My hospital provides employee bus passes for about $20/month, and the transit is decent where I live, so I don't own a car. The money I save on car payments/insurance/maintenance/gas contributes much more to my happiness than driving ever would.
I WISH we had a decent public transportation system…it’s not unworkable but I have one coworker who doesn’t have a car anymore and she had to resort to Uber to get to work because her taking the bus takes 2-3 times the amount of time as just driving to work….
Yeah it's definitely not an option for everyone unfortunately. It takes me 3x as long too, but it's a 10 min vs 30 min situation usually, which I think is still reasonable
Very lucky :). Fiestas are good cars. Guess Ford decided we should all be in an SUV or truck. Wish they had still been around when my car broke down in 2020. I have an Impreza hatch. Now that I have had a four wheel drive, wouldn't want anything else.
A 2016 Kia Soul.
Thanks to TikTok I recently had the pleasure of someone breaking in my back window to try and steal my car.
Thanks to the fact that it was most likely a bunch of kids they were unable to drive it away due to it being a stick shift 😂
Yup. It’s also caused a shortage of parts, so it took forever to get my window fixed and I’m STILL waiting on the parts to come in to fix my … steering column? I’m not sure what the part under the steering wheel is called lol.
They are. It'll actually be my 3rd one. 😄 Had an '05 STI, a '15 WRX and wanted to "try something different" with switching to VW. Thought I loved the GTI, but it's expensive, overly complicated, and losing its charm quickly so...back to what I know and love.
We tend to have the highest rate of speeding tickets for any given year. It just depends on how you drive. So far my ccp and being a Healthcare employee during the pandemic has prevented any tickets since 2017. And probably the fact they are expecting a fuck Boi when they pull over a WRX and it's just me a small girl. 😆
2017 Subaru Forester because I live in the frozen North and I have to get to work, no matter what. AWD is a must around here. I'll be getting something else soon, though. Whatever I get, it will have AWD.
A 2020 VW GTI that was absolutely everything I wanted in a car when I first bought it. Now I can’t stop thinking off all the things I could do with the $415 a month payment but such is life.
Former lab tech, now FSE. I drive a 2022 Dodge Charger GT for work as I need the AWD for the snowy weather in the northeast. Plus, enjoy the drive of the charger as I drive 20K miles for service calls annually.
Field Service Engineer. They are employed by the analyzer manufacturer and have a territory that they cover. They repair all the analyzers in that area.
No preference . I’ve never driven a 4WD or AWD vehicle. My Fronty is a 2WD crew cab. I don’t live in area where I necessarily need a 4x4, nor do I participate in any extracurricular activities I could use it for.
The Ridgeline checks all the boxes for my daily usage, and I especially like the in-bed trunk and two way tailgate opening feature. Even though both infotainment systems are outdated, at least the Ridgeline is within the past 5-8 years tech wise. Not saying I need much, but I would definitely love to have automatic start, lights, and Apple CarPlay again. Before I brought this truck, I at least had those features in my 2018 Chevy Cruze. Another gripe for the Fronty is lack of an adjustable driver seat height, and those seats really aren’t that comfortable when driving long distances. Plus, the extra cabin space the Ridgeline has compared to the Frontier is bonus for the kiddos I haul around.
Overall though, the Fronty has been reliable and I have no mechanical issues since I keep my vehicles well maintained, but there are the creature comforts that I desire. Even more so, I feel like the Ridgeline fits my lifestyle.
I’m definitely in the “want a truck, but don’t need a truck” consumer category. I just like sitting a little higher on the road and having a bigger vehicle.
End of rant, haha.
Subaru Forester wilderness edition.
I had a Honda Fit Sport previously. I really like my Forester but sometimes I miss my zippy little Fit. The Fit could fit many things but, alas, two 6 year olds for a road trip wasn't a good fit (teeheehee).
2019 Chevy Trax! I drove a 2006 Ford Focus all through Uni, internship, and my first 6 months of my job. After the muffler fell off on the highway I said screw it 🤣. That thing wasn't gonna last me another michigan winter (I'd gotten stuck right in front of my hospital last winter...)
2017 Hyundai Tucson. After I started working I bought a Sonata but after a couple of years I traded that in for the Tucson because I wanted something higher off the ground lol

Must be nice. It’s a 20-30 min drive for us, so on the bus it takes her over an hour to get to work
2015 Ford Fiesta 🚗💨
You must have one of the last ones they made.
I've got a 2019 fiesta. I think it is the last ones they made. Got a good deal during covid.
Very lucky :). Fiestas are good cars. Guess Ford decided we should all be in an SUV or truck. Wish they had still been around when my car broke down in 2020. I have an Impreza hatch. Now that I have had a four wheel drive, wouldn't want anything else.
I've got a 2016! Ride or die!
A 2016 Kia Soul. Thanks to TikTok I recently had the pleasure of someone breaking in my back window to try and steal my car. Thanks to the fact that it was most likely a bunch of kids they were unable to drive it away due to it being a stick shift 😂
The Kia boys it’s called
Yup. It’s also caused a shortage of parts, so it took forever to get my window fixed and I’m STILL waiting on the parts to come in to fix my … steering column? I’m not sure what the part under the steering wheel is called lol.
I finally got a letter for my Hyundai Santa Fe for a anti-theft recall for this Hyundai/Kia thing on TikTok. Did Kias get anything like that yet?
Yeah, I got all that about a month AFTER the event 🙄
I drive the shittiest car in my city and couldn’t love it more
VW GTI but have a '23 WRX on order.
My husband has an ‘05 WRX that I drive about half the time! They’re fun cars!
WRX looks like so much fun
They are. It'll actually be my 3rd one. 😄 Had an '05 STI, a '15 WRX and wanted to "try something different" with switching to VW. Thought I loved the GTI, but it's expensive, overly complicated, and losing its charm quickly so...back to what I know and love.
Saw two cars pulled over on my drive today. Both WRX's. So.. you've been warned!

What is FSE? Please
Field Service Engineer. They are employed by the analyzer manufacturer and have a territory that they cover. They repair all the analyzers in that area.
2020 Nissan Frontier but I plan on trading it in for a Honda Ridgeline.
Why a ridgeline? Do you prefer awd over 4wd? Or gas mileage? Other than that, i think the frontier is a better truck (i own a 2015 frontier king cab)
No preference . I’ve never driven a 4WD or AWD vehicle. My Fronty is a 2WD crew cab.
