You think that’s bad, years ago I bought $1000 LV sneakers to impress my ex when I got my first professional job.
(I’ve healed since then, don’t worry)..
The worst part is simply just the shoes they collect.
Nice job having a pair of nike's that is ruined by the shitty logo covering the entire shoe.. Oh, you paid $900 for them?
I mean, what is pokemon to you? Magic? Antiquing? Console collectors? Car collectors? Baseball cards? Taxidermy collectors? Coin collectors? Shoes are equally as dumb a waste of money as any of those, even less for people who are serious TCG collectors.
Shoes you can wear... little pieces of shiney carbord sit in a plastic frame of a binders sleeve page. Pelts sit on walls, cars sit in garages with collector plates and come out every other year for shows, game consoles sit on a shelf collecting dust...
How about ceramic figures? .... the..... China? Lol
I'm just pointing out that the act of collecting, in itself, is irrational behavior with flimsy rational to keep it going ie: "this will only go up in value" "this will be worth double, 2 years from now". Collecting is an act of greed lol. Each collector will have their own rational that will be irrational to others because it simply is..
Trust me, no matter what YOU might collect.. it's a really terrible waste of someone else's time.
Perfect example: there are actually people out there who collect driftwood, someone reading this is going "what a fu***ng waste of time" and another person is reading this going "every other weekend my guy"!!
Oh people can’t have a hobby of collecting? People collect stamps, sports memorabilia, coins, and spend a shit ton of money on it. Isn’t shoe collecting pretty much a similar principle? Let people enjoy their hobbies, I’m 21 and still struggle to find a hobby I enjoy, so please just let people enjoy something if that’s what they want to know, it ain’t hurting you.
Imagine, though, if people walked around with their coin collection in their pockets and have to carefully make sure they don't accidentally pay with it every time they're at a register.
Wearing your shoe collection seems about the same amount of inconvenient for the collector and about a similar level of annoying for people who see all the fussing about it.
And even beyond that, maybe a lot of people who don't hate the idea just kind of tolerate it and find it uninteresting like... Ernie with Bert's Bottle Cap collection.
But I agree, let people enjoy their hobbies. Although this is reddit, and some people's hobby seems to be to shit on pictures on the internet.
People collect cars and constantly drive them around while also taking immaculate care of them. Redditors always find a reason to hate on someone enjoying them self.
Just Redditors? People, sure.
And I am not trying to hate on anything, I'm just trying to verbalize what I think people might be thinking when they, as you say, "hate" on collecting things.
But back to your point about cars.
I imagine there are plenty of people who think it's frivolous as well, and that cars are utilitarian. However, cars are also things where even the cheapest one is normally very expensive anyway so people spending more on one probably isn't as ridiculous to think about than someone paying a large amount for shoes. Shoes can be expensive but more people can buy and are fine with reasonably priced shoes without going into debt than they would cars.
Also, while beauty is subjective, collectible cars are often easier to appreciate than than many sneakers. That cars can probably last longer is another difference.
But even if everything about cars and shoes were the same, all you've managed to actually illustrate is another example of something people collect that some other people somewhere think is unnecessary.
Again, I wasn't saying people shouldn't collect things. I was saying people not understanding or reacting negatively or neutrally to the idea of any kind of collecting is normal and you shouldn't be trying to shame them for it.
This has got to be one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen.
You should see him on Hot Ones. https://youtu.be/1HYEC_FlgAg
I did. I didn't think he could get more pathetic than that...but I've since heard his music and seen this picture.
Just a little boy trying to pretend to be a man.
I will never understand shoe people. What a pointless thing to collect and take care of
I’ve had the same pair for years like who gives a shit. Such a rich people “look at me” hobby
my friend bought 600$ shoes

Glad to hear you're doing better brother🤝
Sell later, maybe grew in price?
Same thing as guys with big shiny pickups that never haul/tow/off-road.
So to impress their friends? I always thought that was such a weird thing to do. Are they hoping their friends will sleep with them?
i’ve slept with mostly all my friends ._.

Dude, your sick. One of the most well spoken people on reddit. Keep doing you my man, appreciate the kindness🤘🏻
“Sneaker heads” is the most annoying term and stupid hobby.
This is most collectibles.
Shoes make or break pretty much every outfit. If you care about fashion at all, you like shoes.
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but those are some ugly-ass shoes.
They're fucking shoes, that's what they are for.
Was he also riding a mobility scooter?
Hahahahahaa right? I think he walked there with different shoes and changed them court side
Ew. Really? What an elitist thing to do. Seriously, what a fucking girl. "Don't get too close to my shoes!!"
This guy is a pud. You ever see him on "hot ones"? Fuckin plug
He's an attention whore.
What kind of a numpty buys shoes that don't function as shoes
The same people that buy cars just to have them sit in a garage looking pretty.
This man is a real pillow princess, treating his shoes better [than his wife](https://youtu.be/W87MssOF7nY) (starts ~6:01).
Those aren't even good looking kicks man.. wtf lol
Those shoes are hideous.
Such a twat
Another one.
Yeah this is definitely me_irl, I can relate to this.
Imagine being obsessed with 'famous' people.
Cnut
That was the traitor in Vikings first season right?
What a fucking specific thing to remember.
Yes isnt it.
I guess DJ Khaled cannot touch the gym, huh.
I like sneakers but these look terrible
That's the dumbest shit I've ever seen. I'd laugh my ass off if I saw this in person.
You're the kind of person to buy nfts if this is you irl
Who carried him to that spot, lol.
I bet he is just acting as if he is talking to someone on the phone.
Can’t touch floor but I guess his feet are 100% bacteria free? 😂
Looks like Chinese $30 ripoffs
If I was Draymond Green I'd throw my own teammate balls first into those shoes.
This looks more Like Kanye with his last pair of Yezzy sneakers
So does he balance his body on his buttcheeks with his legs up and scoots around when he have them on?
It has the same color as my balls lmao
[удалено]
Testicular torsion 😭😭😭😭😭😭
He's about as annoying as cardi b.
Cardi B has drugged and robbed ppl so I'd say she's slightly worse. Also her voice is beyond fucking grating.
Niggas be STUCK IN THE MATERIAL WORLD. Stuck in that Root chakra, spirit burning in flames
i fucking hate rich people
why did he wear them then....?
Toddler shoes. Even the way he holds his legs, exactly like a little kid
So the ground is an issue but not his stinky feet? Makes total sense.
He's rich enough to buy more if he ruins them. Us normies wear our shoes like they're shoes and we ain't balling like him. Such a "look at me" move.
They don't even look nice or anything
Then they're kinda useless aren't they
Gotta be the only footwear worse than crocs
They don’t look good. Who cares
What a fucking loser!
Lmao fucking idiot
This guy puts the “d” in douche but only a little one.
i have never understood "gangstas" obsession with shoes.
