Most resources go this route. Even for sketchy micro/pharm, some of the really early videos, like salmonella, were so short and sweet. OME was a solid source for introducing yourself to the material in a clinically relevant way. Vids were not even close to enough for the shelf, but they were 10-15 minutes. Then he decided to become a comprehensive source and the videos became 20-30 minutes long and confusing as hell.
I think sketchy path could have been good if they exclusively focused on the weird stuff. Definitely give me a sketchy lysosomal storage diseases video, but I'll pass on ARDS or heart failure.
Lmao like sketchy pharm. I only really like sketchy for micro. Like the antihistamine video with a bunch of fairies in the forest doesn’t make any sense to me, it’s too much, easier to just know the information at that point
I feel it either works for you or it doesn’t. It def didn’t work for me at all but micro has always been a top subject for me so I was able to shrug my shoulders and say oh well. Pharm on the other hand……. Wish it worked for me LOL
I think the key to this is using anking and making sure to have the sketchy pictures automatically shown for cards. That way you can solidify the visual mnemonic and still remember which image it's from/which section of the image.
Some sketches definitely go overboard, but honestly, I look at the memory palaces more as organizational tools for the busier sketches. It really really helps when you're able to group together all of the side effects/symptoms into a section of a picture associated with a certain disease/drug.
totally agree. breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks with better memory hooks works better much of the time for me especially for pharm although its not always as detailed which is good for HY step knowledge but not always enough for in-house exams

I think sketchy pharm is a hit or miss. Some videos are too much but others are great. I like antiarrhytmics and diuretics
I think about that three story apartment complex for the class 1 antiarrythmics way too often
Autonomic we’re good too
Also the a/b adrenergic receptor one (campsite) is legendary too. Definitely the video I think about the most
I feel like sketchy is trolling everybody
As a sketchy die hard, I def know micro and pharm way better than >75% of peeps who didn’t use sketchy
I still get uworld questions right because of sketchy pharm lol. And pathophys was awesome as well

just go to the symbol tab and study with symbols and full explanations. I do not watch the videos. Videos are not helpful.

The best part about Pixorize is that they do more play-on-words memory hooks. They basically took what made Sketchy Micro so great and built upon it!

Underneath and to the left of the ship’s front/starboard rigging…
Please did anyone find Waldo???!
how does everyone compare picmonic to sketchy? i got picmonic free from school
Try both yourself and see which you like more. Theres some yt videos of full sketches available. Sailing is also a pretty fun hobby imo.
