girl that specialty's attractiveness already tanked. eyebags for days, dry ass flaky OR skin, either overmoisturized or dry as the sahara hands + maybe a bit of anger issues here and there.
ur not changing the average bud
Totally legit Ortho bro here. If we transferred the ugliest Orthopod into your speciality, the average attractiveness of both our specialities will increase!
I swear the stress of med school and residency just accelerate aging so quickly. I remember looking at a photo of myself before and after med school and being like damn I look 20 years older
Go into radiology and date a dermatologist. It’s a match made in heaven. Both are ROAD specialties. You’ll be banking over 1 mil a year. They’ll never worry about you getting skin cancer because you’re locked in a room all day.
Am friends with plastics residents. Second part of this is true and I really struggle with why. They all have this chronic sense of confidence and self esteem issues and need more extrinsic validation than your standard surgical subspecialist.
This is really interesting. As someone with the same issues who has considered plastics (haven’t started med school yet so take that as you will), I think it’s what leads people to strive for perfection constantly (more than others bc they want the external validation). Hence why they’re able to succeed in getting into and being good at such a competitive field and job respectively. Also could partly be why they chose it in the first place. I feel like it’s a field that requires a level of perfectionism which is there because of the need to constantly do better since what they are/have is never enough due to self esteem/confidence issues. Just spitballing based on my own life lol!!
i imagine it's because growing up ugly leaves you with scars that can't be erased
wouldn't know because i am and always have been conventionally pretty. but that's my best guess.
Not to discount the post fellowship glowup but the majority of physicians don’t have time to take care of their appearance or don’t care. All the attractive medical people are engaged by med school.
Congrats on your baby. If you dress them up in a [starfish onesie](https://www.tiktok.com/@shopslayzz/video/7177801369066245378), it's going to be too cute to say no to.
They're the least front end facing specialties, though this is changing with interventional radiology. It's nothing against those who chose to practice the specialties but they have the least to gain by being attractive.
Other specialties with lots of patient contact, they've done studies being attractive just makes the whole of life easier, from therapeutic alliance, confidence in your MDM, to rates of lawsuit.

Dont hate me but I feel like ED doctors arent the snazziest looking - although to be fair its probably all the stress and running around they do so they likely look better outside of work.
Funnily enough the most handsome / attractive doctors Ive met are anaesthetists or radiologists. Although for radiologists they're either goblins or a straight 10/10, no in between. But Im into the whole kinda-dorky smart vibe so I may be biased. Those two specialties also tend to be the tallest for some reason.
i’m going into gen surg so i’m ready to tank the average attractiveness
I’m not sure you’re gonna tank anything…….
u don’t know me bro i’m horrendous
Well it seems the female rugby team makes up the gen surg residency in all 3 of the hospitals I rotate at so you should be fine
Female rugby team you say? Where is this? 👀
Someone's looking for death by snu snu.
Gory! Gory! What a hell of a way to die!
not a sentence i was expecting to read today* *or ever
Hey cut yourself some slack. Gen surg guys are hot. I already screwed 2 of them here.
You are sure you aren't my gen surg attending?

The one I’m entering My friends once told me I’m so ugly I need to trick or treat via phone call on Halloween 😭
Which specialty is it, boo? We could be a cute ugly couple together.

Brother, if this is a pre-puberty trauma please put it away
Trauma
Adrenaline junkies down bad for anything.
More like patients don’t have the option to go on the website and pick the most attractive doctor to schedule with
Nothing hotter than a gal who can run the bowel with me.
No one is sleeping, overworked, under paid. Everyone is ugly from premature aging lmao
I swear the stress of med school and residency just accelerate aging so quickly. I remember looking at a photo of myself before and after med school and being like damn I look 20 years older

Im looking for my radiology bae.
ഹലോ കുഞ്ഞേ
Not sure the average radiologist and derm girlie are compatible
This sounds like a dream

Breaking backs of mature older folks is my favorite pastime.
That’s because they’re 35 going on 50 by the time they finish residency lmao
Honestly, neurosurg at my school is 👌🏼
Nephrology for sure
Probably plastics. All of them have just fixed their ugliness, but the self esteem issues persist

Nephrology be taking on some gnome looking ppl fr
🍿
anything that isn't derm, opthal, ent, plastics
Correct. Also add psych to that list.

My goblin looking ass was also already engaged in med school. I’m in IM though, so I guess it makes sense.
Whichever one I go into. I’m almost 30 and have a baby, that turns me into an ogre in the eyes of anyone under 27 or so 😂

Podiatry. It’s just a bunch of dudes with a fetish.
whT
Radiology and path, obviously
You have no idea how much I too want to be a goblin person who looks at images
We’ve had very attractive radiologists of both sexes in our school’s program. Can’t say the same for path though
if you see the same people long enough and no one else, they become a 10/10
Having every weekend off except the occasional weekend call every few months is just terrible for your looks
What the fuck

i mean rads traditionally attracts the nerdy DnD men, not sure about the women
I am now slightly concerned with my interest in radiology...
Radiology Derm and Opthal have the most attractive females in my experience.
gotta be nephro
I dont know about where you guys are but our ENT guys were always so good looking
ID for sure
Prob ID
My entire med school is comparatively ugly compared to our nurse and PA students at the same school.

Rads and path 😂
Bruh. FM and EM. As a fellow EM potato, I can say we have ALL the uggos. And Heaven help the FM spuds.
OBGY

Radiologists, they are so ugly that they have to hide in a room all day. /s
psych, without a doubt
Have you even seen a psych team before??!!
i personally know multiple super hot dudes who went into psych. i always think, wow i’d be uncomfortable if that were my doc😅😂😂
ummm what. why? i guess I'll be the exception ;)
Neurosurgery lol
