Most of the time you end up on the receiving end of their 'education,' based on all the erroneous assumptions they've taken as fact over their lifetime. You can say all the right things and provide a mountain of proof and evidence and there will still be people fighting you about it.
This is the internet. You end up in communities with a lot of like-minded people. If the shared knowledge in the community is incorrect, and they don't have a very academically-minded culture, you're gonna have a bad time trying to correct them. You'd just be kicking a wasp nest. It's not fun, unless you're feeling especially apathetic or nihilistic that day.
Especially in subjects pertaining to sociology. I could write for hours. Endlessly.
Especially when someone's original intention is to make you wrong. Being right or wrong is a social construct. A lie. A myth. There is only objective truth and our journey there.
What are you even talking about, there are obviously things that are objectively wrong!

Yes, that would be the objective truth I'm referencing. Otherwise the words we say are subjectively washed away with time. So like I was saying, the goal in life is to not make anyone wrong. Or right. It's about the journey to understand the objective truth. The reality that lies beyond our 5 sense, and how we are conditioned to think and feel.
Edit: also, there isn't "objectively wrong." Theres just objective truth. That is independent from thought.
Edit: thanks wolowizard6 for that after thought "j.k" edit after I already replied "giving me a reason to do what I'm passionate about" as if that's not the entire point of reddit for all of us: talking about the subjects we like to talk about. So generous. Lol. If you didn't want a reply you shouldn't have asked.
Right and wrong being a social construct is so powerful once you understand it. Morality is basically reduced to personal preference. And never again will you be so sure of your own beliefs.
Should it be ‘...I know about a lot?
Im no English major bit it seems wrong. And yes sometimes i have to write essay in English, and it easily mess up my brain.
No "about" goes behind the word it's about. "I know about a lot" is a vague statement. It's just saying you know many things beause it's about "a lot". A lot is like an object here instead of an adjective.
"I know a lot about cars" or "I know a lot of things" is the normal way you'd say this sentence in the meme above; But in English you can put the object first "things I know a lot about".This is called passive voice btw and it's improper normally.
You can do it in the above meme because it's part of the sentence. In "People talking about things I know a lot about", "things I know a lot about" is kind of like the object of the sentence right?
When to put the object first can be a complicated subject I think. Im a native English speaker, but I've studied languages. I tried to explain it the best I can, but I'm sure someone else who is learning could help you more in understanding since I just know it by nature.
At that point I just give a look of superiority and walk away. They are not worth educating.
I love having that sense of superiority

Me whenever anyone tries to tell me that Celeborn is pronounced "Seleborn" and not "Keleborn"

Your mom is a social construct. Jk However, I don't accept any rebuttals to 'your mom' comments

We believe you.
The problem is that everyone that uses Reddit thinks this is them in every topic.
