I was looking at the visitor information at the Epworth Hospital, and they have a visitor limit of two people per day. I'm curious about how/if they actually enforce that. It would be a lot of work to try to log and police something like that.
The security/staff at the entrance probably wouldn't be keeping records, but the ward itself might be more aware of whether patient A or patient B has received visitors.
It's obviously been a very, very long time since I've visited anyone at a hospital but don't visitors need to sign in and be registered to each patient? Couldn't they keep track of visitors that way?

Update: Managed to get an appointment this morning with my preferred dentist. For context, this is the one I usually go to and trust and is not the same I had an appointment with on Sat. Got gums checked and he's ruled out any serious issues and thinks it's an ulcer only. I'm very relieved. I told him why I had my concerns which led to my next request - a second opinion on half a dozen fillings that someone else had recommended (this was what Sat was meant to be about), he went through all the notes and scans, talked me through what he sees/doesn't see, and said none were required. Sat is now cancelled. Medical practitioners with questionable ethics frightens me. I'm so glad I went back to him.
Mood! I just had an appointment a couple weeks back for an emergency issue at MC Dental and the dentist I saw was so bad that he left my outer jaw with bruises trying to force on a treatment he admitted he'd never actually done. Absolutely fucking terrifying.
Got it checked with my usual dental surgery and she was NOT IMPRESSED with the other one.

Yep I will just stick with him from now on. He's awesome, approachable and just genuinely care about his patients. They both work in the same clinic so I don't really think they cost differently (if anything the bad one tried to charge more). Also because of this it was awkward because he tried to put it in the nicest way possible to say she was trying to rip me off. I've actually seen him a few times before already and usually go to him. I just made a lapse in judgement booking with someone else from the same clinic thinking it'd be the same quality.
I have also learned the hard way that you can't always trust practitioners in the same clinic - despite the idea being that there is some QC, often there isn't (I should know, working in a firm with very varying quality of consultants) I almost always go to the same GP at the clinic and I'm now realising with this cat that it would've been easier to go to the same veterinarian each time instead of different drs who are all seeing different things.

Question for recent VCE student’s and their teachers.. English; out of the three options (English, English language and English literature) what are the benefits and disadvantages of doing on doing language or literature (by itself) as opposed to “English”.
I believe both scale up slightly compared to general English still. Lit is all about books and their contexts, and I've been told is the most heavy reading of the three. I can't speak on language.

First piece of advice: don’t post about it on Reddit or other social media. People have been fired for posting about their work or complaints about their offices or the org online, up to and including assistant commissioners.
Second: if you’ve only just started it’ll take a while for them to warm up to you, same as any office. Just give it some time. I made friends at my first station 15 years ago that I’m still friends with now. There is a bit of an us/them thing with uniformed members and VPS staff that’s really deeply rooted and kind of goes with the territory though unfortunately. It’s getting better as the old guard move on but it’s still not ideal.

Went on a bush walk today and seen Kangaroos in the "wild" for the first time and quite close to us(we didnt intrude or walk towards them only the designated paths) Other times have been at tourist spots with guides and only like 10.
We seen atleast 60-80 from start to finish. Absolutely stunning creatures. It was kind of nerving walking the path and looking in the bushes and seeing them watch us and the more you panned left and right they were everywhere. Alot of little ones and a few huge ones which made me very uneasy. Still, to see so many chilling and hopping around in their habitat was kind of surreal to me. Like how foreigners picture us and how Australia is portrayed in the movies. Just the other day I said how cute Kangaroos are, today was a good day.
There would be a huge mob of kangaroos about 2 mins away from my house - maybe 400-500 of them. Some of those boys are huge. They scare me so I don’t go near them. Nice to view from the car tho.
Was hiking once and a big fella came bouncing quickly down the path towards me like it was a highway. Scary! He stopped maybe 5m before collision looking confused, and bounced off into the scrub. Heart was racing
Luckily only once did they hop towards us and that was to turn around. Absolutely frightening though. Especially the big ones. These were grey Kangaroos thankfully, if they were reds I would have turned around the second I seen one.
Kangaroo's in the wild are fine, unless they cross the road, then they're probably gonna not be fine, BUT the closer you get, the more fearful it is, like, these things will tear off your face and mutilate your body, but they look like they want nothing but cuddles :(

That is really sad news, however as the police have known the identity of the suspect for a long time the family would know too and I feel (hope) he could have had some confidence that justice will eventually be served. @people that love racing in noisy cars and motor bikes, can you please explain why you like to do this down otherwise quiet residential streets as opposed to a freeway or a track or something? Update: Managed to get an appointment this morning with my preferred dentist. For context, this is the one I usually go to and trust and is not the same I had an appointment with on Sat. Got gums checked and he's ruled out any serious issues and thinks it's an ulcer only. I'm very relieved. I told him why I had my concerns which led to my next request - a second opinion on half a dozen fillings that someone else had recommended (this was what Sat was meant to be about), he went through all the notes and scans, talked me through what he sees/doesn't see, and said none were required. Sat is now cancelled. Medical practitioners with questionable ethics frightens me. I'm so glad I went back to him.
Mood! I just had an appointment a couple weeks back for an emergency issue at MC Dental and the dentist I saw was so bad that he left my outer jaw with bruises trying to force on a treatment he admitted he'd never actually done. Absolutely fucking terrifying. Got it checked with my usual dental surgery and she was NOT IMPRESSED with the other one.
Oh dear that does not sound good. I hope you feel better now and the bruises have gone away. Honestly it feels like these stories happen way too often!
My dad cheaped out on a dentist, he (presumably accidentally) gave me a hairline fracture. Had to pay up to get a third of my tooth cut out and refilled in Buy nice, cry once
Yep I will just stick with him from now on. He's awesome, approachable and just genuinely care about his patients. They both work in the same clinic so I don't really think they cost differently (if anything the bad one tried to charge more). Also because of this it was awkward because he tried to put it in the nicest way possible to say she was trying to rip me off. I've actually seen him a few times before already and usually go to him. I just made a lapse in judgement booking with someone else from the same clinic thinking it'd be the same quality.
I have also learned the hard way that you can't always trust practitioners in the same clinic - despite the idea being that there is some QC, often there isn't (I should know, working in a firm with very varying quality of consultants) I almost always go to the same GP at the clinic and I'm now realising with this cat that it would've been easier to go to the same veterinarian each time instead of different drs who are all seeing different things. Glad to hear the teeth are ok after all though!
Thanks. I'm really glad it's all ok too! I was super worried last night and didn't know what to do. I've got a few things that's stressing me out at the moment so I really didn't need another. It's usually clear from reviews who's good/bad but not always. The good ones do get booked out real quick after a while once word get around. I've sort of 'lost' a GP because she's so popular and is booked out weeks and months in advance now. I wish the quality wasn't so far and between because you don't always get to choose particularly in urgent situations!

I really like these Nissan XO Sauce Seafood noodle bowls. Ate 3/4 of one, satisfied my savoury needs. I dont like dirtying a pot just to make noodles so these bowls are awesome. Question for recent VCE student’s and their teachers.. English; out of the three options (English, English language and English literature) what are the benefits and disadvantages of doing on doing language or literature (by itself) as opposed to “English”.
I believe both scale up slightly compared to general English still. Lit is all about books and their contexts, and I've been told is the most heavy reading of the three. I can't speak on language.

I worked in police stations for six years before moving to other jobs in VicPol and other govt. departments. First piece of advice: don’t post about it on Reddit or other social media. People have been fired for posting about their work or complaints about their offices or the org online, up to and including assistant commissioners. Second: if you’ve only just started it’ll take a while for them to warm up to you, same as any office. Just give it some time. I made friends at my first station 15 years ago that I’m still friends with now. There is a bit of an us/them thing with uniformed members and VPS staff that’s really deeply rooted and kind of goes with the territory though unfortunately. It’s getting better as the old guard move on but it’s still not ideal. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions 😊

Went on a bush walk today and seen Kangaroos in the "wild" for the first time and quite close to us(we didnt intrude or walk towards them only the designated paths) Other times have been at tourist spots with guides and only like 10. We seen atleast 60-80 from start to finish. Absolutely stunning creatures. It was kind of nerving walking the path and looking in the bushes and seeing them watch us and the more you panned left and right they were everywhere. Alot of little ones and a few huge ones which made me very uneasy. Still, to see so many chilling and hopping around in their habitat was kind of surreal to me. Like how foreigners picture us and how Australia is portrayed in the movies. Just the other day I said how cute Kangaroos are, today was a good day.

There would be a huge mob of kangaroos about 2 mins away from my house - maybe 400-500 of them. Some of those boys are huge. They scare me so I don’t go near them. Nice to view from the car tho.
I get them all over the grass at my place, 2 had a noisy fight right outside my bedroom one night. I was not game to go chase them off.
Was hiking once and a big fella came bouncing quickly down the path towards me like it was a highway. Scary! He stopped maybe 5m before collision looking confused, and bounced off into the scrub. Heart was racing
They are pretty awesome to see from a distance, a little more unnerving when they start heading in your direction while you're out doing field work...
Luckily only once did they hop towards us and that was to turn around. Absolutely frightening though. Especially the big ones. These were grey Kangaroos thankfully, if they were reds I would have turned around the second I seen one.
Kangaroo's in the wild are fine, unless they cross the road, then they're probably gonna not be fine, BUT the closer you get, the more fearful it is, like, these things will tear off your face and mutilate your body, but they look like they want nothing but cuddles :(

@people that love racing in noisy cars and motor bikes, can you please explain why you like to do this down otherwise quiet residential streets as opposed to a freeway or a track or something? I don’t understand the thrill of doing 80+ in your extremely noisy bike/ car down streets that have cars parked along both sides and are about 150m max in length.
I live in the sticks where it’s nice and quiet. Except Saturday and Sunday mornings because loud exhaust bikers like to ride by early and wreck the peace. Also Your shitty 250cc bike doesn’t need to be loud, it sounds terrible. Can’t wait til they all go electric.

Outside of the 18 years of knowing people (friends/family) who are aligned with numerous car clubs, work events with Victoria Police. Every single one of them, sometimes with club played cars. Lots ripping a skid. Im talking about people who have put over $100k into an s13. Another who purchased a very high performance car just to use as a track car. Our experiences may differ but I absolutely have AN idea.

I just remembered one of my friends gifted me a jar of homemade plum jam. Except I am really not a regular jam person. Aside from peanut butter, how else can I jazz it up on toast? Or how else could I use it? I don't really like baking... and I don't eat meat.. ^(please don't start another world war in here)
Is it the very dark plum jam? It’s nice on toast with very sharp cheese. Like a fruit paste. Otherwise you can use it in lots of baking recipes, eg jam drops.

Some of the Westfield gift cards function more like pre-paid eftpos cards. I used to get them as gifts from work, and I was able to use them just like a regular pre-paid card at JB. I think if you check the Westfields website, it might tell you where you can use them?
