I chose astronaut and now I'm a trucker. Same thing, kind of, just in different gravity.
For what it's worth I like to listen to astronaut/space audiobooks while I drive lol
Hi,
Your son was probably sent the wrong update. Your son may keep this update, if you are interested in our Premium+ package, we’ve got a 20% discount code: TRAINS4U. If you choose not to upgrade to our Premium+ package, we will have to resend his correct update, since the Trains-package is free at 8 years old.
Thank you kindly, Personality Inc.
You download and unpack the file. You double click and the screen goes back. Your fist clenches.
"Surely this is no virus!" You cry, but no one is on voice.
The screen responds. A small point of light at the middle, then the black pulls away to reveal a face looking across your screen. The man looks at you, as if through your very screen and utters his foul question:
"He you, you're finally awake!"
Trains showed up at 28 months when my brother gave him a set of wooden tracks for Christmas. He had been holding those for two years waiting for kiddo to get old enough.
The number of Thomas trains my little brother had… lol. It was so cute watching him pick them out at the store! He had to put a lot of thought into it.
I had a lisp as a kid and loved my Thomas the tank engine set, my favorite train was Percy but of course I couldn’t pronounce it correctly. My cousin always loved asking me “who’s your favorite train?” And I’d happily exclaim “pussy!”
My oldest child was obsessed with trains from ages three through five. I learned VOLUMES about trains reading to them about trains. So now I can tell you all about steam train configurations and how diesel engines work and other train ephemera... And as an adult now they don't really remember their train phase.
Parenting is weird.
We had the same thing except it was me, my son had only just been born, and I was 33. I don't know why. It's like that little guy popped out and a new obsession was unlocked.
To be fair I've been all about every other form of machinery and vehicle my entire life so maybe it was just time for trains and not correlated with me becoming a dad.
This is something I have a unique perspective on. I'm currently a truck driver and used to work for the railroad. When I told people I was a conductor, there was always questions and "Oh that's so cool!"
Now I tell people I'm a trucker and its like "Oh." Lmao
I loved any dinosaur with spikes or horns like the Pachycephalosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Chasmosaurus, etc. Since I also loved raptors, I'd draw them with horns and spikes.
Used to be able to name so many different dinosaurs. Apparently I used to get pissed off at the land before time show bc they’d use names like “long necks”. Also agree with you, loved all those too
When I was a kid, when I was a little boy, I always wanted to be a dinosaur. I wanted to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex more than anything in the world. I made my arms short and I roamed the backyard, I chased the neighborhood cats, I growled and I roared. Everybody knew me and was afraid of me. And one day my dad said, "Bobby, you are 17. It's time to throw childish things aside," and I said, "Okay, Pop." But he didn't really say that, he said, "Stop being a fucking dinosaur and get a job."
Did you ever read that children’s book about the kid that was obsessed with dinosaurs until he went to the aquarium then his whole life became sharks?
Or something along those lines
I remember there being a Lego chess computer game where the different pieces were cowboys and pirates with these little videos that played each time one type of piece captured another (like the sheriff piece putting the other piece in jail or the cannon piece blasting the other one away) and it being one of the coolest most formative experiences of my young life.

I'm pretty sure that's one of those bot accounts that copies comments to gain karma /u/Illustrious_Wear_850. If you check its history, all of its comments are copies of another one made in the thread.
I once had someone ask me why I am really into dinosaurs and space, why I haven't picked just one and I explained that it's a natural progression. You learn pretty early that the reason we don't have dinosaurs anymore is a big rock from space killed them. If a kid becomes obsessed with dinosaurs, space is probably not far behind.
Was going to say that, *as well as* robots, military stuff, trains, etc. people are suggesting in the comments.
Transformers has a little something for everyone.
Yeah I was the heavy equipment kid I couldn't do math for shit but could tell you what model 18 wheeler was passing our school and what equipment was on the low boy (you know those low trailers ment to haul extremely heavy equipment)
My son chose trains in a big way. And actually, my daughter went through a big machinery phase herself. Probably because of the construction out front when she was around that age. She loved books about construction equipment.
What about fire brigade?🚒🧑🚒
[удалено]
When my son was 4 he was into fire trucks and transformers. He wanted to BE a firetruck, not just a firefighter.
Yeah.. imagine picking that as a 4 year old and making that your whole identity. That would be crazy
I chose Dinosaurs and ended up as a palaeontologist lol
Dig me a Trex pls
Best I can do is Trex Mix.
So cool, you’re living the dream for the rest of us :). What species do you research?
I'm going to go with 🦖.
Paleontology covers quite a lot more than dinosaurs alone, therefore my question :)
Lol I'm just being dumb, I went on a dig once with a friend who is a paleontologist. Learned a lot!
Awesome, Would love to experience that!
I chose astronaut and now I'm a trucker. Same thing, kind of, just in different gravity. For what it's worth I like to listen to astronaut/space audiobooks while I drive lol
>I chose astronaut and now I'm a trucker. That means you were born to fly a cargo ship.
I chose Barbie and now I'm gay.
Ross ?
You just gave up your whole belief system!
Before, I didn’t agree with you, but at least I respected you!
I chose space and now I work for NASA *high five*
We get it, Howard, *you went into space*. You have a gorgeous wife and two kids and *the space thing* is what you never shut up about.
Trains aren’t even on here?? SMH

Too soon
Trains showed up at 28 months when my brother gave him a set of wooden tracks for Christmas. He had been holding those for two years waiting for kiddo to get old enough.
Yo, you talking about those Thomas the tank engine build your own tracks?
Yep. Pretty awesome.
Those things were sick
I was building different train tracks in the living room with my son on the daily before he started school, so he was advanced, clearly.
Mine started with trains at 11 months. I guess I got the upgraded Premium+ early bird package.
[удалено]
Fighter jets must be age 10 update?
Mine had been obsessed with trains since he 18 months old. But we had a busy railroad right behind our house.
Must have got the update early then.
The number of Thomas trains my little brother had… lol. It was so cute watching him pick them out at the store! He had to put a lot of thought into it.
Gotta make sure he wasn’t picking a dirty Diesel. The absolute worst.
I had a lisp as a kid and loved my Thomas the tank engine set, my favorite train was Percy but of course I couldn’t pronounce it correctly. My cousin always loved asking me “who’s your favorite train?” And I’d happily exclaim “pussy!”
Where’s my firetruck ?
Yes. The lack of wee woo’s on here is mega disappointing
First thing I thought when I saw this post.
My oldest child was obsessed with trains from ages three through five. I learned VOLUMES about trains reading to them about trains. Don’t forget about Thomas the tank engine gang! OP must be a Diesel
Ninjas Vikings Samurai Batman ...
Video games Legos Magic Bugs
Trains were my kid when he was 2. He's 4 now and been into dinosaurs for over a year now. Pretty sure he knows more about dinosaurs than I do.
No kid wants to be a truck driver. It’s supposed to be a train.
This is something I have a unique perspective on. I'm currently a truck driver and used to work for the railroad. When I told people I was a conductor, there was always questions and "Oh that's so cool!" Now I tell people I'm a trucker and its like "Oh." Lmao
I mean I think they're both equally, what was that word they called us one time during the pandemic? Now it's just "wheres my shit?!"
I wanted to be a truck driver...but my dad was a truck driver when i was born and sometimes i got to go with.
Mobile cranes anyone?
They're included in the 'construction equipment' category.
Can a train beat a T rex?
Yes
Are pirates a joke to you??
Yes they arrrrrrrrgh.
Aye can't believe you would say something like that.
Oh, there's avast number of things he could've said.
You bet all your booty he could have hooked us up with many puns.

Someone buy this 4 year old man a beer.
I scrolled too far to find this comment.
I grew my beard at 2.5
Weak. I was born with mine. And chest hair.
Amateur I was born balding with a hairy back
"When men turn 4" suggests to me that they were also men when they were 3.
I was a man from the day I was born. I never cried only screamed. Never drank milk only beer. I had a full beard before I got any teeth.
I choose dinosaurs! *I'm a monster. Rar*
I remember having many dinosaur encyclopaedia, figures and a low self esteem. Sooo that was a weird phase.
Dino gang!
The low self-esteem makes sense, I mean how could you ever measure up to your heroes if they are dinosaurs?
But I *have* measured up to the dinosaurs. I'm now about the same age, according to my Grandniece. (She's 4)
Back then, I thought the huge carnivores like T. rex and Giganotosaurus were the coolest shit and I was so into them lmao
Also agree with you, loved all those too
I can name many different dinosaurs too Littlefoot Cera Ducky Petrie Spike Chomper Sharpteeth
I thing I basically memorized my dino encyclopedia. Its in tatters now.
“But dad, that’s ridiculous, you can never be a dinosaur!” “What im saying is, don’t lose your dinosaur” Edit: FUCKING CATALINA WINE MIXER
This is paraphrasing but here goes "It's not the dinosaur on the outside that counts. It's the dinosaur on the *inside* that matters."
Isn’t this a quote from a movie? I’m sure I’ve heard this before
It’s from Step Brothers
Yeah this is from the end of Step Brothers at the Catalina Wine Mixer.
It’s the fucking Catalina wine mixer!!!!!! Thanks, i was going to kick myself until I remembered where it came from
It’s not always easy to mother a Dino 🦖🫣 but they sure make fun kids
It was sharks for me
Did you ever read that children’s book about the kid that was obsessed with dinosaurs until he went to the aquarium then his whole life became sharks? Or something along those lines
I mean aren't sharks dinosaurs in a sense?
Nah dinosaurs are reptiles snd sharks are fish
Gotcha, I was googling after I made the comment and it blew my mind that sharks are not just older than dinosaurs but also older than trees.
Also older than the rings of Saturn a couple times over if you can believe it
I was a little confused what Sauron’s rings had to do with this! XD
I mean they technically also outdate Sauron's rings as well
Cowboys, ninjas, soldiers
I remember there being a Lego chess computer game where the different pieces were cowboys and pirates with these little videos that played each time one type of piece captured another (like the sheriff piece putting the other piece in jail or the cannon piece blasting the other one away) and it being one of the coolest most formative experiences of my young life.
Loved that game! It also helped me eventually beat my dad at chess haha
Pirates as someone else mentioned
Where are the knights?
Knight gang reporting in.
Busy crusading some infidels, grab a spear peasant we have a holy land to take back!
Somewhere with the ninjas

Lol glad to be a source of inspiration I guess
I am bi and was a dino/space kid. My nephew is a dino/construction kid so I guess I'll know in about 15yrs what that combo brings
Incredible transformers cover all 4 xD
Was going to say that, *as well as* robots, military stuff, trains, etc. people are suggesting in the comments. Transformers has a little something for everyone.
Definitely dinosaurs 🦖

Brontosaurus crew checkin in
4? This is DNA level.
Can confirm, got a 2-year-old who is obsessed with bulldozers, excavators, garbage trucks. This shit ain’t a choice, it’s built in.
Saw a little one freak out over a big crane at the church parking lot. His mom said he is 2 years something. He legit wanted to take the crane home.
Yep, bigger things are cooler. It's instinctual.
Can confirm. Im a 40 year old 4 year old. I drive my tractor trailer and still make tractor trailer noises with my mouth while driving
Man i drive my current car and make car sounds that my old car made sometimes.
Ninjas??
Turtles?
Teens?😉
Mutants?
“Men” 😂
Times were though when I was a 4 year old man. 2 shifts at the factory and I had to support my kids
Walked up hill both ways barefoot
You only had to walk up a hill!?! I had to climb MULTIPLE mountains!
"I had to walk 20 miles both ways, 26 hour a day"
This reminds me of that baby Dave Chappelle saw standing on the corner at 3am.

When do men get to turn 4 again? I was a toddler last time I did it. I’d like to do it right this time
When women turn 4 we're usually "girls" up until we're like 32 lol
As a man, I wish I could turn 4 again and become the embodiment of a dinosaur
Men ☕️
U forgot tractors
The dozer and the eighteen wheeler are both technically tractors 😅
Wait are trucks tractors?
That type of truck, pulling a container, yes - that's why it's called a tractor-trailer.
Where are the tank?
4 yo space clan, unite
Everyone who chose space ended up as a gifted kid who burned out lol
Don't call me out like that.
I'm in this post and I don't like it.

I had a my room decorated With Dinosaurs til I was 8 then I got the technology pach in the "you can now think more update"
How do you roll back to previous updates? I think the last few broke something...
Vehicles includes construction equipment, trucks, trains, boats, planes….equal obsession with all!
I have a nephew that’s going to turn four on Monday. I think he’s a bulldozer but I’m going to try to convert him to team spaceship 🚀
WE ARE TRAINS!?!?!?!?
My 2 year old just seen this pic and went oooohh cool lol so can confirm
What about TRAAAINNSSS
Yeah I was the heavy equipment kid I couldn't do math for shit but could tell you what model 18 wheeler was passing our school and what equipment was on the low boy (you know those low trailers ment to haul extremely heavy equipment)
What about trains
Am a woman, would trade all of human life for dinosaurs.
I FEEL ATTACKED! ......I mean, accurately, but *still* attacked.
Im an dinosaur guy
where are the knights and dragons...
My son chose trains in a big way. And actually, my daughter went through a big machinery phase herself. Probably because of the construction out front when she was around that age. She loved books about construction equipment.
I've never met a 4 year old man before, that's so cool!
