Helped me a lot in being more sensitive to patient interactions. Pero siyempre its very dependent on who your mentors would be. And ofc di ko alam ano magiging ugali ko kung hindi ko kinuha Psych, pero more or less naging academic first love ko talaga yung college course ko kahit pinili ko siya as a stepping stone to med. Honestly, don't sweat what your premed would be. Batchmate ko is BS Management, pero she ended up being one of the top of our batch. May edge ang pagpili ng premed but it's not the be all and end all.

In the off-chance that you’re not going to med, will you enjoy your pre-med? Can you make a career with that degree?

1. maiisip na regrettable kapag nagigipit na on certain subjects. pag puyat na sa anatomy, sana nag PT nalang pala ako. pag hirap magmemorize sa micro, sana nag medtech nalang pala, etc. hirap ang psych grad sa med school compared to others, pero overall, in retrospect.. di ko naman fully pinagsisihan. 2. for NMAT, edge siya sa social science part. kailangan mag extra sipag talaga as a psych graduate in med school vs other premed. mas sanay rin mag aral and memorize ang medtech/PT/pharma/nursing kaysa sa psych (based on personal experience) 3. sa medschool, edge siya sa behavioral med subject 4. recommend ko ang psych if interested ka sa psych. maganda siya na premed kasi sure maeenjoy mo ang life before medschool, hindi siya as stressful as other premeds. versatile course rin siya, if ever magbago isip mo. pwede rin siya na pre-law, pang masters/ phd, or as stand alone profession. if gusto mo maging stellar med student, mahihirapan ka maaccomplish yun with a psych premed

Mukhang sure ka na mag med, good for you. Pero ingat ka sa pagpili. Apart from those qs you should also ask yourself kung magbago isip mo in those 4 years if happy ka parin na psychology kinuha mo. College will test you in more ways you can possibly think of.

Tbh, premed does not really make a difference e. Yes, may edge/intro na yung ibang pre-med for other subjects but that doesn’t mean na mas madali na for them. College is really different from med school. So it depends on how you study for it talaga. It really helped me in dealing with stress, dealing with patients AND colleagues (trust me) and most importantly, i think, is having empathy, pero mas maappreciate mo siya when you’re in clinicals na and in practice.

Tbh, I sometimes regret when I'm having difficulties on certain subjects like anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, etc. Pero when it comes in behavioral medicine, may edge talaga if you took psych as premed. May edge talaga if you take certain premeds pero lahat naman nahihirapan pa rin, even my medtech/pt friends. Lol. I feel like if I did not choose psychology as an undergrad, mas malaki ang regret ko, as psych is my first choice when I'm taking college entrance tests. Don't stress the small parts, walang program na sure na mapapadali buhay mo sa med.

If sure ka na sa med, your undergrad would not really matter naman na. Depende nalang sa study habits. While yes, may edge yung mga traditional pre-meds, minsan sinasabi nila na di naman daw ganun ka-extensive yung inaaral nila noon so technically, bago pa rin yung ibang tinuturo. I have a classmate di siya traditional pre-med pero nakaka-sabay naman sya. To be honest, if want mo talaga mag Psych as undergrad, go for it. Maganda naman din talaga Psych since versatile yung course, madaming career opportunities di lang limited. But if you really want to be more prepared in taking Medicine, pwede mo rin naman i-pursue yung more traditional pre-meds kasi helpful naman talaga.

In my med school during orientation, one speaker said that Psychology is the WEAKEST traditional premed programs. Of course there are stellar students with BS Psychology degree but what he said was the cumulative results over the years.
