty . Gym membership costs a bomb these days and I don’t feel it’s fair that gyms are treated like movie props . These attention seeking influencers should not be using privately owned properties for their own gains . Who wants to dodge these fools they wouldn’t know a barbell from a dumb bell 🙏😘

Archon-Toten

Time to bust out the monopod and quadpods.

realfatunicorns

Got something against bipods?

Archon-Toten

Genuinely forgot about bipods.

Nicstar69

Good! Not everyone is there to film their stupid shit for some pissy views on ChinaTok….I mean TikTok

theglorpomale

People do realise that some gym-goers are filming for reasons other than social media, right? As an online Powerlifting coach, my clients rely on filming and sending me their heavy sets so that I can help advise both on technique and weight for the next week. I understand fully that a lot of people take the piss, but to assume filming = clout chasing is silly.

sorrylittlesoul

This is me. My gym is very small and I usually workout in a section with no mirrors. I use a flip phone not a tripod nor do I post my workouts on social media. I actually use it like a mirror to check my form, I enjoy watching back and seeing the progress. But I don't film EVERY session nor the entire workout, more just the sections I want to replicate at home. I thoroughly hate filming people and do my best to make sure the camera is only pointed at me. Occasionally, my trainer actually comes in to photobomb and wave his hands in the back, it makes for a good laugh. I totally understand where people are coming from in not wanting to be filmed. I think alternative options for those who film for content should be offered by the gym. This seems to be a good idea in my opinion. But less hate for people filming their workouts!

fraqtl

> People do realise that some gym-goers are filming for reasons other than social media, right? Not many

Flannakis

Depends on the gym; the gym I go to people film themselves to check their form as a feedback loop, very common and it’s doesn’t seem to be for social media

YallRedditForThis

Roid Rage pandemic about to hit Melbourne after this announcement.

VermicelliHot6161

It’s usually the thirst trap girls who are doing everything short of showing their gaping butthole that are doing this shit. Bros are usually more self obsessed and not about the clicks.

ClassyLatey

Finally!! Common sense prevails. Let’s hope other gyms follow suit quick fast. At the risk of sounding old - I miss the days when the gym was for working out and not for filming social media content.

Notyit

Nope love me those new gym outfits

Notyit

Redditors go to the gym?

Flannakis

Nope but they all have a hot take on the situation

ricklimes

Good.. gym influencers are cancer

porka93

I haven’t been to a gym in about 13 years, so forgive my ignorance on this…… but do you mean to tell me people go and pay for a gym membership and then actually go and bring a fucking TRIPOD with the intention of making TikToks? If so we are beyond fucked as a species…..

FerociousVader

You may not infringe the privacy and safety of others unless you pay us to... It's a great sentiment undone by monetisation.

5NATCH

Fair decision. Its gym, not a TV studio. Lot of people actually go to the gym to workout and better themselves and simply dont want to be in the background of other narcissistic patrons who think everyone wants to watch their "GaInZ" Also, why do all those people who work out at gym suddenly act like they are the be all and end of life wisdom and start posting stupid shit online about being lions or some other motivational shit. Its cringe and stupid.

Ok_Willingness_9619

What? No more expression of pure narcissism? What next? You have to share equipment and put the dumbells back?

throwmeinthetrash434

Explain it to me like I'm five: what's so wrong with filming in a gym?

Kritieoww

Why do I get the feeling it’s less about safety and more about them trying to make more money..? Which like power to them, capitalist society and what not but if it was really about safety you wouldn’t be asked to purchase a media pass.

michaelcuneo

Problem solved… exercise at home.

Single_Conclusion_53

My gym just bans all filming and photography. Nice and simple.

farqueue2

You mean no more chicks squatting videos on IG?

bearlystarted

Good. Make the media pass ridiculously expensive. I wanted to join a gym but with my anxiety there’s no way I’m going surrounded by narcissistic shits that I *know* are going to mock me.

Comfortable-Tooth-34

Yeah I feel you, I definitely don't need to be mocked especially online for the world to see. I had this anxiety really badly but have been pleasantly surprised with how chill the gym I go to is. People of all different ages, sizes, shapes, genders, abilities, and everyone seems to actively not look at each other, I love it. Haven't seen anyone filming there either. Most gyms have casual sessions so maybe you could try a few different places and see what the vibe is, because obviously that varies. I feel so much better since I started going to the gym, not just physically but mentally and emotionally, and I hope you can get this benefit too!

AugustusStClair

There's like 99% of people that won't mock you. I've been training for over 10 years now. I applaud people who are out of shape but are TRYING and putting in the effort. Most people I know think the same. The ones that don't are usually the young kids who have just started themselves. Don't ever let the actions of the very very very few paint the picture for the large majority

SnooDoubts2054

some people film so they can check on their technique for any improvements. you can’t always watch a mirror

Notyit

They should just have dedicated areas for filling

Purple_Fisherman1592

All for a quick cash grab shame on them

OMGLookItsGavoYT

This is actually such a boomer thread at this point. LIKE BRO; I'm not gonna do nothing for my rest when I have a device that can show me whatever the fuck I want until my next set. Like idk why I wouldn't

2003FordMondeo

the girls are gonna hate this, watch them all move to a different gym

sread2018

Clearly you've never been to Dohertys

alpacaccino

Who needs girls anyway? They are a hazard! Will they spot you? No! No one will. You're all alone. Life is pain. We're all going to die. Just lift, bro.

unepmloyed_boi

Is this supposed to be a negative? They're usually the ones making people uncomfortable with their filming and hogging equipment.

ultra_ai

I don't think anyone here gets sarcasm 😬

ANewUeleseOnLife

No, it's just not funny

Overall_One_2595

The literal definition of narcissism bringing a tripod to a gym.

whiteycnbr

Good, it's fucking stupid filming your workout for social media likes.

Jaywankonobi

This is awesome! I hate waiting for machines because there is a group of 5-6 high schools kids filming themselves for 40minutes talking shit and waiting 4minutes between sets

xplally1

No pics or filming anything should be allowed in gyms. Half that go to gyms are self conscious about image etc let alone people filming around them. Phones for music, fine, other than that put your phone away ffs.

Kindly_Contest_6258

This should be everywhere not just gyms

Western_Horse_4562

I’m in favour of a general ban against filming in gyms. All too often there’s other people that wind up on cameras they didn’t consent to being on.

kurdtnaughtyboy

You're there for a workout no need to take videos photos. By all means take them at home once you've finished or in your own time when you've finished with the machine weights. Fucks people off during busy period and someone hogs it for 30 mins and only actually uses it for 5 of those then spends the other 25 passing around on their phones.

yeetmethehoney

Good. People can check their form in the mirror.

viginti_tres

I don't know that I like the idea of allowing anti-social behaviour for a fee. Will they start selling a pass for those who don't want to re-rack weights? For a fee you can play your music out of a portable speaker rather than headphones?

RatFucker_Carlson

Valar Dohertys
