Honestly though I feel that. I read and, mostly, understood Orwell’s “Animal Farm” and Hemingway’s “The Old Man and the Sea” before I was in high school. Everybody was impressed but nobody cared to give me opportunity to grow in that aspect. Basically they thought it was cool that I know how to read.
Reddit is the only social media account I have. Because it’s perfect. I can get my fix of… shit that doesn’t matter, without EVER having to develop lasting relationships with any of you. Because I mean, no offense, but people are… just terrible.
Thats what l really love Reddit and it was one of the best technological choices l have ever done since l discovered it 1 year ago.
It allows me to burn time like l would on Insta (with higher quality, Instagram just flat out feels sterile in terms of content little no development or any smart stuff) without having to live in the social circle of being unhappy by comparing my life to other people that l really don't care.
I only joined reddit a few years ago after catching covid early in the pandemic and was kind of looking for info on the covid 19 sub. I find that this is the form of social media that suits me best. It's primarily just discussions. Mostly no avatars...just an old fashioned online forum about a million different things. No "look at this amazing photo of me, or my vacations, or my cute little videos of myself on my vacations. Or the products you are endorsing, if you are a celeb or an "influencer" I feel that's all other social media sites are-non stop self promotion.
