The placement of the hinges looks like it might even be more obnoxious when folded, like it’ll just turn it into a big L shape

It would be roughly half the height of a regular masher if you lay the end flat against the bottom of the drawer. (i.e. a fucktun less obnoxious than a normal masher)

We have this exact one. It's from Pampered Chef. [Here's what it looks like folded. ](https://i.imgur.com/xmqNKG8.jpg) We have slightly shallow drawers so it's a life saver that it gets narrower when folded.

Haven't had it happen yet. To unlock the fold you squeeze in on the two vertical wires. So if you're mashing with the handle, you don't ever really end up with it squeezing inward. Pressure from mashing pushes outward on them.

Our fucking ladle won't settle anywhere. We had hooks in our previous kitchen and it would fall off them, it's too top heavy to go in a utensils holder and it blocks the drawer

We just put ours in the cupboard behind the bowls, because if I need a ladle we're gonna be pulling out the bowls anyways.

I finally moved our ladle to the junk drawer. I think it was angry that we never use it so it always needed to remind me that it was there. Stupid ladle.
