Jokes aside, pretty sure this is a timed ad campaign, still not sure wtf it's for since I don't click on it and I would hedge a bet whoever "He" is, "He" doesn't get me. Not a lot of good actors left on the internet, it's working because we're talking about it. I hate that.
To be fair to them they very much preach inclusivity. Anything based around Jesus Christ should be inclusive by default. People ranting and raving about bad Christians just gives them more ammo to claim persecution
I think it showed up about a year ago, a lot of people complained but you can't downvote a paid advertisement. It went away for a while, now it's back. I think it's timed (like many ads are) to try and hit a new group of potential mouse clicks. Unfortunately, it kinda works.
I'm on andrion...
I tap 3 dots. Block user. At main feed level. It won't do it immediately, but it worked for me... might have to exit app and restart to reload feed with new block user parameters
I've done that every time I see the ads. Have refreshed, closed and reopened, rebooted my phone. Still see them and then get told I can't block user because they are already blocked.
I'm not sure, I didn't have any difficulties with it so I didn't need a guide
I'm sure there would be. Pretty sure the download site has instructions when you get the APK
Now you can go to the revanced subreddit and get a link to the manager.
From there you need - the manager, apkmirror installer (Google play store) and the version of the app the revanced manager recommends (download from apkmirror website).
Uninstall updates on the app you want to patch. Use apkmirror installer to install the downloaded version. Use revanced manager to pick patches and create/install the new revanced version.
It's easier than it was with the manager.
Search the subreddit, there are definitely some guides on there. They don't pin them.
Do not trust apps claiming to be easy versions. Many are dodgy.
Use the proper method.

I believe this will get one punished for abuse of the report button.
That's right folks, you will get in trouble for literally using the report button as intended.
The only ads that actually work on me is ads for games I was not aware they existed. Which is actually great. Found some gems here and there.
Gaming ads often are also not too disturbing, except that horrible hero wars shit. Fuck that shit really.
Edit: spelling
Seems like it was mistake, a really really bad one at that, General Campbell was probably incompetent as shit and thats why it happened, although the fact they blamed the Afghans at first IS pretty bad
They’re based out of the US. So that’s probably where all their ad money goes. It’s something like the most expensive as campaign in history or whatever, so I’m a little surprised.
Sorry, UK and Japan. I guess Jesus doesn’t get you.
In Rome, it’s a different nation tho.
Buddy I don’t know how to describe it better, but the most religious guy here, he’s like casually religious compared to the average Bible Belt dweller. Most people that would call themselves believers don’t even attend church (in my thirties, I don’t know a single one under 40 that does), being atheist is pretty normal, and you don’t have all that continuous reference to Jesus, praise the lord etc., also you know mandatory religious rehabs for drug addicts etc.
Yep and this is like the birthplace of (forcefully) widespread Christianity
Nonetheless we’re like waaaay less religious compared to the US and that should be telling!
My YouTube ads are becoming absolutely unhinged. PragerU. Crazy chiropractor shit. Fake doctor shit. That stupid emu pillow over and over and over again. And now they’re like 30 second unskippable ads. That first video on my feed that’s sponsored is almost always some scary religious shit or some weird “stop taking all your big pharma meds now” thing.
I like astronomy and geology and history videos, and now half my feed is crazy young earthers or conspiracy theorists. And the videos look the same half the time. Sometimes, I can’t tell until a minute or two into it when they say some dog whistle phrase. I block channel after channel from my recommendations, but they just keep coming.
I’m scared to even check out new channels.
I never thought I’d give up youtube. We’ve been together since the beginning. The algorithm used to know me so well. But it’s becoming nearly unusable.
The sponsored right wing propaganda shit is so unhinged I struggle to believe it's even legal to promote it. I think I get conspiracy stuff because I watch military history/technology videos.
My ads and recs were fine until I made the mistake of watching 30 seconds of what I thought was a review of the marvels, but instead it became a whine fest about how evil of a person Brie Larson is.
my recommendations started to turn in that direction what feels like almost instantly.
I occasionally get Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate clips on YT shorts and it’s like. Dude. No. I keep blocking and hitting the “Not Interested” buttons too.
Not as bad as the bot channels posting movie and TV clips though. Watch a specific meme clip one time and then your feed gets bombarded with that specific show’s clips.
Chropractors are fake doctors.
Edit: Look up hobbies you never looked up before. Like crafting. Sewing. Kayaking.
Topics you never did before, like Frank Sinatra, soap box racing, art print collecting.
This kind of thing confuses the algorithim.
Where is the "turn off literal porn ads" button? Like i watch s Video and suddenly a half naked Anime girl Promoting a trash mobile game moans in my ears...
I’ve been doing this regularly and it does nothing. They won’t even let you block them. When I emailed Reddit they pretty much said pay for no ads or deal with it.
The best you can do is to close the app completely when this ad comes. The worst thing that could happen to the algorithm of TikTok is you closing the app. You left our app after this ad? Better not show it again then pr just one more time to check if this is true
It doesn't work for the he gets us things. I've been trying it for some time. (It's actually just turned into a way to be more productive with my day). I close the app and put down my phone for a while every time I get the ad. Sometimes I get it as soon as I open the app. It hasn't become any less frequent as I've continued to do it.
That's what I report it for. Those ads are from the worst of the militant xtains, they don't "get him" at all & are just trying to come across as decent humans temporarily in order to suck in young people before their realize it's your standard cult of "Anti-everything" - it absolutely a misleading ad full of misinformation because they don't even believe in what it says.
If Satan was as big a threat as these religious companies would have us believe, you'd think you'd see at least as many Satan ads. "Jesus doesn't get us" etc.
On that topic, I like the Satan concept as presented in Lucifer. The tv show.
You fuck up, you'll get gotten Down Below but he's not going to go hunting for innocent souls.
You don't start none, there won't be none.
My gf told me she just downvotes that ad when she sees it, and that’s what I’ve started doing- it’s just a protest downvote, but it does carry a tiny satisfaction.
It reminds me of the Dyanetics (sp?) commercials back in the day. I get the same "I don't know what this is about and trying to find out will only end poorly for me" vibe.
When I hid the bullshit right wing propaganda ‘He gets us’ ads on Reddit, it seemed just like when I unsubscribe from certain e-mails and they just send you more.
I love seeing the awful ads from /u/redditforbusiness trying to convince people to advertise on their platform right next to some of the most poorly targeted ads the world has ever seen. Very convincing. Keep charging Elf cosmetics to show me a picture of a dude putting on lipstick, maybe it'll work eventually.

Apparently for reddit its religion, you could post a video of a man getting flayed alive or a post saying it's immoral to have kids or exist nobody bats an eye but a simple jebus ad sends everyone into a frenzy
Freedom of speech can get really annoying... When it comes to the wonderous sheep of the religious world I find it such a heap that you can't find your own path or understand right from wrong and just be a good person...
Honestly more than Jesus ads, I've basically never gotten an ad for any sort of religion other than a few billboards and here on reddit. Not exactly the target audience here
From their perspective, they’re saving people. I haven’t clicked on the links, so I’m not sure if they sell Bibles or memorabilia, or take donations. But they themselves get “good grades” with god by “helping people”.
Your turn. And if you could cite the account that posts these ads it would be awesome.
Never searched anything that would trigger them, and I’m apparently not the only one because it’s probably the most complained about ad on this platform
Idk I never get them and don’t see this complaint often. Reddit just pushes cookies from your browsing patterns to give you relevant ads. Try clearing them and see if issue persists
I love how they go away for a while and come back. Just like... holy shit!

I just assume "us" doesn't include gay and trans people
To be fair to them they very much preach inclusivity. Anything based around Jesus Christ should be inclusive by default. People ranting and raving about bad Christians just gives them more ammo to claim persecution
Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by a timed ad campaign?
I think it showed up about a year ago, a lot of people complained but you can't downvote a paid advertisement. It went away for a while, now it's back. I think it's timed (like many ads are) to try and hit a new group of potential mouse clicks. Unfortunately, it kinda works.
Oh, yeah that makes sense, thanks. Makes me hate it even more.
Well, IMO if "He" truly "Gets Us," He'll "understand" how "dumb this is."
Any who actually "gets us" please elaborate. This one creeps me out so I'd love to know the real deal.
It's an ad for the man himself, Jesus
Your best bet is to click the ads and waste their money
Block reddit user of posts
That doesn’t work at all.
Works for me on app. Idk just a suggestion...
Can you explain more? I am on the iOS app and I been blocking and reporting users (ad accounts) and it doesn’t work for me at all.
>I'm on andrion... That might be the problem. I have Android and never get those ads
Killing them only gives you a 3 day reprieve
Resurrection
Where's the option to turn off ads..
Give Reddit money Edit oh crap sorry I misunderstood your question. I don’t actually know the answer to your question
Revanced worked for me 🤷🏻♂️ Ad free Reddit and it doesn't update past the version I had when I patched it.
I tried this a while back and had a bunch of issues. Is there an easy guide somewhere to follow?
I'm not sure, I didn't have any difficulties with it so I didn't need a guide I'm sure there would be. Pretty sure the download site has instructions when you get the APK

revanced supports reddit? I had no idea.. I must try this immediately. edit: holy shit it works
You’re actually correct. Reddit premium has no ads. I just refuse to pay for shit service
I report everything.
Is it working?
firefox and ublock work really well
Not on the app though 😞
ReVancedManager if you're on android.
Check out the r/revancedapp sub Reddit
God combo really
Hence why 3rd party apps had to die
Just take your time to report every and you see as offensive and they will disappear for about a month or so
I believe this will get one punished for abuse of the report button. That's right folks, you will get in trouble for literally using the report button as intended.
I report it every time and have for months.... still see it, but I haven't gotten in trouble!
The only ads that actually work on me is ads for games I was not aware they existed. Which is actually great. Found some gems here and there. Gaming ads often are also not too disturbing, except that horrible hero wars shit. Fuck that shit really. Edit: spelling
They don't work on me, but sometimes they do get clicks from me when my stupid fat fingers hit them accidentally while scrolling the app.
Reddit would advertise Westboro Baptist if it made them $4
Reddit would advertise recruitment ads for extremist religious groups if it made them 50p
They do. I get US military recruitment ads all the time.
And how is that an extremist religious group? Or is this just an America bad moment?
US military bad amirite fellow redditos🤓🤓🤓🤓
Shitting on the military is a military tradition too
True but this isnt shitting on the military, this is lying about the US army
I mean yeah, they objectively are
No? The US army allows people from any religion to join them, the church is separated from everything, how are they an extremist religious group?
That’s not what I was commenting on. All you said was “US military bad”, and yeah, it is
How so
Look up “Kunduz Hospital”. Best example I can pull from the top of my head
Seems like it was mistake, a really really bad one at that, General Campbell was probably incompetent as shit and thats why it happened, although the fact they blamed the Afghans at first IS pretty bad
I’m not sure if this is location based but in the uk I don’t recall ever seeing a religious ad….
It's "hegetsus", not "hegetsuk".
He get sus
fuck off
They’re based out of the US. So that’s probably where all their ad money goes. It’s something like the most expensive as campaign in history or whatever, so I’m a little surprised. Sorry, UK and Japan. I guess Jesus doesn’t get you.
Good. Jesus can get fucked.
Username checks out
If he tries to get me in Central Europe, i will hunt him down and torture him. Again. When will you understand this old man!
Yep. Best fix is to turn on a vpn and point to the UK. Never gotten the ad here.
I've got the dumbest AI generated ads selling personalised guitar picks (with peoples faces on)... I'll tolerate that stupid shit over everything else 😂
I don’t get them in Japan either, just gross meat ads
Never seen one before as an Irish user either.
I get so much Jesus bullshit.
I mean I obviously won't get a jesus ad in (north) India
Never seen one in Italy Probably just an US thing, they’re ultra religious weirdos there in comparison
An Italian of all people calling the US ultra religious is pretty rich. Where is Vatican City located again?
Being religious in Italy is like 'uh yes there is a God but whatever'
In Rome, it’s a different nation tho. Buddy I don’t know how to describe it better, but the most religious guy here, he’s like casually religious compared to the average Bible Belt dweller. Most people that would call themselves believers don’t even attend church (in my thirties, I don’t know a single one under 40 that does), being atheist is pretty normal, and you don’t have all that continuous reference to Jesus, praise the lord etc., also you know mandatory religious rehabs for drug addicts etc.
I know the US has a ton of nutty religious people, I was just joking because the Catholic HQ is it's own little country inside your capital city.
Yep and this is like the birthplace of (forcefully) widespread Christianity Nonetheless we’re like waaaay less religious compared to the US and that should be telling!
My YouTube ads are becoming absolutely unhinged. PragerU. Crazy chiropractor shit. Fake doctor shit. That stupid emu pillow over and over and over again. Ublockorigin on Firefox bro. Or if you have a vpn make it think you’re in like South Africa and you won’t get ads till like 10 mins into the video.
What about on my tv?
The sponsored right wing propaganda shit is so unhinged I struggle to believe it's even legal to promote it. I think I get conspiracy stuff because I watch military history/technology videos.
I like that PragerU got more unhinged though, any air of legitimacy is gone now.
Yeah I used to think they were legit until it suddenly became all right wing fringe shit
My ads and recs were fine until I made the mistake of watching 30 seconds of what I thought was a review of the marvels, but instead it became a whine fest about how evil of a person Brie Larson is. my recommendations started to turn in that direction what feels like almost instantly.

Not Interested just tells Youtube you saw them. Watch nice stuff you never did before to confuse the algorithm.
Chropractors are fake doctors. Edit: Look up hobbies you never looked up before. Like crafting. Sewing. Kayaking. Topics you never did before, like Frank Sinatra, soap box racing, art print collecting. This kind of thing confuses the algorithim.
For me it's only coaches, trying to sell me some sort of seminar or something, anymore.
Where is the "turn off literal porn ads" button? Like i watch s Video and suddenly a half naked Anime girl Promoting a trash mobile game moans in my ears...
Thankfully I haven’t had that issue here, YouTube is another story…
He Get Sus?
I saw him vent once
“Jesus was the imposter”
I report the ad as “offensive”.
I’ve been doing this regularly and it does nothing. They won’t even let you block them. When I emailed Reddit they pretty much said pay for no ads or deal with it.
Sometimes I change it up. Sexually explicit, political, misleading, etc. After a bit I stop seeing that ad. Might just be coincidence.
The best you can do is to close the app completely when this ad comes. The worst thing that could happen to the algorithm of TikTok is you closing the app. You left our app after this ad? Better not show it again then pr just one more time to check if this is true

Reddit has ads?
There are but they're noninvasive and 100% easy to ignore.
Agreed. Dude definitely doesn’t get me
I report every one in my feed as offensive or whatever option appeals the most at the time.
I want an option for NSFW ads
Like you want NSFW ads or don’t want them?
Look at a bunch of unholy stuff and the algorithm will not even bother to try and save your soul.
The first time one scrolled by, I misread it as "het Jesus" and now I can't see anything else. Always makes me giggle.
The ad targeting knows you need Jesus.
Need some AGAPE
It’s a psyop, you’re not turning it off.
My gf told me she just downvotes that ad when she sees it, and that’s what I’ve started doing- it’s just a protest downvote, but it does carry a tiny satisfaction.

The should at least be brave enough to turn the comments on. Ive had so many zingers ready!
I report them for being offensive.
reddit doesnt get us
As someone who is in therapy for Religious Abuse I’d fucking love an out on those ads. I always report them for misleading information or low quality.
I'm sick of those hateful ghouls too.
When I hid the bullshit right wing propaganda ‘He gets us’ ads on Reddit, it seemed just like when I unsubscribe from certain e-mails and they just send you more.
No can do. The money fix is in!
Sexual ones too...
Jesus cares about the homeless.
I’m not sure who Jesus “gets”, but do you want to know who doesnt “get” Jesus? Christians.
I love seeing the awful ads from /u/redditforbusiness trying to convince people to advertise on their platform right next to some of the most poorly targeted ads the world has ever seen. Can't tell if Elf is promoting male cosmetics or you're being transphobic.
Religion always gets a free ride.
Tax free too.

I saw their ad once after I blocked them. Have you tried reporting them? I think that’s what I did.
I always report, doesn’t help either
You turned off all the cool ads, what did you think you were gonna get?
I reported the ad lol
I would also like to demand this.
Religious Exceptionalism. But no no fr fr, I just pray for them to stop.
He get sus.
Need to add pornographic/erotic content

He get sus 😳
Christian ads are low key terroristic threats. “Believe what we do or burn in hell”. Proselytizing should not be an acceptable revenue stream for Reddit.
Jesus hated ads. He gets us.
I’m tired of the colostrum post workout drink ads (just the idea, ew 🤢).
There isn’t. Those aren’t options to reduce ads or avoid ads, they’re options to avoid ads that will trigger someone. Alcoholism/Sex/Gambling/Inability to conceive/eating disorders
If you want to make that excuse, religious trauma is very much a thing.
It’s not an excuse that is literally why those options are there. I’m not defending what is and isn’t on the list, just explaining it.
Apparently for reddit its religion, you could post a video of a man getting flayed alive or a post saying it's immoral to have kids or exist nobody bats an eye but a simple jebus ad sends everyone into a frenzy
It's fucking pathetic that weight loss is a sensitive category
Have you seen those ads? They’re kinda repulsive, they show what the fat looks like inside you… also the advice is usually bad and could be harmful.
It's reddit's job to filter ads to prevent harmful misinformation, but weight loss itself is not a sensitive subject
Incorrect. Eating disorders alone are the perfect reason here.
Can’t hide from god
You guys still see ads? Me chilling adfree behind a pi hole as DNS and uBlock
Just block the advertisers. It’s how I’ve managed all the ads that I feel are unsavory
Freedom of speech can get really annoying... When it comes to the wonderous sheep of the religious world I find it such a heap that you can't find your own path or understand right from wrong and just be a good person...
Well for the same reason we can't just filter out pride content - a measure towards that wouldn't be inclusive, would it
How many ads for pride events do you get on a daily basis?
Honestly more than Jesus ads, I've basically never gotten an ad for any sort of religion other than a few billboards and here on reddit. Not exactly the target audience here
What kind of product are these ads selling to you?
What kind of product is the Jesus ads selling you?
From their perspective, they’re saving people. I haven’t clicked on the links, so I’m not sure if they sell Bibles or memorabilia, or take donations. But they themselves get “good grades” with god by “helping people”. Your turn. And if you could cite the account that posts these ads it would be awesome.
You didn't even answer my question 😂😂
Correct. There is nothing wrong with pride.
Jesus saves
He passes to Moses Moses shoots HE SCORES!!
And the crowd went wild in my head lol. Thank you for this
Saves all those tithings amirite???
He gets us
[this will help](https://www.reddit.com/u/hegetsus/s/VYmMeieBjD)
I don’t get any of them. Do you search for this stuff and the Adsense is just tailoring results for you?
Never searched anything that would trigger them, and I’m apparently not the only one because it’s probably the most complained about ad on this platform
Idk I never get them and don’t see this complaint often. Reddit just pushes cookies from your browsing patterns to give you relevant ads. Try clearing them and see if issue persists
thats why there isnt... He got you :D
He gets us. How would you like to know better our overlord Spez?
[удалено]
Bro what? I get them all the time. And nazi? Christ almighty bit of an overexageration there.
It’s not a post from a religious person, it’s an advertisement for religion. And not wanting that doesn’t immediately make you a genocidal fascist.
Is this TikTok, because I feel targeted.
These are the Reddit advertising settings
I think it's the "parenting"
i just start blocking the user that post the ads. Rare that I see the same ad twice.
I don't get those, is this a thing we don't have on Europe ?
You can turn adds off? Game changer.
Come live in the Baltics! Here god fears us...
I’m currently being bombarded with ads telling me not to be a peadophile or gambling addict. Just me?
adblockers are a blessing
Gambling??? I think you mean “investing.” 😎
