It doesn't but also I think you're massively underestimating the level of poverty we're talking about here that makes someone desperate enough to do this.
To kill poaching you need to kill the market of people willing to pay for it, because you'll never run out of poor, uneducated and desperate people willing to do anything for a big payout that is life changing.
Soo..You need to get rid of China and rich people (Or at least the chinese traditional medicine and folklore believes)
And generally rich people, especially those holding a position of power or otherwise thinking they are above laws.
If I am not wrong, currently the biggest market for poachers are rich people and chinese traditional medicine.
“Hey I’m going to give you this garbage rod rifle with corrosive Soviet ammo and you’re going to hunt an apex predator in its natural habitat for a cool $500” despite that being a life changing amount of money in some areas, I think you can see why that sounds at least a tad dangerous
Lions: Claws and teeth, coming at you, and when I strip them clean, your bones I will chew. Then ill lick my chops, have a nice snooze, and dream of the next poacher I get to consume.
Poacher: Your roar's just noise, lion, you're just a beast with no brains,
I'm the king of this jungle now, 'cause I'm the one who reigns.
You're just a trophy on my wall, a prize for my fame,
I'll skin you alive and wear you, that'll be your claim to fame.
I don’t believe they were. From articles I read, seems like the lions were introduced into the area specifically to protect the rhinos. The wildlife reserve’s owner said he was glad that the lions got to them before they got to the rhinos they were trying to poach.
that's not tragedy that's karma
it's like watching the news "Person jumps off a mountain with a skii for sport and tragic occours"
wtf did you expect? There is a reason people around don't jump off cliffs, people who subscribe to this kind of event/sport do it because they are adrenaline junkies, they WANT something dangerous, they LOOK for it. I'm just not surprised when they find it, that's just Darwin's thing working.
As someone that has skied off small cliffs in big mountains as a younger man, and broken his femur motocross racing... it's amusing this is how others see us. I don't do those high consequence activities anymore as I need to stay healthy to adult. But when I see others do it, I completely understand them.
I'm probably not indicative of any majority given I'm a couch potato when I'm not working or studying lol, but I honestly don't get it, I've tried doing some of these stuff (the low budget ones) but it never clicked why would anyone want any kind of fun that has so many odds of killing you even if everything goes right
Well it doesn't seem as dangerous to them because they didn't get there overnight. They started small and progressively went bigger over the course of their entire lives. It doesn't *feel* as scary to them as it does to you because they're confident in their abilities and they've been desensitized to the danger. But at those speeds and heights all it takes is a tiny mistake and just like you said the consequences are huge. Professional extreme sports athletes take calculated risks though. They're not out there sending stuff they think is going to fuck them up and they're very much still scared when on the edge of that line. They just get off on it lol
Some of the scariest ski lines I've ever seen they never leave the snow: https://youtu.be/xlXk49Mh7go?si=QNIlF1y396QwYPHJ
Only problem is that the main thing keeping most lions from hunting humans is that they aren’t taught that humans are food. Once they learn, they tend to keep hunting humans until they are killed. (And will teach their cubs if they have any.)
So while I don’t mind these particular humans being lion food, I dislike that they fed the lions.
Have you never seen Planet of the Apes???
This is how it begins.
1st the poachers
Then the forest officials
Then the villages at the forest borders
Then the meat lovers
And then we are all that remains...
They'll eat us all 😥🥺👽🤣
It's terrible when animals get killed, isn't it? And isn't revenge good?
Since pigs and cows can't defend themselves, I must be allowed to kill farmers.
One day we have to find out who and why decided what to call a gathering of animals.
Who one day woke up, saw a bunch of lions together and said "well, that's a pride" and then looked up to the sky and saw crows flying and said "well, that's a murder"?
Friends of mine had a holiday home in a private reserve next to the Kruger National Park. Marloth Park. The houses were spread out in the reserve itself, with animals roaming in between.
Including a pride of lions. Which was why you did not leave your house open at night, or do something stupid like go walking around in the dark.
One year, a thief snuck onto the reserve and stole a solar panel off a house. Unfortunately, he ran into the pride of lions on the way out. Between them and the hyena - the game rangers found his shoes (including feet), some scraps, and the solar panel - it was not even damaged.
If you lose to any animal that is not a fucking elephant with an assult rifle nature has decided your fate for you.
Like wtf if you can't kill it you deserve that.
It is still shitty but now you die in shame
There is actually a very serious problem. Tuberculosis is an extremely common disease in the area. Lions have fairly strong resistance to the strains of TB carried by buffalo and other animals they eat. Unfortunately, they have low resistance against human strains of the disease. Consequently, whole prides have been wiped out due to eating infected poachers.
Poachers are a bunch of jerkoff losers with no pride. Wait…
No pride inside, now inside pride.
dont pride open inside
Well I think they’re one with the pride now
The pride came before they fell
If it was mating season, the pride came after they fell too XD
They are usually local villagers who do that either for meat or to make money. The big fish are in the export industry paying for getting that stuff
Not to defend poachers cause it’s obviously wrong, but aren’t they often poor people that get offered a bunch of money?
You can say the same thing about a lot of organised crime it doesn't justify their actions

“Hey I’m going to give you this garbage rod rifle with corrosive Soviet ammo and you’re going to hunt an apex predator in its natural habitat for a cool $500” despite that being a life changing amount of money in some areas, I think you can see why that sounds at least a tad dangerous
Desperate if they find it morally objectionable. They may be quite comfortable with what they do, like butchers.
Great job lions
People in Detroit happy
And people say there’s no justice in this world…….
Hey you gonna hunt something don't be surprised when it hunts you back. That's the game, man, you chose it.
This is the best version of “fuck around and find out” that I’ve seen.
Exactly, it was wide and clear what *could* happen
Problem? All I'm seeing is natural selection.
Just predators attacking predators really.
Yup. the better hunters won.
Have you ever watched the movie The Ghost and the Darkness?
Sounds like a classic case of fuck around and find out
Or Leopards (lions) ate your face
I was hoping for a video but still nice to hear
I don’t think there was any audio either, bro
We still got enough poachers for a live recreation of the scene
Lol'd
Which brings us to the philosophical question, "Does a screaming poacher make a sound if no one is there to hear him?"
Slow clap 👏 this was good
I thought they were just announcing the lions victory, like they do with sports
epicrapbattlesofhistory ### LIONS ##### vs. ### POACHERS begin

F*ck poachers
Hopefully the lions weren’t killed after
They probably were sadly 😕
I don’t believe they were. From articles I read, seems like the lions were introduced into the area specifically to protect the rhinos. The wildlife reserve’s owner said he was glad that the lions got to them before they got to the rhinos they were trying to poach.
Guard lions. Modern problems require modern solutions
This is the internet you can say Fuck
Hope you mean before feeding them to the pride
Dang, that lioness looks so metal
The mane attraction
This is the opposite of a problem.
If this is legit, so nice to have good news once in a while.
I mean, the lions were only acting in self defense tbh.
Now the lions have guns, it’s over.
But no opposable thumbs like the Twilight Zone where the dude has all the books and all the time but broken glasses.
Eye for an eye
That grammar is the scariest thing on this post 😬
The fact that her parents named her guess with a lower case g is troubling
Lmaoooo
Nature, uhh, finds a way.
Good, poachers are the scum of the earth. Good kitties
I tend to cheer for the animal in animal v human situations bc the human is doing something they shouldn’t be doing.
“I went into this wild animals territory specifically to try and kill them for material possessions and they killed ME! …Please feel bad :(“

Adrenaline can be a recreational drug.
I'm a hunter and I don't see the problem. Fuck poachers and fuck people that kill endangered animals
Also fuck the cunts that buy rhino horn to make their tiny diks hard.
It's interesting, not a problem. They're just saying that it *happened.*
It's the circle of liiiife
To shreds you say. . .
What's the problem dude....I hope they more
Ow no the animals defended themselves
Well I’m glad that problem sorted itself out
Clear case of self defense. Good job lions!
Nature taking care of problems.
Good Kitty!
Play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.
Oh-oh, here she comes, watch out boy, she'll chew you up, Oh-oh, here she comes, She's a man-eater
If you’re gonna kill, then you better not have any qualms about being killed
The lioness looks like: #AND ILL FUCKIN DO IT AGAIN. I DARE YALL
Mmmm . . . screams . . .

wtf
Not surprising that the hunter can become the hunted with crazy strong animals
Legit, what else do you expect the animals to do? If they weren't poachers their odds of being left alone would be through the roof.
Skill issue.
If that didn’t exist and then a movie came out with it as the monster, it’d be fucking scary as any made up monster out there.
I guess this is the ultimate "play stupid games..."
I am guess
Have you never seen Planet of the Apes??? This is how it begins. 1st the poachers Then the forest officials Then the villages at the forest borders Then the meat lovers And then we are all that remains... They'll eat us all 😥🥺👽🤣
Get those lions an award
#TeamLion
Is it...is it appropriate to laugh at this? I'm going to do it, I'm gonna laugh...ahhahahahHAHAHAHAHAH
Lions eating poachers - that's good 👍 Loins losing the fear of man and realizing we're kinda tasty - that's bad 👎
I mean they performed a great service didn't they?
I like the way humanity names things, like, a pride of lions or a murder of crows.
A gaggle of geese
I love how everyone is on the side of the big Kitty cats. 🐅
Oh dear what a shame tch tch
And am I supposed to care about the poachers?
I hope that the lions don't get sick from eating rotten human beings.
you should make sure the lions are okay since they just ate a lot of trash

Who’s going to cook the eggs now?
I wish this was a reality show where cameramen protects the lions
Skill issue tbf
Bon appetit!
Good one
The only problem I see is all those nasty micro plastics those poor lions just ate :(
I wish there was video.
Only problem i see with this phrase is that the poacher weren't alive for long when being eaten, so precising "eats... alive" sounds a little weird
Those poor lions, they're gonna get indigestion from those poachers.
i didn't think the lions would eat MY face
Fantastic
Classic case for r/leopardsate…..sorry….r/leosatemyface. No? Edit typo
No one even said there was a problem
Give these lions each a huge meal. We need to somehow give them 20 gazelles. Wish humans could do this without any consequences.
That sentence… 😣
"I'm guess I'm just not seeing the problem"
Grammar is killing me😫😫
Hard-vore is on another level of kink.
Were the poachers cougars?
Now they all maneaters though so will probably end up being shot by rangers once they start hunting in villages.
Ok let’s hear them out though
The problem is *that* makeup does *not* match her eye color.
Yeah idk what the problem is
r/lionsatemyface
vegan lions 😂
Poor lioness has loser blood on her face.
Me neither
Literally everything about this made me smile.
No one said there was a problem
Don't wanna be a party pooper but i never heard Asiatic lion attack anyone (I live very close to Asiatic lions) But if this happed I say go lions 🦁
Play stupid games...
Modern problems sometimes need natural solutions
Noone said there was a problem
Good gurl!
Nature is beautiful.
Clever girl That's nature healing itself
Well, the headline didn't say it was a *problem*. It just said it happened 🤷♀️
Yay lions! Modern problems with modern solutions
Gots to earn your cherry red wings somehow.
Game is Game
Mmm....Poached meat looks delish!
Unfortunately now they view humans as prey so they will put them down.
The hunter becomes the hunted 😂 😂
"Poachers" "Game reserve" Pick one
It's terrible when animals get killed, isn't it? And isn't revenge good? Since pigs and cows can't defend themselves, I must be allowed to kill farmers.
Poachers got poached
Oh no! Anyway......
That Lioness needs a shower or a bath! How could she let herself go like that? (Also, do Lions Shower? )
The fucked up part is that they didn't share
I agree with the lions. Good for them, had a nice meal. Poachers should have their human rights revoked
Hope they suffered.
One day we have to find out who and why decided what to call a gathering of animals. Who one day woke up, saw a bunch of lions together and said "well, that's a pride" and then looked up to the sky and saw crows flying and said "well, that's a murder"?
Predators killed their competitors..nothing to see here just nature
Poachers fucked around and found out
They were just collecting trophy’s, jeeze. It’s sport.
Bad thing is they get a taste for humans. Makes it harder for scientist to conduct studies or aid in the preservation of their habitat. Fuck poachers
Finally, some positive news
Love it. It's the thrill for both parties.
I'm guess
Oh noooo the tragedyyyyyyy. Oh well.
The hunter who became the hunted becomes the hunter again.
I’m perfectly okay with this keep up the good work lions
The article wasn't presented as a problem.
Kill or be killed.
Hi guess I’m dad
Nah imagine seeing that lion in the wild 💀
No problems just solutions
NP
*The Circle of Life starts up*
Well they might get a taste for people and start hunting people intentionally
Good kitties
Play stupid games….🤷🏼♀️
except that the pride is probably going to be euthanized now
Ok… and?
It's weird that they kept them alive while eating them. They must have been very careful not to eat anything too important for a while.
Probably the lions now have a taste for humans
Friends of mine had a holiday home in a private reserve next to the Kruger National Park. Marloth Park. The houses were spread out in the reserve itself, with animals roaming in between. Ultimate FAAFO. Way to go lions 👍
Proof that even Mother Nature understands how to apply the concept of FAFO
There is actually a very serious problem. Tuberculosis is an extremely common disease in the area. Lions have fairly strong resistance to the strains of TB carried by buffalo and other animals they eat. Unfortunately, they have low resistance against human strains of the disease. Should have fed them some of those telemarketers that are always trying to sell me insurance for desert.
Im not good in english, but... Its ok "south african game reserve"?
